Flying Witch is possibly one of the most relaxed, tranquil anime bestowed upon this world. This show was a gem among stones this season, with nothing else keeping me particularly hyped for the next episode. Despite this show having a basic plot and absolutely no movement in the story (not physically anyway) this was absolutely one of my favourites this season.
Story: 8

the characters get up to together, from simple activities like cooking at school or making a vegetable patch, to creating potions and discovering new spells accompanied by the other witch characters, Akane (Makoto's sister) and Inukai (Akane's friend). These activities were enjoyable to watch, there was no flashy spell-casting or explosions or intensity, just relaxing and calming to watch.

The setting of Aomori is absolutely beautiful, lush landscapes and aerial shots of the town and surrounding environment are frequently shown and used effectively to transition scenes and display the location of our characters next "everyday" event. The characters looked fairly stock-standard, you've seen this style before, but it is nice to look at, they look like normal people. I think that's another reason this show feels so relaxing to watch, the characters don't look like they're out to fight evil or blow shit up, they lead normal lives and do normal stuff, simple and effective.

While the OP of Flying Witch is questionable at times, personally I enjoyed it sometimes, didn't really at others. The ED was beautiful, really nice way to tie off each episode, especially as sometimes I didn't even feel it coming, and assumed it was part of the episode. On the topic of that, the soundtrack was incredible, so god damn tranquil. The quiet sounds of the mornings accompanied by soothing acoustic guitar sets each episode off with a fresh and warm feeling. The SFX used in comedic scenes also works perfectly, with a wonky, quirky tone to it that, in my opinion, emphasizes the scenes dialogue or topic effectively.
Characters: 8
You've seen all these characters before, they are quite easy to predict and you can guess their next personality trait in an instant. But, this doesn't mean they don't keep the show going, Makoto is gorgeously bubbly and excited by such simple things you can't help but gush, Akane receives the label of crazy, adventurous, show-offy alcoholic big sister, but still adds important input to the dialogue and her storytelling adds an entire new level to the world that the show is set in. Kei and Chinatsu are both great characters, Kei being the understanding, kind and welcoming male lead, always willing to spark the events of the episode, and teach both the other characters and the viewer (well, me at the least) new things about the particular activity being done. Chinatsu is cute as fuck, and her excitement and open-mindedness makes every scene a happy one, her charm and bubbly personality surpass Makoto, and her clueless-ness at some points has a very distinct curiousity to it, pulling the viewer in and forming a surrogacy of inquisition.
Enjoyment: 8
I enjoyed this show very much, I enjoyed watching these simple characters interact and grow deeper bonds with each other as they performed everyday tasks and just simply had innocent fun together. That's really all there is to it, this show has such a simple formula and executes it perfectly. Making such simple activities interesting to watch and difficult to stop.

Basically if you've got a cup of tea or something in your hands, lying in bed, or on the couch, relaxed in the early morning and you watch this, you've pretty much got no excuse not to feel spectacularly tranquil and enlightened. If your looking for something light-hearted and easy to watch, I encourage you to watch Flying Witch.

Well, this has been the biggest roller-coaster of lewdness and perversity i've watched since DxD, but that doesn't mean it's good, nor does it mean it's bad, but, eh, this show just hits some buttons right and some very wrong, and i'm not even sure which ones, well, this should be fun...
Story: 7
So, Shinmai Maou no Testament follows our lovely MC Toujou Basara, as he is suddenly thrown in the deep end with his two brand-spanking new step sisters being demons, and what's that?!? Basara is actually a former hero from the opposing clan?!? WHAA-? As you can see, these *cough* innovative *cough* introductions basically

plot out the course of the show, with the introduction of new characters at frequent intervals, and the big finale practically writing itself. The story isn't bad by any means, but the depth is worse than the shallow end of the kiddy pool. I can't say a huge amount more without spoiling the outcomes for some characters and how they fit into the final battle but I will say that plot-wise, it kept me watching, and probably will keep you watching as well, that it because 90% of your attention will be set on the abundant fan-service scenes with lots of uncensored boobies!
Art: 6
So the art is average, characters are very generic looking, and as much as it looks alright, it's easy to get bored looking at it. If you've seen any other magical, demon, supernatural, ecchi show like this, then you'll instantly recognise the magic insignia's that appear when attacks are launched, the sparkling effects of weapons appearing and dissipating, stuff like that. Not to say it hinders the art style, but it's not hard to say it's overused. Animation is about on par with a lot of shows involving a story such as this one, it's good enough, but won't blow your mind. Also boob jiggle physics animation is on point.

