"Zetman", the story of genetically engineered "creatures" who fight for the amusement of powerful men. The story is simple, clean, and to the point. There is nothing overly deep here, but there doesn't need to be. For a 13 episode series "Zetman" was loads of fun and not as predictable as one may think. Sure the characters were cliche but the direction in which the story takes us was fresh and fulfilling. Most questions were answered by the last episode and the ones that weren't didn't really important.
The character models were really well done. Facial expressions were well defined, noses were realistically shaped and,
...
lips were plump and rounded. However, color could have been used more rigorously while structural art was utterly forgettable with the exception of one or two scenes.
The opening theme is hit or miss. I enjoyed its simplicity and like Little John had little substance but nevertheless was fun to listen to. Ending theme was in my opinion very dull. BGM was okay and got a little better towards the end of the series as tensions rose.
It's important to take into account the brevity of the series as character development was hard pressed in a 13 episode action oriented anime. With that being said we see a very plot driven series whose character faults are forgivable.
Overall I would definitely recommend "Zetman" for someone who doesn't want to invest too much time but still wants to be entertained.

"C" gives us an in depth viewing of how the power of money can influence our future. I personally thought the very concept behind "C" was fresh and skillfully written. It was a very plot driven anime which managed to fit a very action packed well developed story into an 11 episode series. In fact, I would say "C" seemed to "flow" as if it were one long movie.
Although it could had been more refined in some areas the story was on point for the most part; and any plot holes were easily dismissed. For those who need an explanation for every little detail,
...
I'd say explanations were not necessary for this particular anime.
The colors used were vibrant. The character models themselves however were standard although this is not really a detriment.
The opening and closing theme songs were good, although not great. I was more interested in the BGM which featured a cello and other string based instruments.
Again, for being an 11 episode anime the main characters were well developed. Their reasons for participating in battle were clear and logical. The characters themselves were likable and although slightly archetype this doesn't take away from the overall plot freshness.
This was a well developed anime with the potential for a second season although I don't think there will be one. Overall "C" deserves a solid 8 for its originality and intrigue. Other review sites have rated this anime as only "good" but I feel it deserves better.

Possibly one of the best animated series in its genre. For a romance series you'd expect a lot of the usual high-school (I like you but I'm to shy to admit it moment). A really shallow and somewhat cliche archetype that's hard to escape. However, "Rumbling Hearts" goes far beyond its betheren to become a really "raw" and emotional journey that goes a little deeper and takes us into the world of three individuals struggling with their own inability to come to terms with their feelings ultimately leading to a very twisted and complex situation.

The story I believe without question is truly a masterpiece. Although to the detriment of the anime, overall it was a little to long. Episodes could have been condensed or even omitted completely.
The artwork is damn good… the character models are all well done. The animators did a great job in making even the unimportant characters unique …with the exception of a few.
The opening and closing music were ok; not much to comment here, the intro was an instrumental while the ending song sounded like an 80-year-old grandmother sung it.
**SLIGHT SPOLIER**
My only quarrels with the characters themselves are first detective Runge. Whose take on Dr.
...
Tenma’s alleged crime is flawed and highly suspect at best. His lame sense of logic could have been used to pin the crime on almost anybody.
Tenma himself could have been a little more interesting to. Throughout the anime, he's on this self-righteous mission to "slay" the “monster” he made the mistake in saving so many years ago. He spends the majority of the anime fleeing from the cops...at some point he actually had a rock solid way of clearing his name but instead he chooses to continue his search…It would have been better if the storywriters added some conflict in order to give Tenma a choice on whether to continue his search or prove his innocence. After all, isn’t this, what a real person would do? Isn’t that what Tenma’s supposd to be…aside from his gifted medical prowess, a humble average Joe whose trying to do the right thing.

I'll just comment on the story only because I feel this is most important. Firstly, I just don't understand why this particular genre (not mecha) but psychological drama has so many unanswered questions. Unlike "Gantz" the story was better explained and we at least know why they are fighting, and the ending was a lot better. However like "Gantz" an episode where everything was explained in it's entirety was missing. Even when one of the main characters explained how her and her brother ended up involved in this "game", her story did not explain some of the more crucial questions like...
(1) Who built the robots;
...
(2) Who was really the mastermind; and lastly
SLIGHT SPOILER
(3) If the robots can move remotely using the energy from "Zearth's" technology why do they need the pilots life force to function.

I's Pure was a refreshing tale of teenage romance. I personally enjoy the shorter romantic love stories because the writers have no choice but to make the characters more open an expressive to better move the story along. Romantic triangles in my opinion offer better story lines and a deeper emotional connection with the character...and they tend to be less erotic which for me can be distracting and often times distasteful.
The story offered a not so original plot line but for me it didn't take away from the overall quality. I felt the series moved along at a nice pace and effectively gave a
...
nice but not so thorough background of each of the main characters.
The art was very well done. The character models were well proportioned with eyes that actually fit on their heads. No watermelon sized breasts, and 3 inch waists. Aside from the characters the ambient art didn't blow me away but it did add a touch of elegance to the scenery.
The sound was quite good the intro song matched the series perfectly and the background music was also very pleasing reminiscent of the BGM from Chobits.
The characters were very well balanced; I typically end up hating at least one of the characters usually the female lead, but I found myself liking everyone. The male protagonist isn't as cowardly as some may think. I only say this because several times during the series he defended his actions and spoke quite candidly. A common trend in similar anime is the male leads always letting the girl go without properly clearing the misunderstanding, but this character did succeed at times. I also like the fact the he often says the opposite of what he feels. This trait made the male character seem more in control. The total opposite would be anime such as Zero no Tsukaima or Love Hina were the male lead gets treated like crap for the entire series and still ends up with female lead in the end.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this anime. If you enjoy anime drama without all the sex and needlessly violent female leads I think you will enjoy this also.

