Sword Art Online (or SAO) follows the story of a crazy game maker who traps all these kids in a virtual game, and tells them they have to beat their way out to make it out alive. If any other their family tries to take off the virtual simulator (in this case weird future helmet things), the system sends a shock to their brain and kills them automatically. Also, if they die while in game, they die in real life. Our main character is Kirito, who like everybody else, is fighting to get out of the game.

of a virtual game where you're actually IN the game is an idea that's sparked the interest and curiosity of many people. I was honestly so excited to watch this anime when my friend recommended it to me because the story just sounded so awesome, and for the first few episodes it really was. However, the story progresses in such a bad way I can't even think of an adjective to describe it. The first problem is when Kirito IMMEDIATELY GETS A RANDOM SUPER STRONG SWORD AND IS SEEMINGLY INVINCIBLE AND CANT FIGHT LITERALLY ANYTHING ALONE. This makes the story lack any kind of suspense and basically Kirito watches all his weak friends die and he survives because of one random over powered sword. You think that's bad? Trust me it gets worse. He suddenly meets some also super strong over powered chic, and he tries fighting for her, but randomly loses to some guy who has an over powered shield (which blocks the super strong sword I guess), but in the span of 2 episodes suddenly Kirito and this girl are married and living together in the woods, and seem to have completely dropped the idea of (of shit I'm stuck in a game and could die any moment, we should hurry and gtfo). Anyway, a lot of other stupid stuff happens that makes you think "wait I thought your life was at risk here", and basically it's all just a big train wreck, and every interesting aspect drops out of the story.
Art (9/10)
If there is one thing I do like about this anime, its the art. All of the game graphics are amazing, and I love the detail and monsters and backgrounds and dungeons. I would probably play this game if it was real honestly. The fighting scenes are smooth, and the characters are designed nicely.
Sound (9/10)
Again, the sound is fantastic. The OP and ending are great, and all of the sound effects and voice acting are on point.
Character (5/10)
As I talked about in the story section, there simply is no development in the characters, and everything that happens is pretty unrealistic. I actually found all of the side characters a lot more interesting than the main ones. All of the characters honestly act like they don't want to go home, and some even seem to be settling down in the game???? As if they don't have a real life??????????//

I dropped this anime. I liked it until it just got annoying and unrealistic and repetitive.

Spare yourself, and just don't watch this anime. It's extremely overrated. I don't know how it has so many seasons and episodes. I don't know why its so popular. The concept and art are great, but the execution lacks a lot.

Noragami follows the story of average high school student Hiyori, who turns into a half phantom after saving the unpopular and widely unknown god, Yato from being hit by a bus. Yato is a minor god, who aspires to have his own shrine by doing any job needed for only 5 yen. He also fights evil phantoms who try to posses people into doing by things with his trusty regalia (a weapon that serves gods) Yukkine. Together, Hiyori, Yato, and Yukkine adventure through the city as Hiyori pesters Yato to return her to normal.