So the opening of this show is fucking amazing, absolutely loved it, the ending is fairly good as well so you've got that to look forward to when you start each episode. SFX is as expected, metal clanging sounds and magic blasting sounds can be picked out and heard in various other anime but really it still sounds good and adds the intended effect. Voicing for most characters was fitting, one character though I wish had more dialogue simply for his voice actor is Jin Toujou, Basara's father. Keiji Fujiwara's voice is music to my ears. His voice and the OP managed to bump the sound up to a solid 8.

Well, shall we go through the list of generic characters that populate this and hundreds of similar shows? Yes? OK THEN! We have the shy, yet totally in love with MC girl. Perverted girl, who happens to be the loli character AND the comedic relief character. We have the cold-monotone voiced character who also plays the role of childhood-friend character. There's the hot sensei who gives MC advice. And there's a few more I really shouldn't have to list just because you know them already. These persona's respectively belong to Mio, Maria, Yuuki and Hasegawa. Oh, and there's the main character, Basara. Who is a lot like other MC's in that he would NEVER, EVER do anything lewd to his harem members, and gets all embarassed and what not when walking in on them, but he is very powerful from the beginning of the show, something that is used nowhere near as much as the good old "weak at the beginning and then gets stronger as more and more women begin to appear and fall in love with him" strategy most harem, ecchi, action, magical anime use. But it does work for our MC Basara in this case as he is actually a very good character with a mildly tragic backstory with a lot of experience, and they do show his experience throughout the show, which I did enjoy very much.

I'm gonna explain my enjoyment of this show with an analogy, imagine your really hungry, like starving, like about to keel over due to your stomach attempting to digest itself. You spot a fast food outlet, and next to it, a gourmet restaurant. They both cost the same amount of money. you can either go to the fast food place and get a quick, alright meal that tastes pretty good and satisfies your hunger, or you can go to the restaurant and order a magnificent 3 course smorgasbord of food that will take you to another world, but it will take a long time to prepare, and your hunger is getting worse with every passing second. You opt for the first option, this show is the first option. Shinmai Maou will satisfy your hunger for lovely pairs of uncensored boobs and fan-service, you'll get it quick and easy because they're in almost every episode, and in the end you know you could have gotten something better. But you don't regret getting the fast food, because it did it's job, it could have done it much better, but you are no longer hungry. Hopefully that made an ounce of sense to some of you reading this because I really do think it was a viable option in judging my enjoyment of this show.

All in all this show was good, but it wasn't very good, or great, or a masterpiece, just good. I enjoyed watching this show and I am going to watch the second season simply because I don't regret watching yet another tit-filled harem with generic characters, as odd as that may be, i've seen a fair amount already. If your looking for something like what the synopsis describes, and don't mind the bountiful fan-service, then watch it, but for those who can look at the cover art, the characters and the synopsis and can already predict the story of each episode, this show might not be for you, unless of course you're into this kind of thing then by all means watch away with pride. Like I said at the beginning of this now much longer than I intended review, this show hits some buttons well, and others not so much. And it won't resonate well with everyone regardless of how many similar shows you may have seen already. But for what it's worth, Shinmai Maou no Testament will make you laugh at it's stupidity, and then make you laugh more at it's boob physics. And once it achieves that smile from you, it's done it's job well enough I say.

Sora no Method, or Cosmic Method, was a show that, when airing begun, didn't really attract much attention, but for the people that have watched it or plan to soon, this show is a very lighthearted slice of life that won't blow your mind, and it certainly won't resonate with everyone, but for what it's worth, i'd say it did it's job pretty well.
Story - 7
The story isn't incredibly groundbreaking, but one word that i feel can be used quite effectively is unique, the story follows Komiya Nonoka, a girl that, at the best of times, is quite inspiring, and at the worst, annoying

as hell. She has moved back to her hometown where a saucer occupies the sky. The saucer was called by Nonoka and her friends when they were kids, and now Nonoka embarks on a emotional journey with her childhood friends, as they all become more and more entwined with the saucer and the mysterious girl that came with it.
Art - 7
Nothing amazing in the art department, Animation had a really nice water colour look to it in my opinion, and the hair of almost every character was something i really liked looking at, the eyes however, not really, i like big eyes as much as the next guy but i don't know, something about the lighter shades at the bottom half of characters eyes just didn't look very nice to me, but then again, i am a picky person when it comes to eyes. Everything else was so-so, as aforementioned, nothing amazing, but it certainly isn't bad to look at.

