update on my previous review on gintama ( the first season )
I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH ON WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH GINTAMA
It's nothing as people say, you don't have to watch 100's of animes before watching this show. It's pure comedy which fluctuates between all types of genres in anime. Although it would be a nice treat if you know about the mainstream animes the big shounens.
Also THE PLOT IS NOT SKIPPABLE although it revolves around comedic episodes for post of the season but the plot oh boy does the plot thickens. GINTAMA CONTAINS NO FILLERS. THE FILLERS IS WHERE ITS AT. DO NOT SKIP ANYTHING

OH BOY WHERE DO I START.
This manga is probably one of the best works of Urasawa san. hmm how do I explain it, ah it's one of those manga's that really pull you or make you want to keep reading it. It's a mystery manga which tells you how propaganda's play a major role in building a society. A mere kid's game can actually affect real adult-life and the future that one holds. Honestly, it's really fucking good you got to trust me on this. If you're looking for other works by Urasawa san, you should also check out Monster and Pluto. MYSTERY MANGA ENTHUSIASTS UNITE

Gintama is not for everyone. I'd suggest you drop it if you're not enjoying the initial episodes because the concept the whole show remains the same throughout.
If you decide to stick around and watch it, I present to you a masterpiece. Also it's not Gintama, it's Katsura! Character developement/backstories - 10/10 The fight scenes are a 10/10 The opening and the endings slap! Also you'll need alot of pop-culture knowledge to actually get the jokes. The arcs where the anime gets a bit serious really hit hard, I mean the anime is 99% a parody but when it does get serious, oh boy. Overall a 10/10 anime for me. |
