Shirobako (Anime) add
Shirobako, a show that revolves around the anime industry itself. Pioneering in its themes.

To say that this show is entertaining is an understatement. Entertaining is not its only function, like the vast majority of today's audiovisual media. Shirobako is about something else... informing.

I'm a filmmaker, and watching Shirobako brought me to tears more than once. A huge weight of nostalgia. It personally resonated with me. And it will with all people who work in industries that revolve around making "art".

During the episodes, we see our interesting protagonists go through a series of life, work and identity crises. Universal crises, typical of human beings.

What is my ...

Mixed Feelings
I’ll start up by saying that everyone in this show is a complete idiot. Then I’ll explain why, in spite of that, I gave it an 6.

Motoharu. A violent, abusive and controlling asshole. At the same time, a very troubled kid with quite a past, that probably suffers from PTSD that keeps him from having a healthy relationship.

Takahashi. An immature, jealous, boring and melancholic kid. Part of that jealously can be understandable, being her first love and all. But is that same jealously that, same as Motoharu, keeps her from having a healthy relationship. Also, her thoughts, that we hear out loud the entire show, ...

Nanami is in her room. Picking up the phone. Holding back. Holding back just out of fear.
"I know that feeling.", I say to myself.
And then I start imagining what she's probably saying to herself at that moment.
"What if I'm a burden? A nobody to her." I know that feeling. "Do I... actually... deserve her?"
Nanami never said this. But I'm pretty sure she thought about it.

At that moment, sitting in front of my computer, I wish she was real. If I could speak to her. If I could hug her, I'd calmly say:

"If you're lost, drown into each other's eyes."

Doukyuusei is a very simple romance story that will leave a big smile on your face.

Based on the very popular manga of the same name, this movie follows Hikaru Kusakabe and Rihito Sajou, two high school students of the same age, through their journey of self-discovery and their first love.

Story (8/10): Even tho this movie is good, the story isn't very deep or emotional. In real life first loves can be a very complicated thing, but not for these characters. The story flows as it should be, there's isn't a "dramatic twist" or a "love rival" or a "love triangle", this movie didn't need that ...

Mixed Feelings
For starters, Boku Dake ga Inai Machi is far from being a boring anime. It is entertaining, and until episode 10 it will keep you at the edge of your seat, however, the story doesn't make any sense.

Boku Dake tries very hard to be smart, but fails horribly. You will leave this anime with a taste of... "was it worth it?".

90% of the characters are very underdeveloped and have no motivation whatsoever. There are plot holes everywhere in the story. And the mystery behind the villain who kept the anime going for over 10 episodes is resolved in the most lazy and rushed way ...
