The idea of spirits lurking in the shadows, tempting humanity to do evil, and consuming those that give in to temptation, is easy to relate to and brings a valuable message across, namely that everyone has a battle in life that has to be dealt with.
Hiyori is what makes this anime extraordinary. The artwork of her character is exquisite and her two lives, one as a human, one as a spirit, bring forth many funny scenes.
The only real downside is the out of place animation of Yato's signature combat move.
I recommend this anime to everyone, including grown ups, especially if you are looking for something entertaining without constant combat.
