I do want to continue, just i completely forgot MAL was back and working so I literally just signed in a couple of days ago. I don't mind whatever platform!

Sup :) That seems fine actually, i'm heading into the 'I might not survive' territory of my uni life again so it might be better to move to once a week, though i am still pretty prompt about these things so don't worry. If i don't answer you know i've been stuck doing random work that's overtaken my time!

Speaking of digitally organisation, i should really do that as well at one point, i am pretty terrible of keeping track of what I do so i never know what's going on, i am the type of person who has to name his files stupid things to know where they are. But it's still a good thing to do none the less!

Oh Canada was amazing, i loved every second of it, the people are nice, the food is amazing, the stuff is extremely nicely priced out there (brought like 40 films) Kinda wished i had family out there means i could get films sent over that come out per week, oh boi that would be the dream.

If you start a date to watch films call it 'Joe's Recommended me Dank Shit to watch Day' has a nice ring to it, but you know me already, if people ask me anything about film i will pull out a large list of films people need to watch in order to live, it's just what i do. (psst, watch Witches Cradle, it's like 14 mins long, it's rad). Also would you believe i actually watch like 4 films a week, i don't actually have that much time to watch them, i end up passing out.

CONGRATS ON PASSING THE EXAM!!!!!!!!! LIKE REALLY WELL DONE!!!!

I liked my sleeping schedule better in Canada tbh it was nice, my feet hurt like hell tho, couldn't really walk but it was fun. I listen to Red Hot Chilli Peppers before going to bed, they help me sleep since it's basically mellow music. But yeah sleeping schedules tend to be the worst, i was told the best thing is to not drink coffee after 12 noon and go to bed before 11pm, apparently that helps a lot, haven't felt it too much yet.

That actually sounds really goddamn cool, i moving onto a essay about how Tag (2015) deconstructs the representation of the female in media, it's kind a really cool film (psst go watch it ;D). From what i can tell Surrealist cinema tends to be extremely visual rather than audible, it's an odd concept but they rarely ever use sound, which is kinda annoying actually. But some do tend to heighten the reality of the film by using otherworldly sounds to evoke it or not in some cases. Begotten (don't watch it, like don't, it's not a nice film, like promise me don't) uses normal sounds to juxtapose the quite odd visuals, it's kinda neat, shame about the film. Save to the cloud is always the safe bet really, at least there you won't run into any problems.

My spanish pronunciation tends to be quite patchy, it's more down to my inability to speak outside in public, but don't worry, once you get the hang of it the rest comes naturally. Nah i know don't worry, just to me nothing screams interesting about my voice, it's just extremely British.

I kinda wish i had more time to put into ramen, i mean yours sounds really goddamn noice, but yeah i tend to take the instant stuff and add some things to it just to spruce it up slightly. But yeah the one you make sounds extremely nice!

The main question would be "Like fam... What... What even is Eraserhead" once that is answered my life is complete. But i wouldn't know what to do if i met him, he's like my idol, I would lose my mind and scream.

It helps me quite a bit actually, since what i learn helps later on because it's in the back of my brain somewhere. Oh yeah the olympics took away Sangatsu from me, i cry every time it's not on since it's hit my favorite arc so far :'(

Christ i am like a ace at these kind of things, maybe i should go into professional deduction and become a detective or some shit.I would be a dank ass detective. I am actually learning quite a bit about east asia cinema, it's actually really goddamn neat, i quite like it!

I had a teacher like her last year, I really liked him because he's basically us, plus he loved my groups complete revamp of Battle Royale.

My dog tends to be the front and centre of my twitter, she's like the cutest thing ever so i have to tell everyone else how cute she is, she's my rock, she keeps me going. Yeah Twitter can be an extremely big help sometimes. Mine tends to spiral into a deep dark depression about why I can't beat Drakengard.

I have like a massive cinema poster collection, i've got a fair number of expensive ones now. Clocks? that actually sounds really cool, i used to like clocks when i was a kid, I used to change watches and clocks every so often because I liked them so much.

The Tyler Bates one or the ones with the songs? Both are really good!! Listen to La La Land's soundtrack it's really goddamn nice, plus ryan gosling's on it.

We don't have any old cinema's where i live which is sad, i really like the old films but they rarely show them, saw Terminator 2 in cinemas like really recently tho, that was extremely coolio.

Errm, like, you see, sometimes.... (Grabs 2B body pillow and jumps out of a window and runs away)

It really is, it adds so much to the world, damn Shaft are like the coolest bois ever

I actually never liked Harry Potter growing up, I grew up a lot more on random other stuff that stuff like that never grabbed me, i was more convinced by anime's idea of fantasy than actual books. Never really understood why but i guess i just grew up a bit odd, who knows.
it's extremely easy to get a hold of them, just type it into google and it appears, it's quite neat actually.
I mean Chinese is a very vital language in todays world so every word counts nowadays.
The odd thing with exams is the one's you think you didn't do too well in you end up doing extremely good in them, but congrats again!

Useless knowledge tends to be the best as they always say!. I actually mostly travel by car and train, the two most expensive forms of transportation. but england tends to be a lot of roads so it's the only way really. I don't like most forms of transportation i tend to get scared by them, don't like the idea of getting stuck in any of them. I tend to be drawn to extremely odd detective cases on TV, don't ask me why it just happens i guess.

It's a multiple view movie i think, some things occur the second or third time around, it's the better because of it i think.

I was the type of kid that just kept to himself and never really got into anything, kinda felt like it was better that way, went through life with minimal problems because of it. If i ever spat with anyone in my family it was a quick resolution so it wasn't too bad.
When it drops in price i'll pick it up, a heck of lot of things are coming out in the next weeks so mans going to be poor :'(
Right yeah... The quote itself basically happens because their freedom lies upon the idea of what is better the boob or the ass, the other character is an ass man so the MC has to figure out why the ass is the better choice, that's where the quote comes in. He believes all along the ass was the main thing and why would he want anything else but the really thing, it's extremely dumb like really dumb but it's such a funny episode because the set up is odd as heck. It's one of the most memorable things in the show.

