Hi everyone on MAL, I'm mayonaka_oTAKu, 真夜ä¸ï¼¿ã‚ªã‚¿ã‚¯ in kana, or translated to midnight_oTAKu. I probably chose this username because I tend to do my otaku business at night, and to my luck, nobody had taken it yet. I also have an account at Chibi-OSTs.
What can I say? I'm 17 yr old high school student in Australia, blood type A (hah I was tempted to put it in) and I love all things Japanese. I guess that makes me a Japanophile? This is the closest thing I have to a blog I believe. Scrap that, go to My LJ, although there's nothing anime-related there

Anime
One of the loves of my life. I don't particularly have a favourite anime series, hence the blank section on the side. My genre range is pretty wide, I'll watch a genre to give it a try but there stuff that I don't want to watch e.g. yuri (I am a girl you know), sports-centred (it's fine if it's one or two episodes in a series dedicated to the characters playing sports though), mecha (besides Code Geass and Macross F) and dragged-out shounen series (culprits include Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Dragon Ball and such).
My first english dubbed series was probably Sailor Moon back when I was 7? First Japanese series was Tokyo Mew Mew (why????) but the obssession started from there. MAL I've only listed the ones I've watched in Jap, explains why I didn't put down Pokemon and Digimon. I don't even remember where I was up to in those.
Manga
Not really much of a manga person, I'm more inclined to read it if I had the actually volume in my hands, or downloaded by me (or mooched off my friends). I'd like to read more, but since I'm in my last year of high school, it'll have to wait. I tend to watch the anime then go to the manga to extend the plot.
The only series I physically own are Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode (I don't particularly want to set eyes on it again) and Shugo Chara! (currently five of the English translated volumes out of the 8 Japanese volumes). I'm such a sucker for mahou shoujo.
Seiyuus
I think some seiyuus do a great job, but my list on the side isn't limited to them (too bad you can only list 7). Others include:

Anime OP, ED, Drama themes and J-pop plague my playlist at the moment, I think I've loss a bit of faith in English music, don't know why... I love two Korean groups: Big Bang and DBSK/DBSG/TVXQ/ Tohoshinki what ever you want to call them.
Japanese language
Most of my Japanese I've learnt from watching tonnes of anime, dramas and looking up the kanji lyrics of songs. Even though I don't know that much yet, it's enough to watch an episode of something raw and vaguely getting the idea.
NTSF (insider joke) impulsely come to me for help (why???? I don't know that much yet!!!)
Technology
I'm a bit of a technology nut. I like reading about new and obscure pieces of technology. So what do I own? Philips GoGear 4GB MP4, Sony Ericsson Walkman phone, PSP (2nd generation), desktop computer running on Windows XP (no laptop for me until uni perhaps? The computer itself I've had since year 8) Specs: 1GB RAM, 256MB graphics card, 80GB hard drive, 640GB external hard drive and 320GB portable.
Recents addictions
- Johnny's Entertainment, especially NEWS, Arashi and Hey! Say! JUMP. Boy band central.
- Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ with Downtown (it's so sad that Macchan and Hama-chan don't get along as well outside of the studio...)
- Japanese Magazines. I've started to buy them now from Kinokuniya in Sydney (the only one in Australia in fact), but boy imports are expensive, the current state of the economy doesn't help either. NewType rocks, Popolo, Wink Up! and maybe Duet and Myojo? I swap with my friends, so it's not all bad. The extent of my understanding of Japanese leads to me actually know what's in the sections of the magazines...*nervous laugh*
- Akinator the Web Genius Try it out, keep an anime character or celebrity in mind (I think Japanese celebrities work... i don't remember) and answer the questions and he'll guess the character. Pretty accurate.
- Reading translations of JE interviews, you can learn so much about their personalities and in Wink Up!'s Q10, comparing the drawings done by NEWS members is so damn entertaining.
- Aegisub, I'm still trying to work out the kinks to this. I can typeset and time though. But karaoke is another issue...
