Watashi is the OreImo only reality can offer. What this means is Watashi's sister heroine isn't beautiful, isn't an athlete, isn't at the top of her class and just generally doesn't have the world at large fawn over her. In OreImo acting bitchy whilst having a sexual fetish typically associated with fat otaku men is rewarded, and the icing on the cake is a doormat brother willing to do anything to appease her--incest not withstanding. OreImo delivers as far as entertainment goes. This is true. But after following Kirino's tsundere self down the road toward incest for long enough, it makes a nice change of   read more

They are the parallel world of each other. Because both feature a girl of Anime, Visual novel fanatica and a brother. But they are good and they give good moments to enjoy.

In both series, the main female character is considered an otaku of sorts with a habit of playing games alone by herself. (Their popularity with the outside world is vastly different though.) The main male protagonist is the brother of their sister, and they have opposite personalities. The bothers also share the same VA. Both series make fun of the otaku culture, have catchy dialogues, as well as have the ideas of growth and relationships with family. Both series also have a school-life setting filled with drama and comedy.

Both series involves a female main character (Kirino/Tomoko), who loves play videogames and other otaku stuff. Both girls wants to make friends, but there's the difference between both girls: Kirino is a pretty popular girl who wants to make otaku friends, while Tomoko is a lonely unpopular girl who just wants to make friends. Under their own situations, both girls has to appeal to their brothers (Kyosuke/Tomoki). Both brothers have an average attitude, but Kyosuke tends to be more careful about Kirino, while Tomoki doesn't seems to care about Tomoko

The main females leads in both animes are otaku and play dating sims. Both main females want friends ( in Oreimo though she wants Otaku friends). The brothers of both main protagonist have the same actor and act similarly.

Watamote and OreImo have two strong female leads that are almost opposites of each other but share the same interests. OreImo's Kirino is a cute, popular and smart girl who is secretly an otaku and gets no greater pleasure than playing the eroge and watching the anime she loves. However, she must hide her hobbies for fear that people will shun her if they find out. Watamote's Tomoko is an unpopular, slightly odd looking girl who is socially awkward but desperately wants to be popular. She, too, loves anime and dating sims, just like Kirino, and is more open with her love of them. Both series have   read more
