Before getting to my thoughts, just gotta state that the art is beautiful, absolutely dig it.
The first 30 chapters or so was such a refreshing blast to read. Chitoge's character felt really REALLY refreshing to read, especially from a shounen manga. I was really looking forward and having high hopes for this series, because I quite like harem stories that have a likeable MC and where the girls are unique and super personable. And I 100% found that in Chitoge. She just felt like a really well-written unique and likeable character, and I absolutely LOVED the banter between Chitoge and Raku. Their first meeting was

10/10, it actually felt so natural. She didn't just immediately fall in love with Raku just because this is a harem manga, her interactions with Raku felt natural and realistic. I was really looking forward to how their relationship will turn out.
And then, somewhere after chapter 30, Chitoge's unique character is suddenly chucked out of the window and she just becomes your generic harem girl, it was SUCH a letdown for me because I genuinely LOVED Chitoge so much and I was sooooo looking forward to her character development T_T!! Even thinking about this loss now, I'm still so sad.
But basically after chapter 30-ish, Chitoge just falls in love with Raku and becomes a generic soulless girl in your generic harem anime. A bunch of new girls are introduced one after the next, and the rest of the series just feels like filler until the end where none of the girls really get any real spotlight for us to foster some bond for them, and Raku just felt... sooo bland. I dropped the series after reading for a while, and accepting the reality that this series is now a textbook harem, and the Chitoge from the first 30 chapters, that I so dearly loved, is gone.
First 30ish chapters, I'd highly recommend anyone to read it because it was truly unique and such a fun read. 10/10
As for the rest of the story, I wouldn't even bother personally. If you care about who Raku ends up with in the end, just jump straight to the ending and save yourself the heartache of seeing an initially unique shounen romance series turn into your generic harem show with girls liking the MC just because he's the protagonist. Sorry for being so harsh
Checkout the one-shot for this manga, I actually love it very much. You can really see just what kind of girl Chitoge is and see just how much personality Raku has as well. I actually liked Raku and you can really see just how unique this story was going to be from the oneshot.

Like most really good ecchi harem anime for me, if the characters are interesting, the ecchiness aspect of it just completely flies over my head. I think I've grown "numbed" to ecchiness from childhood, so seeing boobs in my face wasn't a big deal and I didn't even give it a second thought. So my first-time watching this back in middle school was me just dropping my jaws at just how epic this show was and laughing my ass off at how funny it was. it but I guess that just goes to show how invested I was to the characters of this show, rather than just for visual fanservice lol. Also I watched a lot of Crayon Shin-chan so maybe that's another reason why I didn't feel too bothered..
Anyways! Yes, it's ecchi as fuck (just look at the anime poster for this), but as ecchi as it is, I love Ikaros and she deserves all the happiness in the world.
This is a fairly "old" anime but even then, the action sequences from this show is STILL one of my favourites! Just watching these cute, but then all of a sudden badass angels fight with explosives and magic was just the coolest thing ever. This anime holds a nostalgic place for me, and even after all these years, I still remember having good memories from watching this.
Oh but for real though, the ecchiness in this one is high lol. The MC is very open about his pervertedness.

Absolutely love it. One of the first anime series I've had the pleasure and luck to watch. Definitely my top, if not my no. 1 fave anime series of all time.
The comedy of this anime is top-notch, it's super wholesome and very SOULFUL (no pun intended, just pun unintentionally intended). Definitely a masterpiece in my opinion. To the mangaka and the anime staff of this series, you can see just how much work and all the fun they poured into making this series.

As with anything, it's not for everyone. But I just loved the always present, "simple" undertone of family bond. It's very touching and something about this series really does feel full of soul to me. The characters' bond with each other is super wholesome. You always know the three trio will always support each other, but at the same time, I'm also just laughing my ass off at all the beautiful and ridiculous scenes that are happening. The serious arcs SLAP, and the in between "downtime" are just beautiful to me. These so called "downtimes" that some people might not like, is everything to me. I absolutely love these slice-of-life moments equally, if not more than the serious arc moments. I love Gintama for the comedy, the wholesomeness, the wackiness, and the badassness it brings!

