Sakigake!! Cromartie Koukou

So after reading all the reviews on this anime, plus it being recommended to Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei watchers, I decided to take my time and download this anime to see how much would it turn out to be amusing. I'm not a very experienced anime fan, yet I've already watched quite an amount of comedy series. I can frankly say that I can't even make it through the entire anime. It is truly awful, I fail to see the fun in it, and if Cromartie tries to be fun, it's mostly some REALLY, really lame joke that is 1) predictable, 2) not even funny. It ... even seems like Cromartie isn't even trying to amuse. I have no idea what's the purpose of this anime.

It focuses on the school life of a few delinquent minors and one angel guy who at their 16, look like they're well into their fourties. I should mention that the art and the way characters are drawn doesn't do any justice to the series, and personally for me, it only made it worse, cause it was way too horrid to watch. It should be somewhere in a fighting shounen anime, not in this one. In those pricks' school, there is a robot, gorilla, and Freddie Mercury. Hahaha. Now we are supposed to laugh at the irony of the situation. Weird things happen to those guys, and the robot, gorilla and Freddie are milked throughout the series in an attempt to give birth to jokes and fun moments, which they are definitely doing wrong. In addition to that, the anime offers us plans and thoughts of those guys about beating up another guys. Episode after episode.

As much as I hate to say it, but stay away from this anime, cause otherwise you'd regret even having it. I might be failing to see where the fun is; but most likely it just doesn't have any sense of humor to it at all, and if it does, it's less than mediocre.

This one's a bit of a hit or miss.
You'll either really love it and think its the greatest comedy ever, or it'll kinda just make you smile sometimes. My experience falls into the latter. That being said I have developed a fondness for this show through a sort of self imposed Stockholm syndrome. I finished this because someone I respect really likes this show and I wanted to like it too.

Overall you'll know if you like it after 3 episodes.
Most people like it. But from what I've heard if you like it you will LOVE it.
Its worth checking out.
I'd give it a 6. (which ... is a better than average score)

And like I said enjoyment is entirely dependent on your taste in comedy.

I think some parts were pretty funny, but some episodes are fillers straight retarded. If a few words, this anime had too many extra episodes. Now, if the director would've cut some episodes you would've had a fine comedy.

I voted 7 because some parts were hilarious but I firmly believe this anime is average and just for the boiss.

There's a robot in the anime and everyone thinks the robot is like a human and some episodes were specifically about the robot in action scenes and some other boring asf stuff where nothing really happens and you are supposed to laugh for any ridiculous reaction of ... a character...

This anime is for you if you already watched all other anime comedies and you have a lot of extra time.