Beautiful ED, pretty good OP, music in episodes was average, what you'd expect from the kind of show it is. That ending theme though, god that was great, I know a lot of shows do this but when I heard the start of the ED fade in at the end of each episode i got a little excited and, well, tried my best to sing along (we all do it, don't try to deny it). The OP was alright, I don't think it really displayed the right sort of scenes at time though, like when Nonoka runs onto the wharf, and turns around to see Noel, her face drops into despair it looks like for a second, i don't know, maybe it's just me but i found sometimes the OP didn't really fit the cheery song sometimes.
Characters - 7
Most of the characters in this show were your averagely generated attitudes and personalities, you've got the stubborn one (Shione) the energetic one (Yuzuki) the nice one who accepts everything (Koharu) and the one who seems like they don't care but they really do in the end (Souta). As much as my descriptions might not be top notch, that's how i saw most of the characters, not to say that in a negative manner though, i enjoyed the dialogue between most of them, expect for Shione and Yuzuki being absolute bitches to Nonoka at first, that annoyed me a little.
Enjoyment/Overall - 7
Overall this was a very lighthearted show with some magical aspects about a group of friends going through what friends go through, mix in a cute loli with blue hair who is just the god damned cutest thing ever, i mean come on, Noel carried the comedy in this show, and you've got yourself an upper average slice of life that gives you a warm feeling with each episode, a smile at the nice ending and enough cutesy dialogue to make you see it through to the end.

Hunter x Hunter, shortly after completing this masterpiece I finally figured out why it's even called that, despite knowing almost nothing about this show going into it, with my only key words being "shounen" "action" and "very very long". But now, 148 episodes of pure epicness later, I can say with extreme confidence that this is one of the best anime made to date, and why it should take up a spot on your favourite's list.
Story: 10
Wow, what an absolute adventure, the story may not grasp you in the first few episodes, but once your hooked, you can't stop. HxH follows the story of
...
Gon Freecss, a young boy who plans to embark on a journey to find his father, who abandoned his son to become a hunter, an occupation in their world which constitutes doing whatever you want, as long as you do it well. Gon takes on the hunter exam to become a hunter himself, to firstly see what it's all about. During the exam he meets fellow exam takers Kurapika, Leorio and Killua, who all have brilliant back stories and motives. (with the exception of Leorio, no dark stuff for him) Gon quickly makes friends with all of them, and the story proceeds with their adventures together. The story consists of about 6 arcs, varying in length, and all feature different characters with fantastic roles. All these arcs can sometimes feel slow to get into after finishing the previous arc, but as aforementioned, once it grabs you, you can't stop. One of my friends who had been watching this as it aired described watching it only once a week as "hell"
Art: 9
The art of HxH is fantastic, far better than the original (although that is expected) The character designs are fantastic, and keep the best aspects of the original artwork, while maintaining a good design. The fight scenes of this show are absolutely stunning, all the colours and vibrant punches thrown never get old, and with the surplus of surprises in the story, the artwork simply compliments the already perfect flow of the anime.

Ah, but in all seriousness that opening will never feel boring, and will never be skipped. Both versions of "Departure" are fantastic, and suit the show so well. Now the endings though, these blew me away, especially "Hunting for your dream" played through the Yorknew City Arc, was just too good, I listened to that song everyday, and still do, the ed for most of the Chimera Ant Arc, "Nagareboshi Kirari" was also fantastic. Amazing choice of music, and the ambient, suspenseful, happy, sad, and every other kind of music used in this show could not have been better, created one of the best atmosphere's every episode.
Characters: 10
Loved almost every character that was introduces throughout this series, even the bad ones like Hisoka, Chrollo, the Chimera Ant King, Etc. The way that all the character's interact with each other is just amazing, they all have their ups and downs, but sometimes you get those badass moments where you can't help but just get this feel-good feeling in your stomach as they obliterate their enemies and save their friends. The relationships between some of the characters, the most obvious being Gon and Killua, is incredible, the friendship between them is questioned throughout the whole series, and there are so many obstacles they must overcome in order to stay friends. The struggles only make the beautiful resolutions feel that much better.
Enjoyment: 10
It took me a little while to get into the chimera ant thing at first, every other arc was just amazing, can't complain about anything else. Enjoyed every minute to the fullest.
Overall: 10
If you haven't watched this series, do it, you will 100% not regret it, if you are daunted by the high episode count, watch it arc at a time, and savor the moments that feel best, because when you've finished this anime, the amount of satisfaction you feel inside is only matched by the emptiness of realising it's over, so take action now, and embark on your very own journey of Hunter x Hunter!

