Synopsis

Between a recent move to Tokyo and the first day of high school, Rei starts his day filled with anxiety and insecurity. His nervousness accompanies him to the classroom, where amidst the classroom chatter, Rei is suddenly struck with a strange dream, followed by an aching in his chest.

Once he wakes up, Rei is greeted by a small creature standing on his desk. Passing it off as part of his dream, Rei heads home. However, to his surprise, numerous other strange creatures of all shapes and sizes roam the streets, seemingly invisible to everyone else.

With countless questions and the small creature from before trailing behind him, Rei's life is changed forever when he encounters a tall one-eyed figure, dressed in all black, smiling at him.

I was listening to Eve their song called "raison d'etre" its an amazing song but what took me by a surprise was the animation, the video was amazingly animated by ENISHIYA Inc. I went to check the comments and people were saying things like "We’re secretly watching an anime op that hasn’t came out yet". I have been a huge fan of Eve's music for about a year and a half now. The music videos are always amazing and while reading the manga I was just estatic! I accidentally discovered it and went to find the quickest way possibly I could read it.

In short: If you like the music you will like the manga! I was so excited when I recognized the characters from the music videos, it made me feel like I was in on a bigger story before it even started!

The story of Kara no Kioku is written by the singer Eve. Many of the characters come from his music videos, so if you are familiar with those, it is a delight to read. I really do like this manga, but it's not perfect by far, so I have both negative and positive things to say about it. We'll get the bad things out of the way first so we can focus on the good!
