I feel like the hentai-with-a-story genre got extinct around 2002-3, so this one might be one of the last ones ever. It was really sad to find out that this is pretty much a pilot.

Even though this is from 2006, it looks like it was made around 2001 or earlier if you look at the art style. The story starts out as a comedy and gets serious midway. You get al the tropes of the genre: rape, blackmail, a nonsensical plot, stupid jokes, lolis (although no sex), violence, virgins and foursomes. Just pure freedom of creativity. Nostalgic, isn't it?

Animation was pretty decent. There ... is a short fighting scene that surprised me in that regard. Anyway, even though the story was what you would expect from a low budget hentai, it got interesting towards the end and it's a shame that there wasn't even a 2nd episode, but understandable considering the time this was released.

After being delighted by this amazing anime series, I had decided to write a review. There were already a few that recommended it, so I forgot about it. However, I've been thinking about Maico a lot since then. It truly is the hiddenest of gems of 90s TV anime.

The episodic nature of the series allows it to have small plot-lines that are quickly forgotten, but there are many continuity details that provide style and character to the story. Also, the stars of the show are definitely the characters, some more than others, and they have stereotypes that you hardly ever see in other animes. ... They are extremely flawed too: angry, lazy, greedy, violent, bullies, anti-social, indifferent, talent-less, egoistic, unhealthy; just very toxic personalities. Maico, on the other hand, is the sweetest and most innocent character ever. The show is very funny too! The format will remind many about the The Office. During the last episodes, some of them take a serious, emotional and sad tone (Evangelion-inspired maybe?)

Art is late 90s but it clearly isn't top quality; it has a sort of amateur doujin feeling to it, which I kind of like as it is representative of its era. Additionally, most of the backgrounds are CG designed, that will definitely remind you of many PS1 games. It's a pretty unique detail. Overall, the popularity and production quality of the real-life show is ironically similar to the radio show that they work at.

I usually don't write about the music in animes, but both the OP and ED feel surprisingly nostalgic for some reason.

I'm not a huge fan of TV anime; I prefer OVAs by far, but Maico and the cast managed to be entertaining enough for 24 episodes. Only one or two felt somewhat boring, but that happens in every show ever.

I've probably watched more than fifty 90s-hentai OVAs now, and I have to say, this is the most unhinged and batshit crazy (so far). Also, it might be the most comedy-oriented one. Still, 40% of it consists of sex scenes, which somehow manage to be funny most of the time.

There are countless references to Japanese culture, old anime, jokes and puns. You probably won't get most of them unless you are from Japan or just a hardcore otaku. This is obviously seldom pleasant, but personally, I still appreciate media specifically made for the JDM. This OVA was based on a H-PC-game, like many others from ... this era, which makes it even more Japanese-y.

AND the ending theme is surprisingly good; very high quality for a hentai game. I wonder how the producers managed to convince the singer, who apparently is quite popular for his tokusatsu songs. Can this get even more Japanese?

Anyway, you know how it goes, the story is just whatever. Art is very representative of its era (2000-02), which is the beginning of computer-based graphics as opposed to the hand drawn art of the 90s. Sometimes the characters look deformed or "glitchy", which is a trait that you'll see on many low-budget titles of that period. I have to admit that it has a certain charm to it.

Overall, an incredibly unique H-comedy, in all of its aspects. Not particularly good, but unique nonetheless.

Before you watch it, I must warn you that the last 10~ minutes of the 2nd chapter don't have any subtitles; at the moment of writing this, I couldn't find any other English subs available. There are complete Spanish subtitles, though.

A short doujinshi that was sold at a comic convention, just like Mahou shoujo Diana and Yayoi, both of which I have already reviewed. All of them have a certain home-made amateur charm that I've never seen on other anime. They also have H scenes, and were discovered pretty recently, previously being lost media to the West.

There is a lack of voices and written dialogue, so a lot of things are left up to your imagination. There seems to be a storyline but all the scenes start and end abruptly.

