After watching the series over again my opinions have definitely changed, so I would like to rewrite this review.
There are few anime out there that can express passion, as well as this one. A story about a girl who enjoys stem and wants to follow her dream is definitely something you don't see in many animes. Its an original fresh of air that you might want to watch casually. Its slice of life for the most part and scifi for the rest. As a hobbyist of electronic engineering this anime gets my internels tingling, the passion of someday achieving the impossible, is goal I also strive for. I feel that the feelings are so well conveyed by the characters. *I highly recommend watching the dub for this anime. I personally hate most funimation dubs as they are the worst low quality shit, but this is one of my exceptions as it (in my opinion) is far superior to the sub.
Okay now let's start with the story, the story is something that's very confusing and ends very abruptly. That's all have to really say, since it doesn't feel very well put together, when there's like jumble of 4 events that take place during the same time period. The ending also leaves you with alot of questions that'll probably never be answered unless you play the game. The most notable one being the disappearance of Kona's mother.
I have to say that the art for this anime is very good. It uses cgi well enough to the point where its not very noticeable, especially when they animated the tanagashi machine. The character designs are also well made and don't feel like the modern generic anime style. I didn't expect much less from a well known studio as production IG.
The sound is probably one of the best things about it. It has very motivating, and calm pieces that fit into the scifi and slice of life parts all to well.
The best thing about this show and probably my reason for giving this anime an 8 would be the characters. The characters are so alive, quirky and lovable. Ranging from the perverted and lonely Kona to the Energetic and always optimistic Akiho Synomia. With the exceptions of the main character, which most people aren't very fond of as he is bland and "isn't very enjoyable to watch". I feel that it makes up for it as he is very close with Ahki and cares for her as a child hood friend. You always see him stepping out of his way to help her, which just helps you have some feeling towards him as a character.
To tell you the truth if it wasn't for the very good voicing acting I would have given this a 6 or 7 and my enjoyment would be a 7, but that isn't the case so I would give this show an 8 for having excellent voice acting and very good characters that have some of the most realistic feeling character interactions(akhi and kai).