Note: I saw all 24 episodes including the 2 episode (OAV).
I feel I must redeem this anime from its horrible reviews. First off, I did not read the manga, so I can't comment on that, but for the most part this anime was really good. The story to me was relatively coherent and intriguing. The authors did a great job in intertwining all the main characters into the main plot giving each character a pretty good background story. The first episode in my opinion is just what I needed to really get me fired up. It was exciting and the fight scenes were well done.
...
The art was exaggerated but who cares they weren’t to the point of being hentai and it brought some uniqueness to the series. And I don’t think the anime would have worked well without the exaggerated breasts and curvy waist lines it made the fight scenes that much more fun, not because I'm a guy, but because its not the types of character models you see everyday in this particular genre.
The intro song was a little corny at first but some how I got really into it after the first couple of episodes and it grew on me. I actually ended up downloading it, it was well worth it. The ending song was quite good also, while the BGM was just okay.
There is quite a bit of character development throughout the series while the storyline progresses. Each and every character comes to some sort of epiphany throughout the series whether it be simply finding a reason to fight or to find a way to maintain ones family ties, or accepting ones fate.
For this anime's respective length and genre it was very enjoyable. However, one major flaw was the ending it was to open ended while nothing was really resolved. Frustrating enough it had me believing there would be a 2nd season of course there wasn't.
Overall, I would rate this anime at least a B because for being an anime that I myself must admit was not to interested in at first, but I was pleasantly surprised. A similar anime series to this was Kenichi which received a higher score but seemed to long to grab my interest. If I ever get around to watching it I'll be sure to write another review.

The story started out well for me, but to be honest it wasn't good enough to keep me interested for long. The problem with an anime like this is that there are hardly any common threads throughout each episode block. Every 3 or so episodes features its own storyline and while that may work for a title such as Jigoku Shoujo there is no balance between character development and plot to really engage the viewer. We hardly learn anything about the characters besides there occupation outside "ghost busting". And the female lead seemed too naive, which is pretty ironic seeing as that was the only
...
thing that kept her character remotely interesting. In the end, I watched 15 episodes and then skipped around a bit to see if things were getting interesting…they didn’t. After that I skipped right to the final episode just to see what happens in the final scene, that was about the extend of my interest.
The art work was reasonably good all the character models were well drawn and diverse. However, outside the ghost scenes the scenery was a little bland, nothing remarkable here.
The intro song was what initially grabbed me, it was haunting yet enchanting at the same time, but also made the anime way more appealing then it actually was. As for the BGM... to be honest I can't really recall much, but that goes to show you how much of an impression it made on me... very little.
The characters were actually quite appealing with the exception of the female lead and the male lead's sibling. The rest of the cast had very colorful personalities and made you wish that the female lead would just die and be replaced by one of the other female cast members. The female lead's personality could be characterized as foolish, bland, and naive. The male lead's brother could have just as easily been written out. He served no real purpose and was just there to prevent this series from becoming a harem anime.
I guess the enjoyment factor was there for the first 15 episodes then it became a complete bore. The characters weren't engaging enough, and the plot simply wasn't good enough to support the lack of character development.
Overall I would say this is a C grade anime that just isn’t fascinating enough to keep the viewer enthralled.

EHH.. ok I guess nowadays I really only watch anime to kill time because I have no money to go out, so I pretty much have become accustomed to the same old cliche. To start off the story was relatively good for only 13 episodes. The way they slowly added pieces to the puzzle definitely kept you enthralled. However, despite this the story was totally predictable and you had almost the whole story figured out about half way to two thirds through, again it was only 13 episodes so I guess that might be reasonable.
The character models where pretty good I think. Louise' light pink
...
hair almost made me overlook her incredibly overbearing, selfish personality, which is a common thread in anime of this genre. The background animation was so so at best with rip off's from Harry Potter.
The opening theme wasn't too bad and worked well with the story's basic premise of literally starting with a kiss. The background music was actually quite appealing and gave life to some of the short lived fight scenes.
The characters are where the anime looses points for me. The anime is utterly cliche with the same nice guy, mean girl act. Why is it that in 70% of the anime I watch the main protagonist always chooses the girl that treats him the worst, in this case the female lead treats the protagonist like a pet. For example, for all 13 episodes the male lead (Saito) sleeps on the floor on a stack of hey without even a blanket, while the female lead (Louise) sleeps in a luxurious queen size bed. The developers also focus to much on cheap laughs through excessive and unnecessary violence from Louise. To be honest it's not funny and it's just plain annoying I don't understand how they came up with 3 seasons. In a nutshell Saito is a cliche Mr. Nice Guy character who really has no real reason to even endure or like Louise, but still ends up with her in the end, even when there was another character whom he liked and was treated way better by. I just wish once that the protagonist would fall for the underdog instead of the romantically cliche female lead.
Despite it's clear faults I did have a few laughs and overall did feel good after watching it. However, This isn't something I would watch again. Well then again I probably will watch the 2nd season. But trust me their are loads of anime out there with way more depth than this one.