DISCLAIMER: This is my FIRST review, there will be as many spoilers as there will be hate: NONE. This review will also cover BOTH seasons of Code Geass, although it is posted on the first season, i'm not prepared to write separate reviews, if you have seen the first season but not the second, this review will not spoil anything, but might include minor references to the second season. genius student named Lelouch Lamperouge, who, when competing in a chess match against a Brittanian aristocrat, is caught up in a supposed "terrorist" attack, after a short series of events Lelouch finds himself at gunpoint by Brittanian soldiers, he is to be killed, but a girl named C.C, the item stolen by the terrorists, grants him the power of the king; Geass, the absolute power to bend anyone to your will. After acquiring this unique power, Lelouch realizes what potential it holds, and begins to change the world, one step at a time. He is taken on an amazing journey, meeting many new characters who all play a significant role throughout the 2 seasons. He uncovers the truth about others, and hides his at the same time. The story line of Code Geass is magnificent, dark, humorous and unique, definitely a recipe for success.
Art 8
The Art style of Code Geass is questionable, while it does not affect the flow of the story, nor is it badly done, but some may find it odd, I personally have never seen an anime with characters quite this thin, in fact I have a friend who likes to mock the art style, nevertheless, whilst the art is, as aforementioned, questionable, it really didn't have an impact on my enjoyment, nor should it on yours.
Sound 9
The voicing of Code Geass was brilliant, People like Lloyd Asplund, the cynical manager of the Lancelot Knightmare Frame, have a very suiting voice to fit his attitude and personality, while he doesn't play a main role, I always enjoyed his dialogue. The rest of the voices are generally great, with a few miscellaneous characters with minor dialogue being meh, ok. The Openings of Code Geass were always something I looked forward to hearing, especially COLOURS (1st OP). The ending credits songs were so-so, but were never bad, and I never skipped them. The music played throughout the episodes also give the ambient atmosphere that suits the anime. A fantastic score of musical talent expressed in Geass.
Characters 10
The characters of Code Geass have made me change the way I act in my life, especially Lelouch, his melodramatic and sometimes sarcastic tone when he knows he has won is just so good, his evil laugh *cough cough Light Yagami cough cough* is fairly sincere as he slowly goes mad with his power. C.C was the other character who I felt, despite being a main character, didn't make as big of an impact in some parts of the show as I had hoped. Battle scenes where Kallen and Suzaku are fighting, things are blowing up, etc. etc. Lelouch and C.C are there in the Gawain, Lelouch might be laughing or stressing, but C.C is just there piloting, asking for commands and giving information. Plus i'm pretty sure a romantic (using that term lightly) story was brewing between Lelouch and C.C, and while this is certainly true when you google "Lelouch and C.C", I had high hopes for a more intricate look at this, but to no avail. All other characters were portrayed very nicely, with the same exceptions as the sound section. A few unnecessary characters with insignificant roles, but despite that, C.C and Lelouch brought it home for me.
Enjoyment 10
Does anything need to be said here? 10/10 enjoyment, loved every aspect of this anime, I watched this after finishing Death Note, and after loving the likes of Light Yagami's intelligence and various schemes, I was pleasantly surprised to find 50 episodes of action with a main character more cunning and courageous than Light ever was.

This anime will forever hold a place in my heart, and while dreaming that I could have the power of Geass embedded in my left eye, I don't see that happening anytime soon... This is one of those anime that no matter what kind of person you are, no matter what kinds of anime you like to watch, you can't go wrong here, if you are influenced by reviews and ratings, there is no excuse for you not to watch this, influenced by your friends or people around you? Same applies, even if you don't like supernatural occurrences or massive mechs in your anime, you will enjoy Code Geass to some extent, while others (including myself) loved it to the point where you rate almost every aspect a 10/10.