God i would had cried if that happened to me, i would had just left and never came back, they clearly don't get it which is sad.

Well the thing with VE if Violet didn't have the depth of a brick i might have found her convincing but currently the plot boils down to this:

V: Hey i get how people work and feel
Someone: You don't get it
V: Oh wow

Next 10 mins
V: I get it
S: You get it
V: Yay

That's been the first four episodes, plus i think from what i read every episode besides the latest has been anime original and not the LN so i have no idea what's going on. Plus you know me i love me a character piece but VE has done everything in it's power to squander it, which is goddamn sad, i mean it might just be me i don't know, but thanks for pointing that out!
I'll catch up one day, my brain tends to be bad with keeping track of things especially anime

I mean she was a horrible person, but damn it's hard to say she's not beautiful, her main character trait was she exploits her looks to get the people she wants, it's basically her whole entire character. But yeah i guess it's nice to get a character who you can't stand and have to follow them, sorta feels refreshing as you say!

It's right doe, the internet happened and everything is great.

It takes me a bit to notice things, it's a thing with me, i am quite slow with a lot of things, but yeah it's a hard concept to grasp but a really goddamn neat one!

Excuse any errors, i wrote this while my eyes were slowly dipping, maybe i strained them, no idea, life is fab!!!

Congrats on passing tho!!
TheDriverReviews Feb 11, 2018 1:01 PM
No need to say sorry, it's nothing don't worry, you had a lot going on I understand, I was in Canada for 4 days anyhoo so it's nothing to worry about! I hope everything went great!!.
Oh that is quite the movie actually, before watching The Holy Mountain, Drive was the best film i had ever seen, now it sits at around 4 or 5, i still haven't got a proper top 10 list yet. But believe me you will love it, it's a legit incredible film!!

I'm sorry to hear that, sleeping schedules are literally the worst, mine tends to be ok but every time i wake up i feel like i haven't slept in 3 days and feel like i've had a nose bleed, which never happens (well it did happen once but that's it) I actually can't sleep at an earlier time since my brain has a set time when it shuts off, if i don't go by that time I won't sleep, it's dumb but it happens a lot. Best thing i did was just tire yourself out, sounds dumb i know but it really helps when you go to sleep since you feel energised in the morning. Pfft maybe that won't do anything but you never know!!

Huh both sound extremely detailed, god I doubt i could write for a long time about those things before losing my mind, but yeah the second does sound extremely interesting. I don't know why but i've always found those types of things really interesting, sometimes it's really neat to see how everything hit the fan and who was there to back the country up. Sounds like a really interesting paper. I've got to write one about the history of Surrealist Sound within film, which might or might not drive me nuts. It's always a good idea to safeguard your stuff anyhoo, you never know what might happen (which is why i save everything about 7 different times on 7 different devices)

It happens to us all, my voice tends to be sarcastic but i never realise other people's sarcasm, it just happens i guess. I never really see anything in my voice besides the fact it's extremely British, but thank you I really need that boost today! (Playing Drakengard for 4 hours straight really does bring your self esteem down)

I actually recently got into Ramen again, I've missed it for so long, it's such nice food and quick as well. Yeah now i am extremely hungry, i might just go make myself some Ramen with meat, sounds pretty nice right now! I actually ate some really good Ramen while in Canada (I really miss Canada :'()

Would you believe every year of my life post my 13th year at school every one of my essay has been about David Lynch, i can more than likely give you an interpretation of his films. My brain pretty much became David Lynch for a long while. I pretty much have everyone of his films that ever came out on blu ray, i kinda love the man.

Yeah having a topic you love to talk about really does help a lot, when you don't depressions strikes and you just want everything to end and end up staring at Victor for a long ass while realising that life ain't so bad after all. Sometimes writing too much is a bit too much as well, it's nice to have that even spread of like 3000 words to work with, found that I produce good things at that length. I'm kinda happy about all the stuff i self taught myself, most of my knowledge came from my 12am googling. I rarely ever have good days for research, it just turns into wanting to get everything done.
If i had to guess i would imagine it must be international business, if i am correct, life is pretty nice, just makes the most sense from what you described.
Oh yeah it's nice when they agree with you on what you want to do, uni hasn't been too bad with that, they've all liked my ideas but questioned how i went about it, still got good marks so it's something i guess! Oh my dog is a Maltese, she's my bundle of joy on the bad days. Twitter tends to be my most active place, i just tend to vent stuff on there, really helps, also post a lot of memes as well, that helps.

I might get back into photography and dust off the old polaroid, kinda interested in it now, I need extremely odd sized frames since my posters go beyond normal size, they tend to be expensive :/.
Oh yeah La la la Land has some perfect music in it, the opening song moved me to tears, first song to ever do it.
My favorite camera is the old technicolor camera, the one used in Suspiria, god it's like a marvel to stare at it's so beautiful, the colours are so nice, nothing since can capture the same effect. A lot of films were lost due to that actually, i don't think there exists a complete cut of metropolis because it was destroyed from my memory. Sad really when you think about it.
Sangatsu is the best anime ever made, Akari is my wife and will forever be my number 1, she's the perfect women in my eyes.

Directors do actually have it tough, i've heard too many horror stories from productions about Directors losing it and just leaving, it's goddamn scary actually. It's rare when a book adaptation is as good as the book, same thing goes with anime (unless you are sangatsu or Gintama) I've seen dumpsterfire adaptations literally all the time, TV works a lot better for books than film does. I tend to read scripts when i need to get a better grasp of the craft, Alex Garland screenplays are amazing. I actually try to write how the world would be like when the film comes to be directed, just feels right to do so, it's my world after all.
The important stuff is always the best to remember anyhoo!
Ah don't worry i am sure you did fine! don't think about it too much you can only do your best in the end and that's all that matters!

