Glasslip also known(to me at least) as Nagi no asukara without the fish people xd. If you've watched NagiAsu you'll understand why I say this pretty much in the first chapter. Although NagiAsu was much better.
Story:
This was the main problem I had with the anime. By the end of the anime an explanation of what are the "future fragments" is not given and understanding what these were was the main point of the whole story.
I guess someone might say that the romance was also part of the main plot, but considering that this wasn't really developed in the story with the exception of 2 or
...
3 scenes, I don't it counts as one.
I had a lot of questions about the anime that I was hoping to get an aswer for them, sadly the last chapter only got me more questions and almost no answer.
Art:
The art was really good, especially the background scenes, I don't really know how to explain it but it was really good. The character designs were amazing probably one of the best of the season.
This actually helped a lot while watching the anime, because as I said before the story wasn't that good.
Sound:
I really enjoyed the soundtrack of Glasslip, Akito Matsuda did an amazing job composing all these amazing pieces that go well with the scenes that these are played in.
The op was also pretty good. I don't really listen to the op and ed themes of anime more than 2 or 3 times during the whole series, with some really few exceptions and this op was one of those. I got to like it very much and pretty much listened to it every chapter. The ending theme on the other hand was ok, it wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't a memorable one.
Characters:
This was another problem with the anime. There wasn't really any character that could be memorable besides Touko and that is only because the story is basically about her and Kakeru.
This anime had really good potential, it isn't that bad of an anime it's average. I'm pretty sure there might be people that will really like this anime so I think maybe give it a chance, specially if you liked NagiAsu xd.

I believe that when you have horror in the way of just mass murders and bloodbaths it is quite boring, because most of the cases it is just a really messed up person who feels good by doing it and nothing else. So, when I get to see an anime that has the horror but mystery and psychological aspects as well I really get excited about it, and this show surpassed my expectations by a lot.
Story & Characters:
Higurashi takes place in a little town called Hinamizawa where a group of friends live their lives as normal students until the Watanagashi festival happens and the Oyashiro
...
sama curse makes all characters lose their minds and so begins the slaughter.
The story is divided in question archs and answer archs, each arch has different character as the main one. An important thing to know is that in the last episode of every arch all the characters have died in many cruel ways, but in the next episode everyone is alive and the story begins again.
What makes each arch different are subtle things like who you gave a doll to. This actions then trigger the madness in some of the characters, after the Watanagashi festival btw, and leads to the unavoidable massacre.
Each arch also provides with different clues about what is actually happening, but some of the things that occur makes you rethink of what is true and what is just something a character has imagined.
Keep in mind that you will have to watch the second season, Higurashi no naku kori ni kai, to fully inderstand what is going on and to get all the answers of what is going on.
Art:
The art is probably the only thing that isn't really good. The characters animation is not so good if you compare it to other anime released that same year(i.e Death Note and Code Geass).
But then we have the "higurashi face", this is the face most characters have when the curse of Oyashiro sama arrives, an essential part of the shoe's greatness. The look of despair and madness of the characters is just so amazing to the point that you realize that the animation suits the show amazingly well.
Sound:
The soundtrack of higurashi is awesome, it fits perfectly with the scenes each piece is reproduced. You can feel the horror and despair just by listening to he ost. This truly tells the incredible capacity Kenji Kawai has when making music.
The opening and ending give you an idea of what the show is about, and for me this is a really important thing basically because most of the times I don't read what the genres are of the anime I'll watch or the description of it. So I want to have as much information from the opening, ending and first chapter, and I must say that higurashi fulfilled my expectations.
Something very important about this anime are the voice actors/actresses. You can understand all the work they must have done to achieve such awesome performances, specially when it comes to the laughs, those incredible laughs at the time of the murders fit so perfectly it seems unreal.
Another thing that says why japanese voice actors/actresses are so incredibly good is the fact that the voice actress that plays the role of Rena is the same that of Nagisa from Clannad.
I can't recommend this show enough. If you are into this king of anime then you will totally enjoy it.
This is one of my all time favorite anime and you should totally watch it.

If you have the idea that this show will be something like other magical girl shows like Sailor Moon or Sakura Card Captors you are very very wrong. This anime is really dark and you will realize that in about 5 or so minutes into the first episode, and to be honest this "darkness" is really what makes this an awesome anime.
Story:
The story centers Kaname Madoka, a normal high school girl that one day meets this animal like creature called Kyuubey, who offers her and her friend Sayaka the task of saving the world by becoming magical girls and grant them one wish. The task

