What is there to say?
Well, I started watching anime when I was ... 17, I think. A friend showed me a couple episodes of the Lodoss OAV and Slayers one night, and I was like "Hey, this is pretty cool!" and, as they say, the rest is history.
My tastes are mostly straightforward, I suppose, but I always welcome recommendations of shows that are high quality, creative, or just plain unusual and intriguing. I've enjoyed fantasy and sci-fi for a long time, but lately I've found a growing interest in the supernatural and mystery genres. I'm not much of a mecha fan but it's fine in moderation. Gundam 00 is an exception because it is pure awesome.
If you think you have a good suggestion for something I might enjoy, feel free to tell me.

You need to get on Nisemonogatari, and don't forget Kizumonogatari is going to air soon, and a bunch of Nisio's other works are getting animated now too.
I had gotten worried that Yen Press hadn't updated their release schedule for the Spice and Wolf novels. I talked to the head of sales and he says they plan on release all 17 novels, but they just haven't gotten a schedule hammered out. It'll be a long time before we see the end of it, but it's great news we're going to actually be able to see it.
I prefer things with strong characters and strong character relationships, and as long as the show has something interesting about it I'll watch it regardless what genre it happens to be.
I've been watching anime since I saw a fansub (back in the day when groups were mostly members of college clubs) of Kidou Senshi Gundam way back in 1989. I guess I identify most with anime as a medium. In an age where even video games have been disappointing me, and I gave up on the American cartoon market over a decade ago, anime has consistently been a bright point through it all.
Zakuro is absolutely amazing, but be forwarned it's primarily a fluffy love story focusing on three different hanyou girls and their military manmeats. Every episode meets and exceeds my expectations which is near impossible at this point. Stardriver is like a mix between rahxephon and gurren lagann with some bishie and some super ridiculous camp thrown in, there's a lot to love.
hope you stay healthy so you can enjoy a lot of open airs festivals and other concerts next year! ;D
