OVERALL: 8.4/10

I want to start by saying I didn't know this was a light novel. So I wasn't excited or anything that it was adapted to an animation.

I came upon this anime just flicking through the available animes on Netflix, after passing it multiple times I decided to watch it because the art was pretty appealing. I watched the first episode and I didn't like it too much. So I put it back into the shelf. I did this two more times. Finally on the 4th time I decided I'm going to watch it because I was running low on good animes to watch, ... and I was done re-watching my favorite animes. I was appalled in the end how good it was. I was tearing up a bit in the end.

Story: 7/10
With no knowledge besides the quick synopsis from Netflix of the story I have to say the story was good. Only good because the story was slow in the beginning, that's why I had trouble wanting to continue the anime after episode one. Finally when the background story kick in did I start to understand more. Plus I never really expect animes with 12-13 episodes to be majorly awesome but also knowing that they only had 13 episodes in which they did a pretty okay job trying to give us viewers a good watch. The story developed fairly well given the 13 episodes.

Art: 9/10
I actually like this type of art for this type of anime setting of European, British, Japanese combination. I don't have much to say besides the expressions of the characters but I guess everyone did just come out of a war.

Sound: 10/10
The sound and OST in this anime was amazing. I loved it!!!!

Character: 7/10
This is kind of the same as story. The development seemed slow, but after getting some background knowledge of the characters did I see them start to develop and grow. I loved watching Violet become a person of her own. As for the other characters it was nice to see their views open up and change because they met Violet.

Enjoyment: 9/10
I really enjoyed Violet Evergarden. I did not expect it to be so good. I'm kinda glad it ended at 13 episodes because I wouldn't know what she would do. Now I just imagine her helping others write letters. Assuring peace through those letters. Making friends with Dietfried Bougainvillea, Gilbert's brother.

I kind of hoped Gilbert would be alive somewhere with a missing limb or something. But that's just the little girl in me wishing for fantasy happy ending. It would make the story less realistic if he was.

OVERALL:
I enjoyed this a lot, it made me cry a few times, and I loved the special episode too. Now there is MOVIE IN THE MAKING COMING FOR APRIL 2020 !!!! <3

Instead of watching the anime go read the manga. It's so cute and adorable. The anime is horrid.

Story: The story itself is okay, since I read the manga I understood but if I hadn't, the story wouldn't make sense. Jumping from one big moment to the next.

Art: The anime art is eeh okay. Didn't like all the extra little weird way you made each character. For example sometimes how they walk.

Sound: The characters' voices are a bit odd. For example when the characters were 13, they sound like they're already going through major puberty changes.

Character: I understood each characters' roles. But ... again it's always jumping from one big moment to the next.

Enjoyment: I dreaded watching this. It's not a fine piece of work.

Overall: I did not like this. I would not watch it again. In fact I didn't even bother to finish both episodes. It was poor work. Why would anyone decide to publish this. Just tarnishes the manga and author. JUST READ IT!!!