is pretty simple, you have to defeat witches because otherwise they will kill people.
So far there is nothing different from other magical girls anime. What makes it different is that with every people they save, with every piece of joy they give to the world there is an equal amount of "despair", as it is said in the anime, that affects the girls. This principle of equivalence( yes, the same as FMA) is what really makes it dark and of course some really messed up scenes.
This is definitely not an anime for little girls, I would say the target audience are people that can understand well complex anime like Death Note or Psycho Pass.
Characters:
There aren't many characters in this anime. Because of this, you can't really get to know them, their personalities, their past, their reasons for becoming a magical girl and ultimately their individual wish. This is done surprisingly well considering that the show only has 12 episodes.
Kyuubey, well there is not much I can say without spoiling anything so I'm just gonna say that in the same way as in other magical girl anime you don't really know where this creature comes from or why does he(I'm guessing he because of the voice) give girls powers or even how does he do it. And one more thing, as cute as one may think he is, his face just seems way too creepy for me.
Art:
The animation for the anime was done by SHAFT and if you have seen any other SHAFT work(i.e Nisekoi, Monogatari, etc) you will instanctly notice it. However, you really don't get the fanservice that characterize the other shows, not that it is a bad thing, in fact, I appreciate this a lot, because with other works the fanservice is something that takes almost 70% of every chapter and it gets annoying after a while.
The problem I had with the art was the character animation. To be honest, it was bad, to the point that if it wasn't for the story I would have stopped watching it from the start.
Sound:
The soundtrack was made by Yuki Kajiura(SAO, Kara no kyoukai, etc), so this already makes this a really good soundtrack. Most of the soundtrack really suits the dark mood of the anime and it does so in a way that all the sad parts seem to be way sadder than they really are, which is a good thing, at least for me.
If you didn't think that the fact that this anime was about magical girls was deceiving enough for you to think there is no mature themes or something like that, well the opening does that. You can't really get an idea of what the anime is really about, and I don't really like that. This is the same thing that happened with School Days, the opening had no hint of what the anime was really about, not that it would've helped at all considering how incredibly bad the anime was.
The ending suits the theme of the anime, despite the fact that the animation is just the credits and the characters walking, but it was a good song.
Overall I really enjoyed the anime, it was nothing I had expected it to be and you will not be disappointed by it.
If you can buy it go buy it, the blu-ray actually has better background graphics than the ones from streams, unless the streaming sites already changed them.

No game no life is in almost every aspect just outstanding. I would say it was the best anime of the last season, Madhouse really set bar high for future anime.
Story: The story is similar to other anime, like SAO and the .hack// series, but what really differentiates this is that the characters, Sora and Shiro, don’t really want to beat the game so they can leave and return to their normal life, the want to win for the sake of beating a game, they believe that together there is no game that can’t be won.
To make it simple the story revolves around a

grand variety of games, going from flipping a coin and see if it is heads or tails to some weird king of chess(in a way similar to the one in Harry Potter). It is this variety and how Sora and Shiro develop strategies in a blink of an eye that really makes you want to keep watching week after week.
Characters: Characters are really what make this anime great. They complement each other in every single game, taking advantage of each of their individual skills and, therefore maximizing the result. Their expertise in games reaches a level where they can basically imagine every single possible scenario and make the best strategy for each situation. Their ability to foresee these various scenarios rivals those of Light and Lelouch, which would be terrifying if this wasn’t an anime about games. But the aspect that I find more interesting is the amount of knowledge they have in math and physics, they can go from calculating some simple probabilities to solving really complex partial differential equations and from using high school physics to stuff that probably majors in physics suffer to understand.
I can’t really say much about the supporting characters without spoiling parts of the story, but what I can say is that those characters really help make the story even more interesting and in several occasions very VERY funny.
Animation: I can’t emphasize enough how awesome the animation is.
It looks so different from other anime; the bright colors give the feeling that the world is indeed a game, which combining with the extremely different areas of the world generate something wonderful. These areas being landscapes so beautiful they look like something taken from a Planet Earth documentary, huge libraries and different kind of stadiums.
The character design is pretty much straight forward to other anime giving the majority of the girls characters an acceptable amount of moe, but the thing that I would have to stand out is the design of the eyes, all characters eyes just look so beautiful, it is something that personally I have never seen in another anime, and is one of the things that caught my attention from the beginning.
Sound: I want to talk about 2 things here the ost/op/ed and the voice actors.
The opening is one of the best that I have heard in an anime for a really long time, the last probably being Shingeki no kyojin’s first op, this opening really suits the theme of the story, which may seem obvious seeing that the name of the song is “This game”, but it is really really good and I just kept listening to it every chapter which is something I rarely do.
This anime doesn’t have that many ost, I believe there are just 4 that are arranged in a slightly different way one version being in electronic music and the other instrumental, but these are so good that I really didn’t care at all hearing them time after time.
I don’t think Madhouse could have picked better voice actors for Sora and Shiro, because you can truly see how their voice and reactions fit the personality of the characters. The voice actors have a huge background that shows why they were so good, Sora’s seiyuu was Yoshitsugu Matsuoka( Kirito in SAO and Sorata in Sakurasou) and Shiro’s was Ai Kayano(Menma from Ano hana and Chisaki from Nagi no asukara; she also sings the ).
In few words, this was an amazing anime that I looked forward to watching every week and I can’t wait for the second season that I hope is released soon.
