anime with little to no oversexualization/hypersexualization of female characters. no harems regardless of horniness because it's still weird & misogynistic. i tried to avoid shows that simply have little to no girls at all. i'm tired of feeling grossed out by every anime/manga !!

Recommendations of different works from 70, 80 and 90s.

In my opinion, these anime have survived countless reviews and criticisms, both good and bad, yet some of them still stand as the masterpieces of their time and will continue to be so, even for the future.
All of these treasures are regular, one step at a time, pure romance. The type that wants to make you cuddle up with someone you trust and watch them all in one go.

Also I should mention a few points:

The priority is decided by my score, you can watch them in that order or .... Well whatever works for you.

Some of them may have more seasons or the anime is not really popular so other members who have reviewed it also, may have found it not to their tastes.

Well then, don't wait, go on to the romance isekai in our regular sekai.

While male viewers can potentially enjoy any shoujo anime, the shoujo anime in this list can especially appeal to male viewers. Some are shoujo with a more general appeal. Others almost feel mislabeled as shoujo. Whichever camp you put them, I hope that male viewers can dip their toes into a different side of anime that isn't necessarily tailored to them.

Essential anime for lonely people out there (like me) if you want to feel something in this big big world. To see every color, every character in desperate search for some human warmth, to understand and befriend them as we ourselves are looking for genuine connection.

These anime take their time to develop, but once they do, there is no turning back.
Some might appear to have no plot or continuity, taking even entire seasons to develop.

Anime that give me my realism tingle.

Anime that suffer from a considerable drop in animation quality in at least one episode. This can vary from weird looking faces to changing animation technique, using cutouts to make up or making an episode with basically no animation.

I looked in TVtropes, CBR and AniDB for some of these.
