Primary schoolgirls who can see spirits that are invisible for the other humans. But while in Ninninman these spirits could help the main character, in Pupipo! the spirits hinder the little girl this time, instead.

Main characters are young schoolgirls who can see spirits (in a different way), and the girls dislike these entities in both titles and in the same way. Mokke's ones are more mischievous and reflect the Japanese folklore, while Ninninman's ones reflect hated food eaten.
