Did the second arc lower your score?

I personally would give Sister’s arc like a 9.5 or 10 and Silent Party Arc around a 5.5. I feel very strongly that if the second arc happened before the Sister’s arc or was an OVA mini-series or something, this season of Railgun would be much less underrated.

Definitely yes, I'd give sisters arc around a 7 and Silent party a 1. Add in my personal hatred for the silent party arc and my overall rating went down to 3 .

LOL that’s honestly pretty valid. I think you should consider that Sister’s arc is 2/3 of the whole series while Silent Party Arc is only 1/3 of the series. Other than that, I can understand.

I just gave it a 9 overall because Sisters was a HIGH 9 and Silent Party was an 8 for me. So I wouldn't say it really lowered my score, but it's definitely much worse than sisters

100% I absolutely loved the sisters arc. I watched all 15 or so episodes in just 2 days. But the second arc just felt so god awfully boring that it took me almost a month to finish it

I really loved the sisters arc, it's a 9/10 for me, but with the Silent party arc, it felt boring for me, and the story wasn't interesting to me for most of the time, and I really wanted to skip the arc, but I didn't because I at least wanted to see how it ends, for me the Silent party arc is a 4/10, and my overall rating is a 7/10.

Could u remind me what was the silent party arc again, it’s on the edge of my mind, like I remember seeing the name while watching the anime but it’s been a while

The arc about the little blond girl Febri, where they go around babysitting her for half the arc and the last bit is solely about some random schmucks hating esper or something. Saten pilots a mech too ig lmao

It most definitely did, I was very deeply emotionally invested especially in Misakas character at the end of Sisters. After Silent Party it felt like she immediately reverted any development was made, throw in shit that makes no sense like them meeting ITEM in a slice of life scene and its just very underwhelming. As vapid as it is tho I did enjoy the final battle and I have to take my enjoyment with a pinch of salt because I enjoyed sisters so much. If they had just waited to adapt Sisters and Daihasei into one season it easily would have been the highest heights that Raildex would ever reach imo

Had no issue with Silent Party. The main four all got screentime and the final battle was great.

It was actually opposite for me. Having watched the second half of the sisters arch (I call it the accelerator arch) in Index, I found it incredibly difficult to sit through. I also didn't like that the dialogue and sequence between the two were different. I found the first part of the sisters arch brilliant, but the middle 5 episodes or so were difficult for me. Just my opinion. I liked the silent party arch, but felt that it was rushed near the end. I think to could've been paced much better, but overall I thought it was a really good arch.

Sister's arc for me was a 9.20 and Silent party arc for me was 8.40 probably because i like all the characters so i enjoyed alot of the slice of life scenes..... so total solid 9 for me

No, silent party is just the better arc, the way the plot progressed and misaka actually had an arc this time

Sisters arc is a solid 8/10 for me, whereas Silent Party is a 4/10. It was a bad arc but at least not as bad as Big Spider or Poltergeist arc.

Not really, but that's more because I went into Railgun hearing it called a "spinoff" and sort of expected it to be more slice-of-life... I do like the characters, and I enjoy the universe it takes place in - but as far as development it didn't add anything new - it just reinforced the "science at all costs" mindset of Academy city and that it's a pretty cruel place.

After the Sisters arc it is definitely underwhelming, though. Missed potential in my book, but what more can one expect from anime-only arcs in ...any anime? I can't think of any example of them not being a disappointment.
