Story: Very straightforward plot line. There is very weak foreshadowing and is, at most times, quite predictable. In other words, it's a simple story that's uniformly recognizable.
Art: I, personally, found the animation to be slippery. "Slippery" meaning that there were a lot of coloring and errors within the simple movements of the characters. Though the "slippery" quality tended to get in the way of me watching the show, the gems within the show had to be the sequences with the fights and most of the training with Kenichi freaking out the entire time. couple episodes. There is hope.
Sound: FUNimation products never cease to amaze me and Kenichi is no exception. However, I believe that, the sound quality is too good for the animation that is provided in the show thus far. The casting and line producing were wonderfully orchestrated in all aspects. The voices match the character and vice versa.
Character: The main characters all seem to have a distinct personality but not to the point of complete predictability. The "bad guys" seem some what generic as well as some of Kenichi's own traits. These characters defiantly drive much of the story line.
Enjoyment: Over-all, this anime was/is fun to watch. The dub was what, honestly, got me through some of the poorly done animation sequences. The fighting sequences were wonderful to watch and you feel like you're learning along with Kenichi once you get into it.
Overall: Wonderful show to watch and to be introduced into the heavy shonen/fighting anime genre. The animation isn't up to par with the way it sounds and I hope that the story becomes more complicated soon.

Honestly, I love most vampire stories, but most of them seemed to be skewed more toward undeserving fan service or just complete disregard any original work about vampires. I'm open, though, to new ideas about strengths, weaknesses, and developing power(s).
When I first started reading, I was impressed and entertained by the artwork and the main male character's personality and style. The rest of the characters seemed like they were pulled out of a textbook for typical manga characters, nothing really special.
The concept for the story is a weak one, but the difference between this and so many other vampire/magic manga is how the mangaka

went about using the elements and telling the story. She seemed to realize just how much potential that the characters, coupled with the story concept, gave her. By the end of this manga, I was entranced. I wish that there was more.

If you are a vampire fan, werewolf fan, or just a lover of a good story, that this is the manga for you! This is one of Bisco Hatori's, the creator of Ouran High School Host Club, first published works.
Story:
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Great characters and a great plot with the twists and turns that makes you want to know what will happen next. Beautifully constructed and well placed foreshadowing. Unfortunately, Hatori had to drop this project to continue doing Ouran High School Host Club. This means that all that foreshadowing that was placed in the story perfectly is never used.

You can tell at the end of the 2nd and last volume that it was a dropped project. It ends on the "now that that's over, what will happen next?" note. (does that make sense?) I wish I knew how to contact Hatori so that I could ask if she plans to pick it up again when she's finished with Ouran.
Art:
If you read the Ouran manga, you can tell that this manga was developed during her beginning stages as a mangaka. Therefore, her art is a bit lacking compared to Ouran, but is still VERY enjoyable to look at.
Character:
*fan-girl squee* I love them all! Chiyuki, Toya, Satsuki, and Yami-Maru are all amazing characters! Well-rounded and deep characterization; so much so do you feel that you really know these characters. Sadly, due to the abrupt ending, you don't get as much back story (mostly on Yami-Maru and Toya) as anyone would want.

Overall:
Wonderful! Amazing! Beautiful! WHY DID IT STOP?!! I really do enjoy this manga from the bottom of my heart! I hope that you at least give it a try!

Story: I loved the story for this show. It was creative and active with the reader, but did tend to feel a bit repetitive. After so many episodes of Dark stealing stuff from museums and the polices' complete idiocy when it came to security measures, you start to get bored. Thankfully, after a couple of episodes of total filler, there is a plot that comes to surface. The story, at it's core, was very clever and exciting, but it did have it's "you-can-tell-that-they-were-trying-to-eat-up-time" moments. Overall, it was a very good story, one that would've done well as a novel in the U.S.
Art: This show is

based around an art thief and families of artists or of people who collect art. You think that they'd spend a bit more time on the animation of this show. Many aspects of the animation bothered me, such as that the style in which the main characters were drawn in changed throughout the show, as well as the more detailed things in the art pieces that were stolen or previously obtained. That annoyed the crap out of me. I would love for this show to be re-animated in the more modern way, to avoid these stupid mistakes that even I, a viewer noticed.
Sound: There were some effects that didn't seem to fit the moment, but you just kind-of roll with the punches with this show. The voices, for the English dubbing, sounded perfect for their characters. I loved the voices of the characters, and still do. The voices were a definite boost for the show to me.
Charater: I love the characters! The characters were established and were kept that way. In this case, that was a good thing. if they were meant to be annoying, they defiantly were.
Overall: I did enjoy watching this show, even though there were things that I would definatly change about it. I recommend it as a third or fourth anime ever, kind of show.