Oh it's amazing, watch it, it's one of those films that evolves and when it does it becomes a completely different film. Well there is 3 legit Django films the rest just use the name, they become unofficial sequels. Hardly anyone knows that it's completely throw away knowledge that might only ever come up in some dank ass pub quiz.

Oh yeah, so, the thing is, stuff that i know that won't happen in my life time doesn't scare me, since i know it's outside of my own reality. disaster movies can happen in real life so it scares the hell out of me, i fear almost every mode of transport, it sounds dumb I know.

Arrival is actually a perfect film in my eyes, the ending left me thinking about it for weeks on end, it's such a powerful ending, i mean i don't think the Aliens were the central point of the film, it was humans and their inability to communicate, the aliens were there to make them remember how to talk to one another. Oh and On the Nature of Daylight is one of my favorite tracks in anything, i listen to it when i work, it helps so much. Yeah everyone i talk to has the exact same problem their friends don't like the film, it hurts my soul to even think people could not like the film. Ah that sucks, I have the same problem with some films when i travel it tends to happen.

Yeah i think they really ironed out the game for the GBA which maybe why i finished it without a problem. Whenever i had a problem with my bro we always had a game of Smash on Gamecube, that was where problems were settled, really helped.
I haven't played Life is Strange before the storm yet, it's been on my list but i don't know if the storyline will be as good as the first game.
Actually the best thing i ever heard about butts and boobs was from prison school, the mc says "In the end, boobs are fake asses, why would i settle for the imitation when the real thing is staring at me" From then on stuff just made sense, everything fell into place.
9s is so smoll, i love him, i cried at the end of the route of Nier because he's perfect (plus seeing 2b cry makes me cry, plus holy hell 2b is a beautiful women, like christ, with her mask off she's amazing (though even with mask on she's perfect))

I would have cried if everyone called me Zelda, it hurts my soul when people call link Zelda, but i guess it's a fact of life at this point.

VE anime is kinda hit and miss with me right now, on the one hand i like it but they really have no idea what to do with Violet besides the fact she wants to find out what love is, it's kinda cliche and depressing because she has potential but they are wasting it. I still haven't caught up on AFTR yet, comes out on a day when i pass out all the time.

The teacher was hot tho, like holy damn, took me off guard sometimes, i mean Hanabi was kinda of a terrible person she kept screwing over Sanae all the time that it kinda got annoying. I mean i liked the fact it was different but i just couldn't like any of the characters, even the teacher was dumb sometimes but as they say love is blind.

Yeah we didn't get too many shows over here, kinda sucked really but then the internet happened and everything was great!

Oh the ending is one massive time paradox, the events of the anime keep happening, watch the last 10 mins of the last episode and then watch the first episode again, it all makes sense, it took me a while to realise it, a person in my chat pointed it out plus it also shows it in the OP (MAN HUMAN MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN MAN HUMAN)
I'll watch it don't worry!

Greetings to you too!, don't worry take your time!
TheDriverReviews Jan 23, 2018 3:39 PM
Huh... I guess i goofed, maybe my sleeping schedule is getting to me. I am a fast writer under pressure, it's kinda nice to have some pressure since like that you will do your best, if you are too relaxed i find that you get less done.

I actually without realising sound sarcastic in public, i never intend on doing it but somehow it just happens, maybe it's just the tone of my voice i guess. I could really use ramen about now, just sounds really damn good!

I actually have to do a presentation on the evolution of sound through surrealism, while using Eraserhead as a backing (every year i write a paper on Lynch, i never escape the mandem) I recently looked into the Japanese justice system on my paper for Death Note, it's actually extremely interesting. Your paper sounds really cool actually, there is a lot there that can lead to a really neato paper overall! It's interesting, you tend to find things the most interesting when you have to cram everything together in a short space of time, i would never had found the idea of the space beyond the camera interesting had i done it like 3 weeks before the deadline.
That's pretty much me as well, i have a lot of starting points but due to my time i have literally no motivation to continue them, but sometimes if you leave something and go back to it after 7 days or even a month you do hit a point when everything starts clicking together and you get a dank ass piece at the end.
Right, yeah that... Basically in my school they were heavily artistic so in being like that everything you did had a art theme behind it, so i'm there doing infrared photography and my teacher wants me to print my photos on tinfoil, which mind you is the most dumbest idea ever of which i didn't do, someone else did and broke the printer so there's that. I ended up hating it so much that i just gave up and did my own thing, worked out in the end, only just passed tho, felt good going against the system. I still take photos from time to time, i tend to steal my bro's expensive camera and do everything on that, nothing really is a silly hobby, it can always lead somewhere in the end! most of my insta is literally films i buy and sometimes if i remember a picture of my dog.

Ah like Life is Strange? Max has a wall of polaroids if my memory is correct, it's actually really cool, my wall is just filled with movie posters, stuff which i just asked my local cinema for, my prized one is my La La Land poster which sits behind my bed (you could say i always have Ryan Gosling within a arms distance). If i took polaroids i would do that, no idea how much the paper cost anymore.
Maybe i might pick it up if i find the motivation (which is a thing i don't have at all recently, unless it's Jojo and Sangatsu.., Did I tell you I like Sangatsu???)
Ah it's the same as ours actually, literally the same, I only know because people keep telling me about it, kinda sounds a lot more interesting than ours, but my expertise lie within writing rather than directing. Story is the most important aspect of anything really, without it what's the point? Bonus points if you visually tell your story!!

It's 3 years for a normal course and special ones are 7 years. After comes a lot of student debt and finding work, since mine is a bit abstract it might take a bit of time to find something, but yeah you can literally do anything without even going to Uni really, most filmakers drop out.
Can it have an extra seat so i can sit my dog next to me? Sometimes my dog helps me think straight.

