Yuri!!! on Ice,
I've been looking forward to watching this for a while now, and maybe it's my expectations that gave me the ending opinions I have on this, or maybe it's just how good it is.

I was impressed with this from the very beginning, the opening had me excited for what I was getting into. The song, the animation for it.
The characters were great as soon as I met them, there's been a lot of hype about this so it's surprising that they met the expectations that had been built up for me, yet without even knowing what I should be expecting?

The animation is gorgeous, as is the character design. The contrast between Yuuri, Yuri(o) and Victor is fantastic, they're individual from each other, yet you can still pick up their similarities.

Yuuri has his dreams of ice skating and they seemed to be slipping away from him, but he always held onto his inspiration whom was Victor. So he's incredibly surprised when Victor suddenly appears saying he wants to coach Yuuri. Watching the relationship between the two of them evolve is one of my favourite parts of this series, obviously one of the big deals about this is the possible yaoi undertones, which I fully support between the two of them.

This is possibly the very first sport anime I've watched, they're generally not something I enjoy, but I had a lot of fun watching this. It's not all sport, yes it's the main subject but there's enough substance in other things to draw you in. I think I'll actually make an effort to watch other sports anime now that I've watched this, it's shown me how interesting and engrossing they can be.

You really feel like you're going through the events with them, you tense up wondering whether the person is going to pull off their move or make a mistake, you anticipate what their scores will be and where they'll place in the rankings. It does an incredibly good job of sucking you into the world, and it's exactly where I wanted to be.

I was actually sad it ended where it did, I wanted more. But there's such a thing of too much of a good thing and it's good it ended, though with the tease of the possibility of more which is exciting. I loved watching this, it charmed me and I can see why it's so popular. If you enjoy sports, or even if you don't, this is something that should go on your list of things to watch.. Sooner rather than later.
