If you're still a novice anime viewer, love the manga, a female (gay male included), a straight male with poor sense of humor, or a hardcore lolicon, then you'll enjoy this anime to its fullest.
I say that because this anime contains 90% of poor repetitive comedy and only 10% of worthy viewing materials. There's no doubt that people of such demographic I've mentioned above will not be able to get enough of shitty comedy gags presented in this anime. The 10% of significant plot screen time will just be the icing on the cake.

One of the best Shounen Anime of 2011 no doubt. Do yourself a favor and forget about the 1st season; that piece of shit does not exist.
If you're still in your teens (damn you) and love shounen stuff, then this will feel like a masterpiece to you. If you're old like me (:sadface:) then this 2nd season will make you want to go back to being prepubescent boy again. ^.^ Story: On the surface, the plot may seem generic to most viewers (ie. good guys try to stop bad guys from trying to take over the world). OMG ANOTHER INCEST ANIME? I AM DISGUSTED. 1/10 + rant about crap no one cares about. The only reason why this show gets very high marks is due to nostalgic factor. FLCL was one of the first anime to hit America and guess what. 90% of reviewers are Americans.
For example, I still recall some old school anime when I was a kid, and even though I see them as mediocre shows now, they were masterpieces back then. So, if I were to rate an anime I saw when I was 7 years old back in 1991 as my present self (26 years old), I would've rate it way higher than it deserves just because I remember seeing it as a kid ... |