lot of people didn't like the story progression. In the first few episodes, it seems like the focus will be fixing Hiyori, but this almost gets pushed under the rug as we meet Bishamon, a major god of war that has some kind of grudge against Yato and wants to kill him. As they fight, you think "oh so I guess this is the main plot conflict then" (it also features them fighting in the OP as a main focus), but then we see Yato has issues with Yukkine, and as this takes up about 85% of the anime you think so this is the main plot then I guess, but then after all that is fixed, we meet some other god and things go crazy, but this is solved in like 3 episodes. As you can see, the story does indeed jump all over the place. Whether this is a good or bad thing is up to the viewer. Personally, I didn't mind it so much. I liked meeting all of the different characters and seeing a variety of things and conflicts. I know with the second season, Bishamon will be expanded upon, so I'm looking forward to that!
Art (9/10)
Ahh the art was beautiful. It was really detailed and all the phantoms were unique in design and everything was really nicely animated. The fight scenes were super cool, but really short as well. I'm hoping in the next season they will be a little longer. However, all of the past flashbacks are the same, and they seem to appear like twice every episode, so I got tired of seeing them.
Sound (9/10)
Voice acting was great. All of the voices matched the characters well. All of the background songs and OP are great. Ending is just alright.
Character (8/10)
In this anime, we get to meet a lot of great and interesting gods and regalia alike, and I really wish we got to learn a bit more about them. However, I love watching the comedic and supportive relationship between Yato, Hiyori, and Yukkine, so it wasn't a major problem for me. Both Yato and Yukkine go through some major character developments as well, so it keeps things interesting and fresh. However, Hiyori is a bit of a disappointment. Although I admire her for her determination and care for our male heros, she seems to just get in the way a lot and have a bit of a useless presence. I almost wish Yukkine was cut out of the story and Hiyori was the regalia, because then maybe she wouldn't had more of a purpose. However, as it is Hiyori doesn't have any kind of unique or interesting power or addition about her that makes her stand out as a character. You would think she would develop something or learn something cool considering all of the cool fantasy stuff that's happening around her, but I digress.
Enjoyment (9/10)
For whatever reason, I really enjoyed this anime. I finished it in about 2 days, and stayed up late to finish it last night. Personally I think it's a great short anime to watch.
Overall (8/10)
I thoroughly enjoyed this anime, but I think this big fantasy world may have been too much for just 12 episodes. I've heard that a lot of the manga story was left out of the anime, so maybe that's why it feels a little empty and rushed. However, I think it's worth a shot, and I'm sure the second season will expand on a lot.

I caught up with this series in a few days, and I'm so happy that I gave it a shot.
Pros: lovable and deep characters with ACTUAL human development and emotions, unique story line that includes blood, sex, and super humans known as "tagged", the use of a bad ass disabled main character, art that seems to improve with each new chapter, easy to follow fight scenes
Cons: sometimes confusing story line because of all the mafia families and the characters within them that intermix and mingle that can sometimes confuse the reader as to who is who and who is doing what and why (this

is pretty bad because all of the names are english names...), some racist depictions of black people, no regular chapter updates (because the author has an illness that leaves her hospitalized often), sometimes hard to tell what speech bubble belongs to what character, hard to pick up that Nic is deaf (not sure if this is on purpose or not, but he does sometime speak, and when he is signing usually a black speech bubble appears, but sometimes it doesn't so it can be a little confusing)
It looks like there's a lot more cons that pros (oops), but I love this series so much, and I can't wait for future updates.

First of all, this is NOT a true "sequel" to Kuroshitsuji 1. This anime takes place BEFORE the first Kuroshitsuji, so it's more of a prequel. Of course this is all unexplained, leaving the viewer in some confusion.
As with the first Kuroshitsuji, this series is NOT CANON with the manga. If you read my review for the first Kuroshitsuji, you'll know that I gave the first one a lower score because the plot was lacking. Unfortunately, this is also true with the second Kuroshitsuji.
Honestly, I didn't enjoy the characters or story line very much this time around. Many of the characters lack any development,

making them kind of bland and boring.
The story line will keep you entertained just enough to get through the series, but leave you with an unsatisfying and possibly confused feeling.
Again though, I may be biased in view because I read the much better quality manga first...

Honestly my biggest mistake was reading the manga and then watching the anime. The manga has a fantastic story line that keeps you on edge and the detail and quality of the art is something to be envied.
However, in comparison to the manga, to be quite frank, the anime is lacking. For some reason, the company decided to go on a completely different track than the manga, so about 90% of the anime isn't even canon. What a horrible mistake that was. For first time viewers who know nothing of the Kuroshitsuji world, the story line is confusing at best, and you receive an

explanation after half of the anime is already over, and even then things are unclear. Honestly the addition of extra characters and story plot annoyed me, and I found it irrelevant and just plain stupid. The ending is also extremely unsatisfying and doesn't even really make any sense in hind sight...
That aside, Yana Toboso worked on this anime as well, and if you've seen and/or read the manga you'll notice her additions right away. The art is high quality and detailed, and all of Ciel's outfits are different! T
The show is a good balance of action and humor, and you'll instantly fall in love with multiple characters as you learn more about them.
I gave this anime an overall 9 despite the non canon plot. Although, perhaps I'm a bit biased after reading the manga...
