Well at first, the people I met here were really mean and abrasive. But now after about a year of living here, I've noticed that it's about 35% or 40% who are mean, and the rest are actually pretty normal people who mind their own business. The problem simply was, that the people I originally met were angry with their own lives, and took that anger out on anyone else who was healthy and wanted a better life.
A lot of Canadians are very nice, some are really reserved so they seem snobby but are actually just quiet and hardworking people. But sadly, I did find that just as many mean people exist, as do the nice ones. I guess it's a balance and we just have to be careful who we pick as friends.

That's definitely a positive way to look at the internet. People who do kind things online should be noticed just as much if not moreso than the people who do mean things. It should be shown that the internet is capable of both sides. Just as one person can use the anonymity to be mean, a person who is kind can use it to make other peoples lives better.

Thanks for the kind words. I think if more human beings were capable of saying thank you, even for small things like a napkin when you spill your coffee or for a review that made them interested or described how they felt about something (anime, music, whatever), then humanity would thrive and be healthier.
So let's hope our kindness catches on and people start getting the hint! :D

I am so beyond flattered that you found my review so compelling. I was in need of being reminded of the way I once was, and your one message, brought me back to the confident and eloquent person that I was just a year ago. I have had a VERY difficult year, with many changes, one of which was moving from the U.S. to Canada to be with my husband. The town I am now in, is a sad little town filled with very angry and hateful people who made me feel much less than because I am hispanic and from the U.S. I have, in many ways, lost my form of BEING. Thank you for making me think "Whoa, what did I write that was so valuable?!" because once I searched for it, I saw the real me in those words and in your thank you.
So thank YOU for helping me in such a huge way.
Thank you.
Nina

Definitely. I always love coming across one with exceptional heroines (sometimes not so noble but still interesting in the way they are portrayed). It really is too bad this doesn't happen more often. :(
