my first anime which i knew was an anime was naruto, which is why it is very dear to my heart (and also why i will bear through the fillers and agonizingly slow plot...). the main reason i'm reading is to see naruto and sasuke reunite... i'm not even a yaoi fan and i want them together. T_T
i watch anime when i can and read manga when i can. i do have a (school) life, though, i'm not one of those kids that lives off this stuff. that's not to say i wouldn't like to. :D
i used to really hate manga because:
1. i could never tell what was happening in shonen fight scenes (i still can't...which is why i have to watch the animes, too)
2. i had no idea which panels to read first
3. i read them online, which was ridiculously slow (now i download :D)
but now i love it. maybe even more than anime. feel free to recommend any; i prefer completed series although really i'll read anything if it's high caliber.
my favorite band is big bang- look into them! you won't regret it :D (unless your testosterone count runs higher than your estrogen.)
i'm also a big fan of dramas- korean, taiwanese, japanese, i don't care. so far i've seen:
Hana Kimi (taiwan and japan)
Hana Yori Dango (taiwan)
It Started With a Kiss (taiwan)
They Kiss Again (taiwan)
Atashinchi no Danshi (japan)
Tokyo Juliet (taiwan) [dropped, too much angst for me]
Devil Beside You (taiwan)
Love or Bread (taiwan)
He Who Can't Marry (korean) [still watching]
Coffee Prince (korean)
that's plenty about me.
tell me something about you.
I thought atashinchi no danshi was really fun. It was pretty cheesy and overacted (like hanakimi and meichan no shitsuji) but I thought the silliness was actually bearable. I'd say check it out if you liked hanakimi and meichan :)
The atmosphere is great. If the idea of a futuristic cookie-cutter society where people don't exert free will along the lines of 1984 and Brave New World appeals to you, then you'll probably find the show fascinating. There are also some interesting ideas thrown around about religion, philosophy, and the human psyche. The psychological battles among the PROXIES are my favorite part of the show. There's nothing captivating about the show as a whole though, and if you're not enthralled by episode 8 or so, then chances are you'll never be.
pissed at ichigo, though i imagined it was going to happen considering ichigo is after the main character and ulquiorra is the bad one. i'll just keep ulquiorra in my heart XD
anyway.. more than that i'm pissed at the author for writing with less originality more and more.
If you're craving more, get the game. You'll get to see a bunch of stories that weren't in the show like Akio's, Sanae's and Hiiragi's (who didn't even appear once in the anime).
The movie. You know. It's really hard, to turn a great story like Clannad into...that. Uh, I wouldn't suggest it if you're "craving" Clannad, more like if you want to see every paradigm you held about Clannad shattered into a million pieces... but at least it won't contain any spoilers, now.
I guess you can watch it if you really want, but it not only is a failure as a Clannad adaptation, but a failure as a movie, period. The plot goes random, animation budget cutting, movie stills at inappropriate times (like a middle of a casual conversation), weird-ass scenes that repeat three times for no reason.
And Tomoya's father is the one who reunites Tomoya with Ushio. Yeah fucking right.
Anyway if you're interested in the game, I can hook you up.
Yes, I started Hana Kimi -- mostly for oguri shun XD It's been pushed to on hold though, as I'm currently eating up Nobuta wo Produce :D I really need to update my info.
Glad to see I'm not the only one XD Yes, Rui is definitely a close second. Especially with some of the scenes with him later in the second season <33
I can't remember the last time I've been to a wedding, so I can't really say what soundtracks I hear! I know they always play that depressing stuff from the 1940s any time the girl in leaving the house.
I remember telling someone that it was one of the few, FEW Indian movies where the boy didn't get the girl, and they didn't dance and sing happily ever after. I really did bawl when Dev died and the doors slammed shut on him. And I thought it was great they didn't have some stupid funeral scene and the movie just ended right when he died and the flame outed.
