This anime is one of the most brutally realistic anime that I have ever seen. It doesn't try to mask or hide the realities of life that strike people everyday, nor does it shy away from the beautiful moments that make life worth living. While some may see Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso as having a poor storyline, I find that this anime spins a complex tale of passions lost and passions gained, relationships lost and relationships gained, and most importantly of all, love lost and love gained. If you like a Disney-style romance fairytale, you might be in for a disappointment; even so, this anime is worth watching regardless. Get ready for a tear-jerking, soul-crushing and ultimately spirit lifting story of a lost pianist and a crazy violinist trying to live their lives through each other and through music.
