My rating system for anime :
(Please note that most of the things I rate, I just round off my ratings because there is no decimal slider on MAL, so a 9.5/10 show is still a 10/10 on my list)
A show might be objectively bad if it includes one or more of the underlisted flaws -
-Bad writing. Logical fallacies like plot holes or contradictory character motivations, disorganized pacing, insufficient exposition, etc.
-Bad directing. Unintelligible, confusing visual direction or incoherent editing. (This could arguably include directing which relies entirely on uninspired conventions.)
-Bad sound direction. Poor timing, erratic audio mixing, unfit sound effects, jarring integration of music, etc.
-Bad art direction. Dimensionless, under-detailed, or stylistically incongruous background art.
-Poor theming. Themes are the decision of the storyteller, but the storyteller has to make sure their art reflects these values consistently & in a way the audience can reasonably be expected to infer through implications, subtleties, thematic dialogue or narration, etc.

Please note that something being objectively does not necessarily mean that You will not enjoy watching it. It simply means that the show/manga/novel is flawed on a technical level.

A show might be subjectively bad if it's not enjoyable to you on a personal level, in general including some shows with moments that get a lot of hate but me personally liking it. Subjectively not liking something includes but is not limited to the following -
-You think it’s boring.
-You think the art style is ugly.
-You think the premise is dumb.
-You dislike the directing style.
-You dislike the characters or disagree with the themes.
-You simply dislike the genre.

Something should be called a major factor if it pervades and can be cited consistently throughout the work.
Something should be called a minor factor if it can only be cited by cherry-picking isolated incidents throughout the work.

One - A 1/10 on my list is an appalling work, annoying both on the objective and subjective level; Something that I personally don't like as well as something that's flawed in multiple aspects of the objective end of the spectrum, resulting in an overall bad rating. At the time of writing this (18th of September 2022, 05:24), I have not given a single anime a 1/10, and I'm probably not using that rate anytime soon.

Two - A 2/10 is just the same as a 1/10, just not too annoying to me on a subjective but still bad all over, just not bad enough to be a 1, but not good enough to be a 4 either.

Three - 3/10 shows are the shows that are enjoyed by the person who recommended me to watch them but I spot several flaws and end up disliking the work as a whole, keeping in mind that it was a friend who recommeded the show to me I try not to be too brutal with the rating and settle at 3.

Four - A 4/10 show is subjectively bad, its not so abysmally bad to be in the 1,2,3/10 category. I rate shows a 4/10 when I don't like them personally but most ratings and reviews seemingly enjoy them. If a show is 4/10 on my list, its objectively flawed, subjectively not enjoyable but not bad enough for me to recommend people off it.

Five - 5/10s are shows that leave me confused as to what happened, me enjoying the show throughout but still not liking it enough rate it above the 'Average' category of the site. These shows had decent writing, respectable execution to some extent, good music, etc.

Six - A 6/10 is a decent show, it's enjoyable to some extent, but doesnt excel at anything, just being a fun show overall. It has above average writing, good characters (if any) and consistent flow.

Seven - a 7/10 is a very good show, including flaws that are either too minimal to care about, or overshadowed by the good factors of the show. Major factors that make these shows good are
-great writing
-likable characters
-amazing music
-excellent execution
And others that I'm too tired to go on about (it's literally 5 AM give me a break)

Eight - An 8/10 show is a masterpiece, probably the last rating where my ratings include any rationality and are actually worth referring to, because 9 and 10 are biased reviews by me.

Nine - These shows are objectively good and I really like them on a personal level, but realistically thinking about it, 9/10 shows on my list are mostly the ones I rated 10/10 initially being carried away by emotions when I had just watched the show. However, after a few days and rethinking the show I've decided to settle on a 9.

Ten - A 10/10 show is a masterpiece. It's appealing both subjectively and objectively, having little to no flaws. It has amazing writing, a good premise, unique story that isn't clichèd and keeps you on the edge of your seat (probably not the case for some laid back shows but you get the idea), good animation, voice acting, and the list goes on. It's GOOD in every mentionable aspect and might be on my favorites list if you bother enough to check it.