I did spanish and film in the end, it was really fun actually. Ours in our final years aren't fixed, before they are but afterwards you are free to chose, it's kinda nice really, maths was never my strong point so not having to do it was really neato.
I like Taratino a lot as well, my favorite by him is Death Proof which tends to be the worst he's done by many people, but i adore that film it's so freaking amazing, it captures the rise of women within film so perfectly. Django is amazing as well, i really liked the nod to the older Django film (did you know there are 43 Django films in total but Taratino's is the only other sequel). I used to be scared the most of catosphe movies when i was a kid, it was something i would always avoid, Towering Inferno scared the hell out of me. Instead i would stay up late watching horror movies (apparently i was alright with those...Don't ask).

It's a matter of getting used to their work, once you watch like 2 Shinbo anime's you get what the dude strives to make, same with film. I just watch a lot of their work and get an idea of how they work and then deconstruct their stuff after.
Oh yeah he's in it, he's the bad dude (but isn't at the same time) I went to see it just because i adore the original and the director of the new one also did Arrival which is one of the best films of the decade. I had a picture of Asuka from Eva 3.0 because she's like best girl for about a year.
I lost faith in them after what happened with La La Land, even more so this year :'(
Please do! Also did you know I like Sangatsu?????????????

Ah dang that sucks :/ huh my uni has a lot of people in it, more than i can manage with, i would prefer there not being a lot of people there but sadly it's London so it comes with the territory.

Eh it's nothing, i finished it when i was like 10 on the GBA, I got stuck on the mine cart level for a week tho, it was horrible. Much like with Dark Souls and Drakengard, having the ability not to want to throw your machine out of the window helps. Nah i was only mentioning it because they've had a resurgence recently and just to hang on to them for the future, you never know it might be a one of a kind version!
I guess i just like butts really, a nice butt in games and anime is hard to come by nowadays, Nier Automata holds a special place in my heart because....Butts.... Plus 2B and A2 my wives and 9s is my son and nothing bad will happen to him, he's a sunshine boi.

Yeah my cathartic moments are a bit odd, they normally happen after a long day in London. It's really fun burning things in MC never understood why, just is i guess.
I grew up on them a lot, i played them all besides Skyward Sword, i think everyone called Link Zelda it's just a thing.
I wish i didn't buy anything new until i finished other ones but sometimes temptation gets the better of me.

I have the LN of VE but never got around to reading it, apparently it's amazing the LN but it's a wait and see kinda dealio with it.
I haven't actually and i have no desire to, everything i've seen on the internet about it made me not want to see it, kinda sad really but the internet killed my drive to see a film, plus Rouge One was a dumpster fire of a film.

A lot of people are saying it's a bit creepy, but it's the internet i guess, I mean if she did confess already there wouldn't really be much of a show left, but yeah it's extremely realistic.
I liked the section with Hanabi and the other girl, just because it was the only section that felt right, the rest of it kinda felt dumb I felt a lot of emotions as well, It's a good series just on that merit but just it became a dumsterfire after Mugi went after his teacher (But his teacher was really hot, like goddamn). I've seen relationships that are akin to this but gladly never experienced them, like you say it's a lucky escape.

I mean yeah it kept me going as well, just to see how far it could go before i wanted out, when i wanted out it was over, which is odd to say the least, it had the same effect Inuyashiki had on me. The sequel manga is called Scum's Wish Decor, i think it follows a different character per chapter, it's actually a lot better.

I pretty much grew up on the exact same thing bare Detective Conan since they never showed it over here in England also Kickers never got a release over here either. But i adored Sailor Moon and CardCaptors so much. WATCH EVA LIKE WATCH IT AND THEN WATCH THE END OF EVA IT'S SOME DANK STUFF FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM.

I mean yeah it's quite modern, but holy hell that one sex scene went on and on and on and on, there was so much ass on my screen that it became hard to concentrate on the narrative of the story. Oh yeah that film, sorry i got the wrong one, i've heard of it but never watched it sadly, i should really, they remade it i think this year.

Yeah I should warned you a bit better, i mean episode 1 had a girls butt right up to the screen while Akira and Ryou were talking in the background, odd series to say the least. I gave it a 10 just because the underlying meaning was perfectly explored plus episode 8 and 9 were phenomenal. It just explores it a bit more, the anime just kinda goes "Here you go" and just leaves, the mango is a lot better with the core theme of the ending
TheDriverReviews Jan 21, 2018 4:10 PM
I never really have the problem during tests, i guess it's because i am under a time limit so i know i have to get it done and not talk for 20 pages. When i have free reign however it's when it happens.

I think it's because i am so used to writing it's second nature at this point, granted it's still slowly killing me every time i have to sit there for about a week and write a paper, i mean i get to do a video essay this term so that's kinda different i guess. We get the odd presentation to do but it's really down to the subject, at least yours sounds more adventurous than mine.
Eh i guess it's the fear if you can't bring your own vision to life and you end up hating what you make, i guess it's a fear everyone has. Originally before Film overtook my life i actually wanted to be a photographer, i loved it so much, but as time went on i grew disintrested because my school wanted to gear it more to art than photos and it kinda angered me. I have a couple of polaroids, i have one of the modern ones and one of the old ass one's, they are really neat. 9 out 10 times they produce even better photos than digital.
I mean i'd imagine my film and tv course at my uni isn't too different to how that works, film studies is literally just essays with the odd bit of screenwriting. I mean i like to learn how the films work so in the future i know how to construct films to the best they can be, but yeah i think how that subject works is how the film and television course works at my Uni. It does sound really interesting i kinda wish film studies got a tad bit more variety but eh, it's only 1 more year till it's over, too late to complain now.
Yeah there's at least 7 years until i need that kind of chair, but it would be neat to have that kind of chair. Michael Bay is the worst director going, having my script go to him would kill me inside.

