I'll make this review short and simple. Watching this anime entertained me more than any other. It is hilarious, suspenseful, and all-and-all awesome.
The gore and vulgar language are over the top, as well as the plot, but it was just so much fun to watch. While the show is riddled with flaws (that I don't need to illustrate if you've seen this), and is far from a masterpiece, it will always be my #1 anime in my heart.

Plot- This is Berserk's weakest aspect. For the most part the plot is ordinary, but suddenly in the final episodes it seemed as if I were back in my childhood watching Aaah Real Monsters. The plot centers around a band of mercenaries, the individuals who comprise the band, the focal point being Guts, and their rise in power with the strife which accompanies it.
Character- A strong point in the series. The show presents many characters the viewer may develop his personal feelings for, but some of these characters are a tad flat and dry. Enjoyment- I enjoyed this anime and finished it in a day. The ...

Firstly, let me state this review may come off as sexist but I am indeed not a sexist. Now,
I'm ok with a typical tough anime girl. I'm ok with a tough anime girl with a gun. I am not ok with a tough anime girl with a gun killing dozens of enemies at a time. Gungrave, while made by Yasuhiro Nightow: the creator of the Trigun anime, has a very different flavor. It is much more real and serious. The series was adapted from the popular video game and tells the story of two childhood best friends, Brandon Heat and Harry MacDowell, and their rise of power in the mafia.

Trigun falls into the category that is shared by a few movies I've seen. This category is for things I've enjoyed greatly, but acknowledge aren't in the top tier. For example, I enjoyed American Psycho much more than The Godfather, however I of course was forced to rate The Godfather more highly because I know it's a better movie. This was true for Trigun as well and I enjoyed it more than most anime I've seen, most notably Death Note which I gave a perfect 10.

These are but some of the things by which one will be swayed while watching this anime. Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, or Rumbling Hearts, isn't your run of the mill anime. I'll sum up this contrived and utterly unentertaining anime quickly. This show is for
12 year old girls who enjoy drawing pictures of fierce cats on their binders named cuddles. It simply lacks any form of depth and its constant attempts at humor with over exaggerated gestures and reactions grows tiresome rather quickly. Avoid this anime unless you fit in the category of the aforementioned. |