This is my guilty pleasure, my absolute most FAVOURITE reverse harem otome anime series out there.
Now.. don't get me wrong, when I first watched this back in 2014 in high school, I cringed SO HARD in the first episode, and I immediately dropped it. I just COULD NOT watch this!! The amount of second-hand embarrassment oozing out from this was HIGH!
But, over the years after my initial viewing of Brothers Conflict, I had a new found APPRECIATION for anything reverse harem, and so I tried watching Brothers Conflict again (which I will now lovingly call it BroCon, the nickname for this series), and completely LOVED
...
IT!
I just loved how IMMEDIATELY from the beginning, ALL the brothers (well minus a couple from the get-go at least), fell in love with her xD!! Now, don't get me wrong, kinda creepy and questionable, but hey!! A delusional fan of the genre, like me, was THRIVING for this kinda energy. I was tired of seeing how you had a cute MC and the boys around her were kinda mean/cautious of her (which is very realistic and suuper reasonable). But with BroCon, no, all that is THROWN OUT THE WINDOW!! It was just immediate "everybody loved her" haha!
Now, if you're someone who doesn't really like reverse harems, or something super fluffy and light-hearted with little-to-zero "plot," then I highly recommend you don't watch this series. Because, this series is pure fluff and sugar. So save yourself, and just don't watch it haha. But as a huge fan of the series, I absolutely love it. I loved all the quirky and unrealistic fun and exciting energy this series has.
And actually, even in the otome community, many people don't really like Ema because she's seemingly "bland," "has no personality," and etc. But I genuinely LOVE Ema. She was just a girl, who up until recently, lived alone with her father who wasn't even home most of the time, so she had a very lonely upbringing but didn't want to pester her dad so she always hid how lonely she felt and always told her dad she's fine..! And then all of a sudden she gains 13 new siblings haha. But throughout her childhood, she was a very responsible and mature girl who was very understanding of her father for always leaving her home because of his job. She's always longed for family, however she was never selfish enough to tell her father "no, please stay with me, don't leave." And so back to this series, all of a sudden, she's thrown into this huge family with 13 brothers. Now all (most) of her new brothers just fall for her, but from her perspective, she finally gained a new family, and she's never had that before and so she doesn't really know what to do, but she's always wanted a family so she does her best to keep this family bond and not break it.
And so throughout the anime series, she's trying to maintain that family bond, and so she seems "wishy-washy" as some people are (understandably) annoyed by, but I just think she's a very thoughtful girl who was going through a very unorthodox situation, with no one to consult to, and was just trying her best to maintain her new family. Anyways, this is all for me to say that I love Ema as a main character. She's a very caring and selfless person, and she always tries her best for others. I have massive respect for her (and LOVE HER!). This anime series has a wholesome undertone message about family love, but then it's also still an otome game so of course there's romance. So for some people, it can be a "weird" mix of family love and romantic love, which can make some people understandably uncomfortable, but I still just absolutely love this series. To me, it held a wholesome message about families, how family will always be with and support you. But then along with that message, it provided high QUALITY otome content in the romance department lol.
BroCon is just a very fun and HYPER UNREALISTIC series, and I just absolutely adore it. However, definitely not for everyone lol.
Is it the best anime/series out there? Definitely not. But for me, it's the best series and I just LOVE the fun and bubbly energy it gives! Whenever I'm sad, or when I just want to watch something that gives me happy feelings, I go to BroCon xD! This is a VERY light-hearted series with pure SUGAR as its driving force, everything about this was perfect TO ME and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Also small PS, despite this having THIRTEEN brothers and only 12 episodes, the brothers' personality are surprisingly very well portrayed. You can really feel just how unique and dynamic all 13 of them were. Obviously, some (*cough cough* Tsubaki for example) were emphasized more than others (*cough cough* Iori), but still, it was enough for me to get to know them all (and LOVE ALL OF THEM HAHA)! I'm just a mega big BroCon fan and super biased. I just loved all the DOKI DOKI energy it gave!

