Aliens, comedy and bright colors. A slow paced story that is also a story about growing up. What more could you ask for? How about aliens interrupting the day to day lives of normal people and the normal crazy antics of teens.

The two main characters, Takatsuki Ichika (Ano Natsu de Matteru) and Haru (Tsuritama), are both mysterious, odd newcomers to small towns who form strong friendships with some of the locals. Both anime series have beautiful landscape scenes, are colorful, and have the "summer" theme.
A boy's normal life is suddenly interrupted by a spontaneous alien person. Both have bright colors and a likable cast of teenagers having fun over summer.

What makes these two series so alike is that both deal with aliens that come to earth. Both emphasise the importance of having friends; both take part in summer and both are feel-good anime.
