Awww I'm happy you're getting long-term postions! More money, and more experience for the resume. :D I would like one too, but for now I'm happy doing day to day stuff. I just wish I had jobs more days of the week, but hey you take what you get. When's your long-term position start or are you currently doing it right now?
I worked today and tomorrow. Hope you enjoy your long weekend though. :)

I'm good! Haha Thanksgiving break will be nice. My brother is done with school next week until January. Lucky him. I start grad school in the winter. Class I need had a big enough demand for them to offer it in the winter. It's online and meets only an hour a week. That seems like nothing when it's 4.5 credit hrs. lol.

oh wow thanks! this is really cheap compared to grad school. and it's only 2 weekends. wow.
i'm still going to grad. school. i'm enrolled and all so i don't want to waste an year of my enrollment. maybe i'll do one of these too though, to get more credit. we shall see! :D

lol they were. since i knew most of them already. i student taught there so i knew all the 2nd graders from that and past subbing. knew the 1st graders for the most part from past subbing experiences last year. the kindergarteners i had were a little squirmy, especially these 2 boys. but for the most part they were good.

easiest day EVER. lol.
i basically just assisted homeroom teachers in the morning and part of the afternoon. and then from 2pm till when school let out i had a small group of kindergarteners and then a small group of 1st graders. and from 10:35am-1pm I had free time except for a 30 min. lunch duty. lol. i brought my book and read quite a bit yesterday.

i got a job on friday! yaaaay! it's an intervention specialist job too. i've never done one before so this will be interesting. then i got two days next week for 1st grade. yaaay! i have 2 days for kindergarten the 2nd week of november but i've been booked for that for a month. but yay for jobs coming up SOON. hopefully the lady at the other district (who probably now hates me b/c of what happened last thurs.) calls me soon. she calls me like once every 2 weeks or so.

awww. i'm glad your long-term assignment is going well. :) hopefully things pick up for me. i'm actually considering applying to work overseas next year. i dunno. i kinda feel like i need to get away for a year and grow up a bit. and asia is just dying for english teachers so i feel like i have something to offer to the kids over there. south korea offers free housing and reimburses your airfare so i feel like thats the best country. i'm still thinking about it since i don't have to apply till like april. we'll see what happens. :)

i'm considering finding a stable part-time job and not sub anymore. the sub caller of one school literally hates me. like last thursday she calls me at noon saying i was a no show for that morning when over a month ago she had called me telling me she gave me the wrong date. it wasn't the 15th but the 17th. well turns out the 17th was a saturday. so i call her back saying the 17th is a saturday and she was like. "oh sorry! it's not october. it's september! cancel whatever i had asked you to work in october." k so i took it off my calendar and worked the day in september. and then she accuses me of being a no show this past thursday! what the hell. i call her back and explain the situation to her and she says she doesn't remember any of that but she'll tell the school its her fault just this once. the other school i work for never has any openings when i check online (they don't use a sub caller). and where i student taught is so small and i'm not getting any calls at all for them. i dunno maybe things will get better. gah sorry for complaining.
anyways how are things on your end?

i haven't gotten any calls lately. and every time i check online for jobs they are all filled. ROAR. lol. hopefully things get better soon.

i got called by another district i don't sub for but they were wondering if i was interested in a long-term for 1st grade from november-christmas break. unfortunatley, the district takes like 50 minutes to drive to and i've heard people who have subbed there have horror stories of the school and kids. so uh yeah, didn't call the guy back.
i have no jobs this week. waaah. i did have one today and tomorrow but i was sick last night and cancelled today's (which also cancelled tomorrow's since it was for the same teacher). i still feel weird but i probably could have gone in. :(

has the FMA manga ended? i just noticed that they updated a final episode number for brotherhood--63. i remember you saying they were gonna keep making episodes till the manga ended so was just wondering. :) but the show is getting good. i loved the first season but the remake is just soooo much better.

um i haven't started. LOL. i was gonna start in the winter. but i found out the very first course i'm required to take is only offered in the fall/spring quarters. so i may have to wait to spring. they may offer it this winter if there is a demand for it though.

but no it's not any of the ones i work at. or i would know. haha.
it's scary. i mean someone at miami died because of the virus. i saw pictures in my paper today of students there wearing masks b/c they are scared. kinda glad we are no longer there at the moment.
