School Days is an anime about how cheating on someone can really end up messing with their head and lives and how the human heart and mind are very fragile and how friendship is very precious and when destroyed in the worst way, it can have the worst consequences."
That's from one of the reviews of the series, That pretty much sums it up, It's one of my favorites series and you really can miss it, and another thing, If you start watching School Days don't even think about dropping it besides is only 12 episodes long..

Hehe, I actually watched it a few years back... but only just noticed that I had somehow not included it in my list. >_>
But yes, it was an awesome movie... looking forward to seeing how Ghost in the Shell 2.0 (the remake) turns out.
Personally, I enjoyed SAC even more than GitS... truly an amazing series. The Laughing Man has remained an icon for me, too.
If you're still obtaining it (well, if you're getting it in Japanese, that is), stay with Laughing Man Fansubs as much as you can. I remember them being the best ones... the subber start partway through the first series but to my knowledge was the only one to do all of the second season.
...I'm rambling. Sorry. SAC is just too wonderful to not get me to ramble. >.>
