About 10-12 episodes into this season, I thought this is a show that is trying to do a number of different things but doesn't do a great job in any of them. For example, they try to put a lot of twists and mystery into the story like Death Note, but the story was much more predictable than death note. Quite a bit of fighting/action scenes but just good but not great. There were school/romance elements but nothing more than okay... also there are episodes that are funny/light-hearted but not really fit with the rest of the show.

The 2nd TTGL movie is a big improvement over the first one. More than half of the movie is based on new materials, making the story flows much better than the first movie.
With the new materials, they did a great job condensing most of the less important stories. There were a few exceptions, like Rossiu's story. But overall, they were able to preserve all of the epic scenes while maintaining a good story flow. However, there is one problem of non-stop actions. I felt the emotional impact is not nearly as much as the TV series. After all, there is only so much you ...

This movie recaps the first half of the TV series, with 90% r use materials and 10% new. It is still very much enjoyable and epic as it is TTGL. However, since most of it was reused materials, the story has serious pacing issues and the storytelling is very choppy. I'd argue even the new materials at the end the movie is worse than the tv series. Due to the shorter runtime, all of the side character plus Nia were not well developed, if at all. They did a good job developing Simon, Kamina and Yoko's characters though.

With mediocre art and good-but-not-great sound, Death Note has to win the audience with other things. There are very unique and likeable characters. But unfortunately, all characters are one demensional and lack depth. You only need no more than 2 words to describe each of them. Again, good but not great. What truly makes DN stands out is its story and the enjoyment come with it, at least for the first half. The first half of the story is a masterpiece. It keeps taking unexpected turns while making sense, and full of thrills. It becomes a bit sloppy between episode 17-20 but quickly peaks again

One punch man reminds me some of those successful hollywood action movies: visually stunning, exciting actions, good humor, one dimensional not-sophisticated but likeable character, predictable storyline, very enjoyable but not memorable. I enjoy watching these. But the highest score I'd give to this type would be 8. On top of these, I felt the first a few episodes were slow and repetitive.
Art 10/10 Sound 8/10 Character 7/10 Story 6/10 Enjoyment 9/10 Overall 7/10. I enjoyed the show and won't mind watch it again. But would go out of my way to do that. With a tighter story at the beginning, it will be an 8

A friend strongly recommended this series to me and insisted that I need to watch the whole season before drawing conclusion. While i think the season as a whole is bad. The last episode is pretty good, which gives me hope that the next season can be pretty good. So I will give season 2 a shot.

Oh boy, they finally stepped up their game after 2 good-but-not-great seasons. The last 2 seasons had some epic episodes mixed with boring episodes. This season has mix of epic episodes with very good ones. I enjoyed every moment of it.
Art 9/10: Similar to last 2 seasons. It is great but not yet the best in class. Sound 9/10: In addition to the existing sound tracks, there are some new excellent ones added that brings new variety and set up the mood really well. Also love the opening song a lot. Art 6/10: The art is just fine, similar to Bakemonogatari.
Sound 8/10: Top notch voice acting with great pairing music. However, no memorable soundtrack like 2nd season or some other series... Art 9/10: It is great, especially the actions during the critical moments in the game. However, it doesn't WOW me like the best in class.
Sound 8/10: Very good voice acting, good sound effective during actions, good music that help bring out emotions and some of the op and ed songs are great.