Don't expect much, just appreciate the unique art style and wacky scenarios. I'd only recommend ... it to the hardcore fans of (really) obscure anime.

Pleasantly surprised by this 0-review, less-than-1000-members hentai. The art quality, voices, animation, characters, pretty much everything seems above-average compared to other similar OVA's from the time.
A murder/ detective story that has a bit of a convoluted and confusing plot, but the effort is appreciated. It constantly changes between goofy ecchi-humor and serious vibes. The main character is actually pretty funny and unlike any other lead that I have seen in other hentais.
If you're wondering about the sex scenes, there are only a few and don't add much to the story, just watch the last few seconds and you won't miss anything.
Also, if you're just ... starting to watch this immoral anime genre, I'd say this OVA is a nice starting point for story-driven hentais.

Few animes manage to capture the aesthetics of amateur 90s doujin. It reminds me a lot of Mahou Shoujo Diana, which has a similar origin.
The low quality, poor animation and unique art style combine strangely well together. The small plot is actually interesting, even though it's open-ended.

I never comment about music in my reviews, however the OST here will surprise many, with artsy-electronic pop and deep bass.

Truly a H hidden gem that only few will appreciate.

I've been watching a LOT of 90's hentai, not because of the sex scenes, but because I realized (after watching A Kite) that most of them actually have a story to tell, but are often overlooked due to the explicit content. This usually ends up being unimportant filler, with only few exceptions here and there.

And this might be one of the last ones of its kind. Not many hentais have 6, half hour episodes. You can tell a decent amount of ambition and money got put into this. Even then, you might find some animation glitches (I think by this time, PC software had ... just started to be used in anime production). Most fighting scenes are mediocrely animated, and the framerate is quite bad too.

On the other hand, the main characters have a lot of personality and the cast is quite varied. The story follows a villain-of-the-week format and a new love interest is presented in each episode. This episodic nature means the story doesn't go anywhere and whatever happened on the last episode you watched doesn't really matter. It is what I believe a pc-98 dirty-RPG plot would be like.

It manages to (sometimes) be entertaining, fast paced and funny, so there's that. I wasn't going to write this review because I'm not sure if I'd recommend it. However, it has 0 reviews and I feel like it doesn't deserve to be completely overlooked.

At the moment, this has no subtitles so I don't have much to say about the story. Art was cute but animation looks really low budget. However, I feel like it fits the overall aesthetic considering the origin of this short video.

I'd only recommend this to hardcore fans of obscure anime, even if it isn't translated yet. Maybe I'll update this review later if it does.

What seems to be a wacky comedy at first, becomes deep and serious after the prologue, dealing with heavy topics such as overworking to death, family issues, abandonment and depression. I think most viewers will shed a tear or two by the end.

Even still, you really never know if this short film is taking itself seriously, because the scenes changes from telling stupid jokes to drama or boring work meetings, and straight-up sad problems. It's an interesting critique of a salary-man's life in Japan. It probably still holds true to this day.

Animation and art were decent, nothing to write about, really. Still, the few ... seconds of fight scenes were surprisingly well animated.

Pacing can be quite slow for today's standards, so I recommend watching shows from this era at 1.25 or 1.5x speed if that bothers you.

I have a soft spot for pilots/unfinished OVA's, so I'm gonna give this mega-obscure hentai it's deserved first review.

Art and animation are pretty bad for '99 standards. I've just finished watching Office Affairs and the difference in quality is staggering. This was probably made back in 95 or something and released much later.

Still, the designs and backgrounds feel quite original; big cyberpunk vives (even a robot with a dick!). The story is batshit-insane, most of it is not explained and it abruptly finishes before the climax fight. Can't say it wasn't entertaining though.

I usually skip the sex scenes on hentai anime and just ... focus on the rest of it (9 out of 10 times they don't provide much to the story), but fans of them will be sad to know that this is full-on mosaics.

I'd only recommend this to obscure OVA's fans that can withstand the bad quality issues and look past the fallen tree(s).
