well, tonally, if I'm drawing something with a darker theme i prefer to keep it black and white and stuff a lighter theme I'll color.
Most of my art tends to be character designs though, so they're usually colored,

Ha, Massachusetts is only beautiful in commercials.

No, not sad, but not particularly excited either. I've never really liked this town so moving back to my old town sounds nice.

I dont know what that means... D:
Ive been good, yourself? I cant remember last time I was on AC.. Must have been maybe four years!
TheBw Apr 22, 7:30 PM
You are brago... :O
:'D
Sayanna Apr 22, 3:21 PM
Yea, there's too many to list, but the most common is Cell shading and soft shading.
I used to cell shade, but I find Soft shading is easier. And the new style I'm practicing, you do the shading before the actual coloring, It's weird, but it works well for me, and it looks nice.
I hear a lot of people say that when they color a drawing, or line a sketch it looks like the drawing's losing the 'spark' it once had.

Ah, I'm still close to the ocean, I'll be even closer once I move again though, Which will be great during storms!

And, Thank you! I hope so too

I guess it does... D:

Do you remember me? :O

IT IS ME, MARIO!
Sayanna Apr 19, 7:21 PM
No, the shading's fine for me, it's more that it's time consuming and there's so many different ways to color, not to mention the cleanup. but I think I've settled on one that fit's my art style and doesn't take much time to do, I just need to practice it more often. I much prefer drawing in Black and white though.

it's like summer over there, that's crazy, it usually stays around 40's - 50's till about May around here, so it should start getting warm soon.

I move at the end of next week, so I wont have any Internet for a while around then.

Hey man. Thanks! Hope things are going well!

I'm actually not sure, It really depends on the thing. I've always been good with faces but it's only within the past few years that I've gotten good at realistic consistent anatomy and decent hands. And I'm still trying to practice my coloring, that's never been my strong point.

it's still 30 degrees over here ;__;

Neither am I, most people I talk to are online since I moved back in '12. Maybe i'll meet some cool people once I move again.

Ah, I misunderstood, i wish you luck anyhow.
Sayanna Apr 11, 2:34 AM
Heck, I still use references for some of my drawings, some poses are just really hard to get down. If you like drawing, just keep practicing, that's the only guaranteed way to get better at something.

ugh yea, my allergies have been horrible lately too. I love spring so much! haha

well, at least you made some friends in your school, even if you don't get to see them much.

That's awesome, it's great that people already want to hire you, you must've did a pretty good job.
Sayanna Apr 8, 7:57 PM
It just takes practice! and referencing is the best way to practice, it's actually recommended, as long as you're not tracing.

They're actually not as bad as they used to be. I have 1 or 2 a week as opposed to every other day. and they're normally very small now.

Arkansas sounds pretty nice, aside from the ice troubles
No, I'm moving back to my old town, so I'll be moving closer to where my friends live.

My comic isn't posted online yet. I'm waiting to draw it till i've finished re-writing everything.
But I have a comic I made with my boyfriend (he wrote it I drew it) you can read it here.
It's a test of issue 1 for his comic. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/d6hsrcm818ujs49/AABZ0mddEILHnSySEBn0jYEKa?dl=0
And I have concept art and character desighns on twitter. https://twitter.com/Gumshoes_Comics
I've been trying to update more often.

yea, we're moving from that house to a new one in a couple weeks. unfortunately with my disabilities i cant really live on my own.

How's arkansas been for you?
Sayanna Apr 5, 5:41 PM
Its not really a passion, but it was a really nice job.

I set up small deadlines for my story like "I have to get X part of X chapter done by X" it keeps me working and doesn't stress me out. There's no deadline for the story as a whole to be done, but that's what takes up most of my schedule.

Surprising, maybe the quality for my calls are just shit cause I literally live in the woods!
Maybe the quality will get better after I move.
Sayanna Apr 3, 4:45 PM
Thankfully your boss wasn't there long then, or you may have transfered or quit as well.
Working at conventions is great though,I've been thinking about doing it again at a different Con but I have such a busy schedule now i don't think it'll work.

yea, being in a different country must be even worse cause I'm sure its more expensive travel to england than it would be for me to go to Cali.
And your skype calls must lag a lot. I know mine have a tendency of dropping, but that's mostly cause i have bad Internet.
Sayanna Apr 1, 8:16 PM
Ah, i wouldn't be able to work if someone was watching me the whole time, that sounds nerve-wracking.

I was working at a convention. I had to help out guests and attendees. It was a lot of telling people to wait in line and telling them to stop misbehaving, but I also had to help set up panels and escort celebrities to said panels. It was a fun job, kind of exhausting but I ended up quitting cause my boss was an asshole. The job just wasn't worth it anymore, especially with how little i was getting paid and 0 lunch breaks.

he lives over in California, while I'm in Massachusetts. I was thinking of getting plane tickets for Christmas this year though, hopefully I can.
