Story - This OVA is pretty lazy. It's literally just them trying to make a promotional video for the Jet Racing Association. It's really just a promo for the PS4 game I believe. No racing is to even be had in this OVA. There's different fan service tropes thrown in. Attempts were made at throwing various storylines in and some character development but the OVA just ended up feeling like a jumbled mess.
Sound - It's ok, English dub is funny because of redneck main character. Opening and ending are forgettable but catchy.
Animation - Watch for the "plot".

Kandagawa Jet Girls focuses around the sport of "Jet Racing". A "Jetter" who is the driver of the jet ski, and a "Shooter" who uses various types of water guns to shoot at the opposing race team. The anime was released more or less in tandem with the PS4 game of the same name.

Still recommended but...
The pacing isn't nearly as good as the original Kai run. This could be due to the fact that the Buu Saga is just really bloated to begin with. While it's still a very solid cut/remaster of the original, I found myself kind of feeling impatient by the end. That being said, there are still some really epic moments in this. Kai is still my preferred method of rewatching from this point onward. Unless I just WANT to watch some of the filler(looking at you Driving Test episode). Music is ok. You don't get the jarring parts from the redrawn scenes, because they ...

Long time fan, new Kai viewer.
I did not watch Kai when it initially aired, rather just recently watched the blu ray releases from Funimation. Kai is definitely my preferred method for subsequent rewatches. Pacing is outstanding, although some scenes do lose a little suspense due to the increased pacing. While I didn't miss most of the filler, I do enjoy the driving test episode. Unlike most I find the Garlic Jr Saga somewhat enjoyable also. Other than that the filler isn't missed. Music is OK, Bruce Falconer's OST would have came in clutch in this for sure. The era of 90s video game licensed anime is something special. Entirely a mixed bag. Vampire Hunter aka Night Warrior: Darkstalker's Revenge is very much a product of it's time, having a similar look and feel to Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Donovan is a pretty nice character that seems to be ripped from Vampire Hunter D. I was thoroughly surprised at how overwhelmingly decent this OVA was, having severely low expectations going in.
