Hey just one comment about your review of "A Wind Named Amnesia". I wasn't aware what date the movie was set, but if it is in deed 1999, then it is nine years afetr the movie was made, not six. The movie was made in 1990 by Madhouse studio. Just an FYI.

I just read your review of Barefoot Gen, and I have to say I'm surprised that you failed to distinguish the fact that the movie is autobigraphical in nature. The fact that it's taken directly from the creators life experiences, and is one of the few actual eye-witness accounts of Hiroshima, makes it the most realistic anime movie ever. Grave of the Fireflies, whilst being a great movie, is only semi-autobiographical in nature, and there were many liberties taken with the story. Barefoot Gen is the complete opposite.

Maybe you should watch it again, but this time keep in mind that the characters you're seeing were once real people who did and said the things that are depicted in the movie. The characters aren't a product of bad writing or bad acting, but a product of real life.
