I would have posted a response in the thread, but my initial response was removed so I don't wish to bring it back.
I will admit that the thread is borderline, because it was an individual making a request for something. However, since the OP did not give any specifications as to what he was looking for I didn't see much reason for it to be given its own thread. Which is why I made a post pointing out the previous threads.
I wasn't really trying to be obnoxious about it either, I merely wanted to be humorous. I certainly thought it was amusing, and I am confident that I am not the only person who felt the same way. At the same time, I can appreciate some may have found it obnoxious. To those people I can only say that was not my priority and I was merely trying to spice up what would have otherwise been a drab and uninteresting post about the rules.
The OP's response (it has since been deleted) though did annoy me, because I think if someone comes here they should at least try to obey the rules.
As for the rule itself, personally I think it is a rather silly rule too. It pretty much castrates the GD forum since any 'big' topics have been discussed at length before and all that is left is the occassional news story. However, it is still a rule and had the mods agreed with me they would have locked it anyway, so I thought I may as well put it out of its misery there and then.
Anyway, I just wanted to take the opportunity to defend my actions without placing myself in the firing line a second time.
Hmm, well if you've run through Pale Cocoon and Eve no Jikan then I suspect you already saw Mizu no Kotoba.
If you liked the feel of those anime, try Mushishi. It's not futuristic science fiction, though. I haven't seen Ergo Proxy much, but from what I did see, it does have that cyber punk feel to it like those others.

-Oh, and my apologies for the tl;dr comment.
