hihi! sorry i'm responding so late omg! i'm barely ever on here now ;;

Hmm I play a lot of phone otome games, so I find all of them through Google Play (for Android). My favorites are Sleepless Cinderella: Party, Contract Marriage, Sweet Scandal, and Idol Dormitory. There are LOTS of others though; Arithmetic (the producer of Contract Marriage and Idol Dormitory), OKKO (producer of Sweet Scandal), Voltage (producer of Sleepless Cinderella), and NTT Solmare Corp. are the biggest English otome game producers. NTT Solmare Corp. has a whole series of games called "Shall We Date?". If you don't want to pay for otome games, then all of Arithmetic/OKKO's are free. Voltage has a few free games, and their titles all end with "Party." And NTT Solmare Corp.'s free games have a + at the end. Hahaha sorry for so much word vomit, I'm pretty obsessed with otome games. :D

I watched a lot of Diabolik Lovers s2 for the same reason, except at one point it became too abusive for me to laugh off. Dx Still, shitty reverse harems are the best. I recently picked up Brothers Conflict again, and it's so bad it's good.

Yeah, that teacher definitely has selective vision or something. He didn't even seem very upset about it when Satoru asked him about it. Hmm the more I think about it, maybe he is suspicious?? There's also the fact that Satoru's quiet friend was in the teacher's office at the end of the episode. I wonder what that's about. I also wouldn't be surprised if that man at Kayo's house wasn't even her dad. Perhaps he's just her mom's boyfriend--that's a pretty popular cliche, and it would be a plausible explanation for why he didn't give a shit about her. Still...what kind of monster is okay with a child being abused? :////

Honestly, Satoru as a child is the cutest thing ever. He has this cute way of talking!! Maybe if he remains a kid for long enough, his mental age will regress a little too? Or maybe that's what's happening? Either way, like you said, their relationship is adorable. Ahhh I nearly cried when Kayo smiled at that Christmas tree. :')

Hmmm after watching episode 3 of Grimgar, I really think someone is going to die. I think it might be Manato, and I'm just not ready. I know something bad is coming. T_T

Hahaha honestly I think the girl in PoS lacks character because the anime is adapted from an otome game. I don't know if you play otome games, but I play a LOT of them, and most of them have really generic heroines. I'm watching this other otome game adaptation right now called Norn9, and the heroine is absolutely insufferable. (It's horrible lolol, I'm just watching because it's hilarious in an ironic way.)

Yeah same, family issues hit me really hard. I can't handle that kind of stuff, but on the other hand, I kind of appreciate that it gets addressed in anime every now and then. There was a brief segment on child abuse in one of my favorite manga, Aishiteruze Baby too, and it was really powerful for me. :'( I agree that the Sensei alarms me a bit. I don't know if I'd say he's the killer, but it really infuriates me how passive he's being about the entire issue. Like dude, Kayo is getting abused. She comes in every Monday with bruises, limping. Her physical, mental and emotional health are in jeopardy, and you just want to "WAIT FOR CHILD SERVICES"?! Ughhh it makes me so mad!!
psychoalchemist Jan 17, 2016 7:39 PM
Oh true, that "No I really am fat" thing was a little annoying. Like Ranta said, there's nothing quite as annoying as a skinny girl calling herself fat... That said, I think Shihoru is a good girl, even if she's ridiculously timid. Not sure if you've seen Episode 2 yet, but the first half had an intense scene. I was pretty impressed.

I hope PoS does bring more training into the show, because like you said, it feels a lot more rewarding when characters have been working up to something. Like in Haikyuu!!, when Hinata and Kageyama finally nailed their new quick. :')

Hmm I'm still enjoying Dagashi Kashi, but I understand the feeling of finding an anime....unfunny. That's how I felt about One Punch Man, Tsuritama, Nichijou, and Shirokuma Cafe, so I get the feeling. It's kinda frustrating. Hopefully the humor improves for you next week! D:

Yeah, I wasn't sure what to think of Sotaru's mom when she first showed up, but it's clear that they have a close relationship. It was really touching to see little Sotaru cry while eating dinner. Ughhh I'm a sucker for close parent/child relationships TT_____TT
psychoalchemist Jan 15, 2016 9:44 AM
Oh yeah Dagashi Kashi was really enjoyable! I agree that the art is a little weird, but it's not necessarily bad, just different. I thought Hotaru would be the main character, so I was kinda pleasantly surprised to see the main character was an otaku. (Hahaha naturally I can relate to such characters.) And he does seem like a dense good guy, but he also has a bit of cynicism in him. I love me some cynical characters!

I also agree about Prince of Stride; so far it's jumping straight into the "you can do it if you try" sports anime trope, and I hope to see more than just that. That said, I like the minor characters a lot, and the moment in episode 2 where they finally got the relationing right was pretty exciting for me.