Yeah, before we started our final 2 years we got to chose i think 7 subjects in total and one happened to be psychology, had i known that i would be researching into the DSM 5 and stuff like that i would have chosen it, since i love how the brain works and what makes people tick, since every character i write tends to have a psychological problem. Damn that sounds really goddamn interesting, i kinda wished film incorporated that as well since we learnt a bit about Death Note and a lot of psychology factors into it's characters, but nah that's wishful thinking. It's a kinda strange combination but a amazing one at that, kinda wish i did psychology now :L

I actually do that quite a bit as well, a lot of my knowledge on certain directors and how stuff works comes from going on google at 12am after watching some dank ass film, just allows you to appreciate what you watch a whole lot more, I don't know if i have mentioned it before but have you seen Blade Runner 2049?, if you haven't I think it's out at the end of this month on DVD, watch Blade Runner before then watch that film, they are both some of the greatest films ever made and when they are over you just sit there and wonder to yourself what it all means.
I had no idea it was even connected to the previous film before going into it, that's why i lost my mind when it happened, it was such a goddamn amazing twist. Yeah his acting was out of this world in that film, i doubt he will get an oscar nomination since the oscars don't like good films :L.
I haven't actually, it's been on my list to watch for like 3 years now, i just never been in the mood to watch it, apparently it's amazing from what i can tell.
Shit i just realised i wrote about Blade Runner having just realised i wrote about it before... Pssst go watch it... It's like the greatest sequel ever. Sorry i just love the film so much.
I guess i like an anime depending on it's director, just because their vision is what makes the show in the end.

I would say the main one i tend to do comparative analysis for is Sangatsu, just because it's Sangatsu (have i mentioned i like Sangatsu?) But thank you, i hadn't noticed my progression as a reviewer that much, i just kinda talk and hope what i say makes sense.
Yeah now that you mention it, I haven't really seen that many happy endings within Japanese films, i guess it's a stylistic convention maybe, every J-horror ends extremely depressing. But that does sound pretty cool actually, i might need to check out that video.

That sounds actually quite interesting, my uni is just a massive building and that's pretty much it for it. Kinda sad really :(

I played the hell out of Donkey Kong Country on the GBA back in the day, i managed to finish it after about 85 goes with the final boss, yeah the soundtrack is bare good!. Oh don't get rid of those games, they are worth a pretty penny nowadays and they will only rise as time goes on. Especially the Mario Paint game!
I guess i appreciate a good butt, tis the most underrated part in existence, granted this season has turned the tides on the butts, Trigger graced us with the butts, 2018 truly is the year of the Caboose.

Yeah Baby Driver had one of the best presentations of the year, second to Blade Runner 2049, every scene is just so perfect. Kinda wish i got to see it without knowing what it was, kinda sounds a lot better actually.
I just play minecraft to build a super big house, go inside it and burn it and watch my creation just burn to the ground, it's kind of cathartic in a way.
Zelda is an odd game series to say the least when you think about it.

from my memory the 3rd game is on there and so is the 4th plus the reboot, the 4th game is the best to play on PC since it works, the reboot is good if you haven't played the rest and 3 just don't touch it on pc, it's quite busted. But yeah they are worth the playthrough.

Just every Kyoani show bar like 2 have had like terrible storylines but amazing animation, i can never understand how they work as a studio, i really don't care for animation as long as the story is good but sadly Kyoani never do it, but maybe just maybe Violet Evergarden might fix everything. I still need to watch the second episode of After the Rain i think i passed out when i was going to watch it so i couldn't, it's a great series tho!.
Oh god, Kuzu No Honkai was a dumpster fire, i finished the entire series and just left kinda angry, nothing really changed, they just carried on just separately. Not to sure the anime was just remembered because it deconstructed the barrier between hentai and plot driven H scenes. But the first 3 episodes were goddamn amazing tho, so there's that, but yeah it could had been a lot better during the later section, just kinda felt like they gave up. I mean i guess it's a hard series to empathise with because it doesn't present a relationship anyone has possibly ever had in their life, plus if my mind lost it when Mugi went after his teacher, that was dumb. Though i am glad you liked it, it's nice to see a different perspective on the show!
It's just a goddamn odd series to say the least, the sequel manga however is actually really good actually, a lot better than the previous one for sure.

After i finish Shouwa S2 i'll watch it don't worry, i actually listen to the soundtrack since it's by Yoko Kanno it's beautiful. Gintama is a nice series, cried way too many times tho :'(

Well the series centers on a girl finding her own sexuality and holy hell is there a lot of sex in that film, like damn, the first sex scene goes on for a good 15 mins, i was actually shocked. If you bring it up everyone says you just watch it for the sex and that's it, but nah it's a goddamn amazing film even without the sex. I always give out the best film recommendations tho! so there is always a plus to asking me!. The Untouchables is the Brain De Palma film if i am not mistaken, i have actually, i watched it because there is a scene that pays homage to a really old Russian film, it's a really neat scene. Haven't seen the Hundred Foot Journey tho. Thank you!

I mean i guess his older movies were a little more niche than his current films, same with Depp, yeah but now both of them tend to get typed casted and it gets annoying watching them act, kinda sad actually. Huh that film synopsis sounds really cool actually i might need to go and check it out, thanks!
Oh a good film about time travel if you haven't seen it is Looper, it's a perfect film.

Oh god i am so sorry to hear that, i hope you are ok, i'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

My friend almost watched it on a train but i kept telling him that it has a lot of sex in it so he didn't thankfully. I admire your bravery tho, i could never do that. Yeah the ending is better in the manga personally, but everything else was pretty much perfect about the show.

I guess i might have beaten the record with this reply!

Jesus christ I had no idea, i guess MAL never separates it into pages so i have no idea how much i write, this is a regular occurrence with me, i wrote 4500 words on David Lynch without realising i only had to write 2500, yeah it's a thing i got i guess, sorry.

