Both follow a group a high school boys in their daily lives with many hilarious situations along the way

Both have a very chill and relaxing atmosphere + not that much going on story-wise; just high school students doing ordinary high school things. Both also have guys as their protagonists and girls as side characters. Not much love-related stuff going on in either, just veeeeery subtle subplot (if you could even call it that in Tanaka-kun Is Always Listless' case)

Both anime are about daily life with friends, going out and do stupid things with friends.. In the other side their bond get stronger time to time and they almost share everything..

I both love this two anime. Though Kimi to Boku is a series and Free!Starting Days is a movie. FOR ME they are similar bec. *Friendship between the characters. *Struggles and conflicts with their own lives. *Thinking about what they really want in life. *Reaching for their dreams.

They both have nice stories and they both enter the world of high school life. Both animes have the same kind of feel to it. They both have groups of friends who have fun together in every episode. The only difference is that Kimi to Boku has a love story and the gang is all boys while K-on has a group of all girls.

Both anime exudes the same lightheartedness. Both of them deals with day to day lives of friends. One deals with supernatural while the other is not. Nevertheless they deal with bonds and friends.

Kimi to Boku isn't a water related anime but both are equally fun!!! Both of the anime are about friendship, opening up and learning to find happiness in the littlest things. Both delivered a warmhearted feeling. MUST WATCH! eno-shima-BOWL!!!!!

Similar character types among the main group. You have the twins, the glasses-wearing guy with short dark hair with the occasional short fuse, the exuberant blond guy, and uh . . . okay, so there isn't really a genderbending person in Kimi to Boku, there IS a guy who's a tad on the feminine side when it comes to interests, and who originally had long hair and got confused for a girl in the first half of the first season. Also similar humor type, though for Kimi to Boku it is much more subtle and understated.