Ooh I'm glad you liked Hai to Gensou no Grimgar! I didn't think it had SAO feels at all either, unless people are counting the very vague game-ish premise. The whole thing about them accidentally saying phrases they didn't understand--like "I don't have my cell phone" or "this isn't a game"--was pretty cool. The fact that none of that stuff exists in Grimgar makes it highly likely (in my opinion) that they are stuck in a game world, although I don't know how they got there. And I kind of like that they're not naturally skilled at fighting and stuff; it's more realistic than characters who can master everything easily.
psychoalchemist Jan 13, 2016 8:04 PM
Haha I agree about Prince of Stride, it can't really hold a candle to Haikyuu!!. I'm enjoying it though, and the whole relationing concept seems really exhilarating! It's apparently adapted from an otome game, so I'm not too sure what to expect??

I was really impressed by episode 1 of Boku Dake ga Inai Machi!! A-1 has consistently ruined mystery anime for me so I'm a bit pessimistic, but the premise of Boku Dake is so interesting. It was my favorite pilot episode of the season, so hopefully it holds up! :D

I'm still sampling a bunch of anime for this season (I think there are 14 right now?) but my other favorite pilot episode was Hai to Gensou no Grimgar. The art was so gorgeous, I loved the characters, and the character designs were really cool! Some people called it an SAO ripoff since the main characters are trapped in a mysterious world that looks like a game, but I feel like that's an unfair comparison. (SAO isn't the first anime to take place in a game, after all...) Episode 1 had a relaxed, slice of life feel, so I fell for it instantly. :)

Are you planning to check out any other shows?
psychoalchemist Jan 12, 2016 2:28 PM
I like to think that the characters' charm still came across, but it's definitely better delivered in the manga. I feel like Mizuno-sensei pours so much love into the manga, while the anime is barely getting any attention from Production Reed. Like you said, this is one of my favorite manga, and I wanted so much better for it. :( I have seen people on Tumblr getting interested in the manga though, which is a plus. :)
psychoalchemist Jan 10, 2016 3:08 PM
I agree. I actually still think the character art is sub-par, but you're right that the animation doesn't feel right. Some scenes outright looked like they were missing frames:

I definitely prefer the manga over the anime any day. It's more visually appealing in my opinion. ;_;
psychoalchemist Jan 5, 2016 8:01 PM
Well, I think 15 minutes is still enough time for the anime to follow the source material. After all, even Diabolik Lovers season 1 had a plot, and it had a 15-minute runtime too! But I agree that it won't get nearly as much popularity as a shorter series. I'm still worried that the art/animation won't be good; the PV was better than the character designs, but it's not amazing. But my biggest hope for the anime is that it attracts readers to the manga, and I think that'll definitely happen. The characters are pretty charming, after all. :)

Update: The airing date was released a couple days ago! Episode 1 airs on January 10th. However, apparently the episodes will only be 15 minutes long. :/ The airing time--2 seasons--kind of makes up for it, but it's still disappointing. It's categorized on AniChart as a short now. :(
psychoalchemist Nov 29, 2015 2:46 PM
Not yet, besides January. Hopefully it comes out soon!

Did you see the latest news that the Nijiiro Days OP will be sung by the main voice actors? I'm pretty excited!! :D
psychoalchemist Oct 10, 2015 7:31 AM
No problem haha, school is really busy for me too. :(

The latest Nijiiro Days chapter was so exciting! Like you said, I really thought Mizuno-sensei would beat around the bush and take a really slow time developing Anna's crush, so thank goodness she didn't. But I don't get how Anna doesn't see that Nacchan likes her. Dx

I worry though, that since their romance is moving along, will the manga end after they get together? D: It would be nice if it keeps going, like Kimi ni Todoke did.

Sorry, I haven't gotten to try ReLife yet. :( This past week and this coming week are literally my busiest in the entire semester, so I haven't had any time. I'll be on fall break this Friday though, and then I'll get to marathon some anime and manga! :D
psychoalchemist Oct 4, 2015 10:26 PM
I agree, I don't really understand Mattsun's infatuation with Mari. I want him to be happy so I cheer for him anyway, but I don't think she's a good fit. There's a difference between being tsundere and just plain mean, and I think she's the latter. (Then again, I just don't typically like tsundere girls.) I know Mattsun says he's an M sometimes, but I feel like Mari genuinely dislikes him. That makes me pretty sad for Mattsun.

Did you read the latest chapter (24) yet? :D
psychoalchemist Sep 29, 2015 8:53 PM
Yeah, hopefully Matsuoka settles into the role. Aughh I wish there was a way I could vote him off!! Hahaha I'd totally do it! Dx Hmm my favorite used to be Mattsun, but I think he needs to be fleshed out more. I'd say my favorite is Nacchan; I just like how pure-hearted and sweet he is! But coming in close second is Tsuyopon; this moment clinched it for me! xD What about you?

Oh, I've heard of ReLife! I'll add this to my to-read list and definitely check it out sometime! School is really busy for another week or two, but I'll read it at the earliest convenience. I'll also check out the other one you mentioned; every now and then I get a kick out of reading shitty shoujo manga. xD