Yeah it takes me a bit aback when i realise how much i have to write per term, i sorta lose my mind part way through and just wish for the thing to end. But it's fun i guess, it keeps me going, the journey doesn't tho. I actually don't like pratical work, I never have, I just like writing, i always try to avoid it in school just because i feared the worst would happen if i try anything. Huh that subject actually sounds kinda interesting, i wonder how different it was compared to mine.
Yeah I have, i would like to learn a lot more about how stuff works but i guess i have to wait until i see it in the curriculum. Can one obtain the type of chair that one would sit in when one has to finish a 3 hour biblical epic at 2am drinking whiskey, listing to Greenday only to find out that the film will be directed by Michael Bay? That'd be quite the chair.

I haven't actually ever learnt about it, everything I wrote i picked up after watching long analysis videos on certain films where the character exhibits the same type of psychological illness, now the more i think about it i should have done psychology back in school, would have helped a lot with what i do now. Oh I love the film Split, it's one of my top films of the year before. I also happened to be the only person in the cinema who screamed when he saw Bruce Willis at the end of the film, because it ties two films together ( I literally lost my shit when it happened, it was glorious). I like the acting aspects of films as well, Blade Runner 2049 was my favorite film of last year just because of how well the actors acted in that film (plus it had Ryan Gosling in it). I tend to look at who's doing the show before watching, 9 out of 10 times it tells me how good the show will actually be.

I think it is, once someone finds something about a game or film or anime that no one has done before then you can write it down and someone out there will appreciate it. Oh that sounds really neat, i kinda want to dip a bit more into comparative analysis but i always get cold feet. Yeah Japanese cinema happens to be one of my favorite region of cinema going, most of their films are fantastic and extremely original. Watch it, it's such a fantastic film, one of my personal favourites.

I think i've heard of Cross Game and people keep telling me to watch it, i'll add it to the list. I have no idea what my Uni specialises in, I guess I never really looked.

I was more of a nintendo kid when i was younger, i had the ps2 tho, dank games were on that system, i kinda wish i had a Snes now, some of the games on that system are worth a lot of money now. I actually found out about Nier Automata because the main character's got a nice butt and it was a thing on the internet for a while, plus it's developed by Platinum Games, I have to support my bois.

Huh that's quite the twist, shocking twist. Oooh Baby Driver was fantastic, the editing in that film was some of the best i have ever seen, every song went with each shot, it was so goddamn good. I can't remember how ours over here work, but normally the film isn't above an 15 (but i guess you need to do some crazy stuff to even get above that rating anyhoo). The film always premiers at 8:30 at night tho so nine out of 10 times it's a pretty adult film but not your level of film. I think i played Minecraft once, though yeah the creepers do catch you off guard.
Would you be surprised if I told you my phobia originated from Zelda? Playing OOT back in the day, i was playing the Master Quest version and everything was flipped, so i went into the room with the compass and normally you just hop a long and grab it but oh no this time when you jump a massive ass spider comes down, i screamed and never played the game again, i still have trouble playing OOT because of it.

I think the Devil May Cry series is coming to PC in April, it's pretty much the best time to pick it up and experience it, it's a fantastic series. Yoko Taro's game history is extremely strange, it's basically I think just Drankengard 1,2+3 and then Nier and Nier Automata, still have everything plays out is like extremely odd, but it's amazing to just watch it all happen. I like the deep psychological games that make you question everything every 5 seconds, those are my favourites.

I actually have that with a lot of films i watch, some people tell me "oh watch this it's great" i end up watching it and hating it, but i can see where you are coming from. Yeah Kyoani's style is getting a bit tired at this point, tho i can't say their character designs aren't cute because goddamn they are adorable. A lot of people are fearing Koi Wa but the way they are doing the romance really works for me, more than with other shows.

Oh... Yeah... With Bleach don't watch beyond the Aizen Arc, just don't, the entire thing falls a part and becomes a tad poo. Gintama is just fantastic throughout and even more so recently. Oh with Zankyou i've watched the first 2 episodes when they were airing, but i went to Spain so i never catched up afterwards, shame since the director is one of my bois.

Yeah it's an odd one but we go to different continents per week, the one before christmas was Japanese Cinema. I like French films, Blue Is The Warmest Colour was one of my favourites (and not for obvious reasons). With Italian, i keep accidentally buying them and each time i end up falling in love with them, if you get a chance, watch Suspiria, the use of colour in that film is possibly the best in cinema. Spanish films are good, Abre Los Ojos is my favourite. Yeah it kinda depresses me a lot, i keep thinking it's going to get better and that's what keeps me going.

Yeah they were dramatic but i think it made it even better really. Yeah his character development was top notch. Yeah everything about the series was so goddamn good, the ring scene is one of my favourites. I tend to leave it there on Twitter so people who visit my page can appreciate some good man ass. Much like the chairman in Prison School I am an Ass Man, Victor just stands as the best i've seen in anime from a male perspective.
I would just accept at this point 25 episodes of Yuuri and Victor dancing, that would make me happy.

SAO is an anime alright, but it doesn't do anything with what it has, instead it just becomes a harem and i don't really like those shows too much at this point. OOOOOOOH watch Psycho Pass, that has one of the best antagonist ever, plus pretty much Jojo has some of the best as well.

Well each adaptation tells the story slightly differently, the OG one's dub is a massive Meme, so if i was you i would just stick with Devilman Crybaby.

Oh jeez, that's hard... This has put me on the spot.. Right
1. Mulholland Drive
2. American Psycho
3. Videodrome
4. The Holy Mountain
5. Blade Runner

That's the ones i can think of from the top of my head. I really like Shutters Island, it's an underrated film, possibly a bit too underrated. Soundtracks have become my thing recently since Sangatsu No Lion and Devilman Crybaby.
Ah that's a shame, i would like to show mine off but I have no idea if I can or not, the best one I did was called Jikan about a dude who gets sent back in time.

Yeah Drive the film with Ryan Gosling, the soundtrack is top notch in that film, plus the cinematography is amazing as well. Taxidriver is an amazing film also.

Don't worry take your time, i just realised how long these things become, I do apologise.

