Petty question, but in episode 4, if Anya knew she can split the macaron, why didn't she just suggest/do it in the first place, rather than going through the whole game and suggesting it later?

I thought it's cuz they're just kids and didn't think much of it, but Anya thought of the idea of splitting, but she suggested it later.

Nvm, forget I ask this question. How do I delete this post?

Child Mentality, slow process of giving, it takes time for a child to understand that sharing is better than fights, and Damian didn't accept the half cuz he was too embarrassed for it.

It could be they thought they had to eat the full macron to get smart. Also, they did not decide on who would get the smallest part if they did split it.

I’m not trying to be mean, but like did you watch it? Anya and Damian’s squabbles have always been petty and childish because they’re children. Anya also isn’t very smart so that’s another thing. Plus it’s comedy the joke wouldn’t be there if they just took the easy solution.

My first thought was you can make 4 macarons work 5 ways. 4/5. But nah that’s just calculus fucking with my head, society isn’t that cooperative

This is called an "idiot ball plot", a story that would not have happened if the characters had even thought a little. But if this didn't happen, we'd lose the chance for a fun competition and punchline, right?

Kids usually only act according to what they want, so it makes a little sense that they wouldn't consider sharing the cookie. It takes them a while to think of other options, as it shows by the time it took for Anya to think of sharing.

Or...

The author did it this way for the story to be a little longer. Idk.

Love seeing someone has never had a macaron before. They’re so hard on the outside, and stuck like glue on the inside good luck breaking one in half without it completely falling apart

Bro they’re literally 6 yr olds, it’s not exactly hard to imagine them not wanting to share, especially with other kids they don’t even like

@Kiruya625 This doesn't change the fact that the plot wouldn't have happened if they had just thought about it longer. Not to mention that Anya is quite smart for her age.
