Recommendations

Shonen-ai with likeable "grounded" characters and lots of cuteness to go around.

Both stories revolve around two people who seem completely different but end up becoming friends by spending time together. Sweet stories that will warm your heart and make you want to read more! Bonus points for having main characters with glasses.

High school boys bond over music and demonstrate their gayness. Both are vanilla BL stories with relatively healthy relationship.

They're both just really soft and sweet mangas. Without too much drama.

This is a BL between 2 students. A blossoming romance that is super cute and sweet.

If you like stories that follow a unique couple, that really go further into their lives, that you can understand and see mor of them, to accompany their relationship and see the construction of these characters, i recomend both. Also, principally Boku no Omawari-san is really funny! I like a lot.

similar story and character dynamic

Both series revolve around a young same sex couple navigating their relationship and their future plans. A lot of the relationship conflicts that come up are realistic, and both are sweet reads with couples who love each other lots.

Both are yaoi manga though one is more yaoi than the other. Both couples are classmates. And both couples have a difficult time communicating with each other at some point. At some point in both manga, one of them is insecure about the other liking another person (a girl). Both are cute romances between boys in high school.

Both tell the stories of how music connected two people in love and the struggles of being a musician as the MCs maintained their relationships in the midst of a blooming career.

They both have sweet atmospheres and moments that make your heart melt. Cuteness overload!

I think that the main characters from both mangas are similar in terms of personality. They are both short but definitely pull at your heartstrings nonetheless.

Another slice of life story focusing on the blossoming relationship between two boys with a dreamy & optimistic atmosphere.

Both perfect shounen ai, touching and sweet stories with a bitter touch.

Slow paced, moving and sweet stories about young schoolers knowing each other. Best shounen ai exaples.

Both are cute BL manga about highschoolers discovering their own sexuality and learning how to be in a functional relationship. Both have cute little stories about their insecurities and in general both are very pleasant reads. No darker material to be found here just wholesome cute gay love.

Both are series which portray LGBTQ characters and their relationships genuinely and realistically. Beautiful art in both as well. Shimanami Tasogare focuses mainly on characters coming to term with their sexuality and finding acceptance among others, while Doukyuusei revolves mainly around romance. If you're looking for stories with solid queer representation I can highly recommend both.