Yeah most of my classes for uni are extremely text heavy (actually the more i think about it all of them are) I'm currently studying Film Studies at uni, it's literally all essays besides maybe one unit which may entail some pratical activity. Though what i actually want to do is write films, since that's my preferred filed of expertise, i don't think i am entirely cut out for the directing chair. As of right now i've written 2 short films and 1 short play, nothing to write home about but it's something I guess.

I enjoy what I do, i just recently wrote an entire essay on the mental state of Light Yagami in the Death Note live action (the OG Japanese one) which was a lot of fun though most of it was actually researching into sociopathic personality disorder. Though i prefer last year over this year. Last year we were allowed to turn a film into a TV series and I chose Battle Royale and it was one of the most fun experiences i have ever had, shame it's not like that this year. But yeah i wouldn't mind in the future to just write films and hopefully make an extremely dank film.

I've been a fan of the sports genre of anime, some of them really do give you a rush that's hard to beat. I'll give it a watch if i am able to track it down. I don't think my Uni has a Shogi club, though i could be wrong, just it's never really broadcasted around.

Some reviews tend to dip into analysis as well, the more obscurer the title the longer the review is because a lot of the time they just go on about what the game means to them, it's actually really fascinating. True, the best thing is when you get a fresh perspective on something that really allows you to get a better grasp of the game, i had that with Nier Automata and Drakengard.

Oh jesus, i've been to those kind of screenings before, granted mine has always ended up being something kinda mellow, not to your degree. I actually can't remember the last film that actually scared me, I played Dead Space and after that i became extremely numb to extremely scary shit. I mean i guess Resident Evil 7 scared me, only because marguerite was acting like a spider and spiders in games and films scare the hell out of me (jesus i can't forget that fight, she got stuck in the wall and when i found her she was just scurrying in the same spot and i let out an extremely big scream, which then i just ran away) The only films that scare me now are the old J-horror films from the 90's only because they are extremely unsettling. But goddamn your film sounds horrible, I wouldn't know if they would screen that here in the UK.

Bake is an interesting series, i adore it just because of the storyboarding, plus it's basically a cinema lovers dreamland with every shot, but i can understand people who may not like it. Violet Evergarden is the only show so far which worries me, just because it's Kyoani and i fear they will screw it up by the end and it will just be remembered for the visuals. Koi Wa is actually my favorite anime of the season, episode 1 was breathtaking.

Yeah so far i haven't read a manga from Shonen Jump where i left satisfied, all of them got rushed to no end and made me depressed reading it ( i will never forgive them for Bleach) It's hard to find a series nowadays that presents a complex narrative and follows through with it till the end and doesn't give up by episode 7. At least Gintama is fantastic till the very end.

Film Studies is just a general kind of thing, you can put everything into it and it still counts, we have an international cinema lesson every friday which concentrates on a different country per week, i was hyped for Japanese cinema since it's what i know best. Though i enjoyed the lesson on European since Italian and Spanish are some of my favorite countries for cinema as well. We have a script writing lesson as well, but it tends to drift way too far from what i expected.

Story based games is actually what i enjoy as well, i can't stand games with no story, Silent Hill 3 and Persona 4 are some of my favourites along with the Devil May Cry series. Though recently i've been getting into the Yoko Taro line of games and they are starting to become some of my favourites as well.

I didn't like the whole aspect with the teacher at the end, that just felt kinda dumb and odd, but i still enjoyed the ride, episode 7 stands out as some of the best characterisation i've seen in a long time. Yeah the whole marriage thing kinda didn't make any sense but I guess that's love maybe...?... I don't know.

I remember watching the first 9 episodes of Guilty Crown and kind of liking it and then the second half happened and it was like they forgot what consistent writing was and just threw everything in and hoped for the best, Araki has that problem with every show he does, when the second half kicks in it just goes poof and becomes a dumpster fire. I've done that with a lot of series only for it to come crashing down and it turns into a cliche mess, I mean your version sounds way more interesting than what we got.

Yeah Devilman has had many versions in the past, this one is top notch tho, though i would recommend watching the 80's OVA just because it has one of the best dubs ever.

Still it must be really neato to be able to ice skate. Yeah everything about that show was perfect. I actually have Victor's ass as my pinned tweet on twitter just as a monument of how to draw a perfect butt (since perfect butts are hard to come by in anime's nowadays)

Well a lot of the time we do get to see films from Japan over here in the UK, but they tend to be limited to just London and it costs like £40 to get there and an extra £15 for the ticket, so it's almost just worth buying a plane ticket and going to see it somewhere else, plus i am normally never able to see it.

Oh in Mulholland Drive (which mind you is my favorite film of all time now) there is a scene which takes place within a club, there a female lip syncs a song but then faints, the song continues however. I wrote an argument which entails that Lynch basically says that music and sound within film is an illusion and it means nothing, you can still generate emotion without it being there. It's an interesting take on sound which i have never seen before. David Lynch is such a fascinating director, i can watch him and alejandro jodorowsky talk about film all day and never get bored.

Oh good luck with your exams!!

Before i reviewed anime i reviewed films for a bit (i think they are still on there to watch) and back then my favorite film of all time was Drive which the main character was called The Driver, so that's where the name came from, plus it sounds really cool!!
TheDriverReviews Jan 10, 2018 9:08 AM
Sorry about that, sometimes i tend to go on a bit, possibly the reason why i can write essays on films so much and not run out of things to say. Yeah with me i kept this up for 2 years so far and i've learnt quite a bit from it, still with a lot of what i do i still need to improve, the only series i'm actually extremely indepth with is Sangatsu, since i can talk about that show for like 3 hours per episode because there is just so much in that series. One of the more interesting trends i've seen as of late is the idea of 50 min reviews of games and sometimes anime, some of them tend to be quite interesting. I guess what i am trying to say is, if and when give it a go, it's a fun thing to do and keeps really allows you to get more out of the series you watch/read. Eraserhead is actually one of my favorite films, i've watched it about 10 times and still get a new experience out of it each time. It was my first Lynch film as well, the only good thing i had was i watched a large amount of surrealist cinema beforehand so i kinda grew accustomed to the more disturbing aspects of it, but yeah it's a trip alright

Yeah Sangatsu is about Shogi, it really got me invested into it as well. I have heard of Hikaru No Go but never watched it, it seems like a pretty neato show. Shaft tend to be the most cinematic studio in anime, their anime's are like watching an art house film, Bakemonogatari stands as one of the best looking shows i have ever seen, they are worth watching just for the storyboarding.

