Mixed Feelings
This anime left me perplexed.

Yuasa is an acclaimed director, but the 9 first episodes oj Japan Sinks, if interpreted literally, are so absurd that I can only think about two options:

1 - The director used a lot of facilitations because he was lazy.
2 - He made it intentionally.

The story has a lot of scenes that makes no sense: ridiculous deaths (sometimes they are comical), a lot of coincidences and script facilitations, also, the characters reactions to tragedy are bizarre.

In boku no hero academia we have a lot of heroes, in one society where having superpowers is normal. Here we don't need to follow the hero's journey to become a hero, or maybe we need?

The art is very simple, however, I think this detail helps to make the manga's personality. Its conveys perfectly the feelings and messages from author to readers.

The story is a sequel from Hoshi Mamoru Inu. Both are peaceful mangas, both can take a smile from you, and make you cry, naturally, you just feel the emotions. Zoku Hoshi Mamoru Inu brings a great ending.

It's directly sequel, there are characters from the first part of history, and some new ones. The main ones are mostly people experiencing difficulty in their lives, ...