One of my fears with series is if they will rush the series or not, i hate when i leave a series with a sense of like they went 0 to 60 at the end.

I had no idea about it until my teacher during a lecture we had on Japanese Cinema told me about it, He had a picture of Shinichi on screen and asked who he was, and i quickly answered he's from Parasyte. To which i found out about the Terminator thing, which is pretty neat.

Yeah I have a massive Steam game problem as well, i kinda gave up and just played Drakengard. Oh the more people who experience Jojo the better, that series is one of the best growths i have ever seen from a mangaka, part 6 especially. Yeah series are better when you never know what's going to happen next, i had that with Erased until episode 10 when it just sorta gave up, neat series none the less. Guilty Crown sure is a series, not to sure what tetsuro araki was doing with that series but sure wasn't what i expected from him. Devilman: Crybaby is actually a retelling of the manga, so it's its own thing, no need to watch anything beforehand. Just be warned it goes places...Like Places.

Oh really? that's great! I really do miss that series, it's been a long time since i've been invested in a romance like that series, helps that Victor was really hot as well. The main draw for me was that it was done by MAPPA since to me they are a fantastic and underrated studio. I kinda wish i could Ice Skate, must be freaking cool!

I think there is a movie coming out at sometime, which if that happens, i am flying to my nearest country to see it and watch it 70 times.

Yeah it's a nice breather, I had about 5 essays to hand in in the space of a month, each got more unorthodox the more i went on (Wrote an entire essay on how basically David Lynch says 'Screw it' to sound in film). Yeah i've found its best to keep to a small number, otherwise i lose track of what i watch then i forget when it comes out and everything just goes haywire.

Good luck if you have any exams!!
TheDriverReviews Jan 9, 2018 11:27 AM
Hello once again :D

Thank you!, i still think of myself as just being alright at doing reviews, the good thing about reviews is the fact that no one is not that good at doing them, the more you do them the more you begin to understand more and more how things work. A paragraph review can be as good as an essay on a an anime or film. I mean in the short bit you did on Claymore that in of itself is a review and it shows that you understand a lot of what makes something work. So don't discourage yourself. What helped me a lot was watching a lot of David Lynch films, those allow you to get a better perspective on things and opens your mind about different subject within how stuff works than anything else (if you do watch them, they are a tad on the strange side, a lot of crazy stuff happens and not a lot of it makes sense, but that's the beauty of it, it allows you to extract the meaning).

The only time i've ever seen an anime go beyond a manga is Sangatsu No Lion, that's only because Shaft are absolute madmen and they somehow manage to go beyond, but i agree most of the time the written is a lot better. I keep that in mind, i've got the anime on blu ray so i'll give it the old watch!

Oh The Village basically has the exact same twist, it's where the meme originated from, it just doesn't work as a twist. But yeah the main thing keeping me going with AOT is how it's all going to wrap up.

Shi ga Futari wo Wakatsu, huh that actually sounds kinda neat, i might have to track it down after hearing that!

The main thing i know about the manga is the fact that James Cameron owned the rights to it for a little while so that he could use the shape shifting aspects of Parasyte for the T-1000 in Terminator 2 (not to sure how true it is tho). But i think the manga came back into publication like last year so it might be a bit easier to track down, might give it the old read in-between writing essays.

Recently i've had a massive burn out with anime because nothing interested me, which is why i picked up a lot of manga including Jojo, just nowadays it's hard to find that one show that grabs you, the only show that's done it to me recently is Sangatsu No Lion only because it's literally the most incredible thing ever made and recently Devilman Crybaby has also done it.

I think the last show before Sangatsu that made me want to get back from London each time it was on was Yuri On Ice, the show grabbed me like no other show has done besides Sangatsu (Helps that Victor was a goddamn stud-muffin)

I think this has been the only season when i've had no essays to hand in, but if you have to check anything out this season check out Devilman Crybaby, it's so goddamn amazing, it does in fact have a lot of violence and sex but it's in the background to one of the most amazing looking shows in recent memory packed with possibly one of the best condensed storylines in a long time as well
TheDriverReviews Jan 9, 2018 5:54 AM
Hey! thank you for your kind words, i am glad you enjoy my reviews, it really does mean a lot!!

I am actually reading Attack On Titan's manga, i think i got to the point when they reavealed the basement and I think i dropped it for a bit because it gave me bad The Village vibes.

Claymore has always been on my list of things to read and for some unknown reason it just keeps leaving my brain, I did in fact by the anime recently but i always heard it pales in comparasion to the manga.

Shi ga Futari wo Wakatsu made - actually has my most interest seems like something i would actually dig quite a bit

With Kiseijuu is it better to watch or read it? I've seen people say that the anime is miles better than the mango but i have zero idea how true that actually is.

Much like with Claymore, Nana has been one of those series that i always wanted to check out but never got around to it (There's bare mango's and anime i haven't watched yet that's considered like the top tier of anime and i've been watching anime since i was like 5) But i think there does exist a legal way to both read and watch it so i will get on that!

Thank you for the recommendations I'll be sure to check out all of them when i get a chance, seems like this season of anime is overwhelmingly good! Also once again thank you for the kind words they really do mean a lot!

Hello! Thanks for stopping by, I guess, haha.
You would have hired me? What would be my job? Watch anime? Because I would gladly do that.

Well, a major is your field of study at a college/university in the United States, and I don't think I need to explain what Anthropology is...

Now I feel like you know a lot about me while you remain covered in mystery. Care to introduce yourself?