Dropped this series after reading volume 14. I was reading this while it was still ongoing and I absolutely loved it. I actually bought the physical books because of how much I loved it. But after buying vol. 14 and seeing where the story's direction was headed, I completely dropped it.
Spoilers below, and vent/frustration I have with this series ensues:
When I first read this, I was initially wishing for Nino and Momo to be together and happy, even when Yuzu appeared. But then as the series progresses, and you see how supportive and helpful and caring Yuzu is for Nino, and just how much he's

sacrificed himself for Nino's happiness, I slowly found myself wishing for Yuzu to be happy, and for Nino to also see just how loving and caring Yuzu is of her. I originally thought this whole series was going to be how Nino was going to have a change of heart, that instead of blindly chasing after her childhood first love, she would see just how wonderful and cherishing Yuzu is of her.
And so slowly from then on, I was hoping Nino would see this. The series continues, Yuzu is still cherishing Nino in the most heart-aching way possible and then... Nino.. Nino, Nino... As the series progresses, my dislike for Nino just grows more and more. This PAINS me to say this, because I really really loved her and I'm usually the reader who always supports the main character. But Nino, time and time again, she's just shown to be super selfish and only cares about herself. She messes up CONTINUOUSLY, and never thinks to herself how she is hindering the band. She always has a mental breakdown during important concerts, and all her mental breakdowns have to do with her and her feelings about Momo. She's NEVER thought to herself how she's stomping on not only Yuzu's kindness, but the entire band's. If it's the first time, sure, that's fine. She's new, she's still learning. However, she is CONSTANTLY doing this over and over again. And just, watching Yuzu always putting Nino first, while you have Nino only caring about her own feelings about Momo was just PAINFUL for me to read.
By the end of vol. 14, I knew the direction of the manga was set in stone. Nino could ONLY see Momo (and herself..), and so, I've completely given up on this manga series. Honestly, my disappointment is immeasurable (lol) and I can only hope that Yuzu will find someone waaay better than Nino, someone who will equally cherish him as he cherished Nino. Cuz my god, Yuzu is just such a sweet and lovable character. His loyalty and love towards Nino was just, beyond any dumb words I could ever write. Honestly, this was a HUGE missed opportunity for a beautiful manga (imo), and so thank you Fukumenkei Noise for making me feel so strongly. I'm honestly still super salty about how Yuzu was treated, but I guess.. it can't be helped ;-;
I hope my boy Yuzu, can find his own happiness..
As for Nino, she will remain in my memories as one of the most selfish and unlikeable shoujo main character I've ever had the unfortunate displeasure to read.
I'm giving Yuzu a 10/10 best character, and Nino a 1/10 "wish I never knew about her" character rating. At least the cover of vol. 14 had Yuzu on it, so a fitting ending to this series for me :')

The premise was definitely interesting and heart-wrenching, where you have Rokka who lost her husband and she's still coping with his loss by continuing their florist shop. And then enter Hazuki who fell in love with Rokka, and it was wholesome enough in the beginning. However, I can't say that I personally like Hazuki that much as a person.
The plot twist was that Rokka's husband, Shimao, continued staying beside Rokka as a ghost because at his death bed, Rokka asked him to always stay with her, and so he did, but as a ghost for the past three years where he couldn't speak with Rokka
...
AT ALL. And so he just stayed by her side... that in itself is kinda heart wrenching to read. But in comes Hazuki, and he is able to see him. However, he was just super rude to him.
Initially he was shocked and thought Rokka was seeing a man and so he got pissy, but then after learning that he's actually a ghost and Rokka's late husband, he still continued to treat Shimao really poorly, CONSTANTLY reminding him that he's dead and that there's nothing he can do for his wife.. Like, that's just real low to say to someone who died due to tragic means and couldn't do anything about it, but remain silently by his wife's side for three years.
Anyways, I really liked the Rokka before this series began, namely her past dynamic with Shimao. Both Rokka and Shimao really seemed to cherish each other very much, and knowing that Shimao was diagnosed with an uncurbable disease was very very painful to read. Watching Rokka cry after Shimao passed away was just extremely heart breaking. Rokka and Shimao have known each other for at least two years, before deciding to go out, and so the two slowly learned about each other, and their relationship felt very natural and wholesome.
But then, at least with how it was portrayed in the manga series, there weren't many moments for Rokka and Hazuki to get to know each other. So as a reader, I never really felt the two click unfortunately. Hazuki felt kinda like a dick for the most part, and Rokka felt a little shallow to me because surprise, she immediately fell for him, despite for the last 2/3 of the story, Hazuki was barely in contact with Rokka due to certain supernatural reasons. The rest of the story felt disconnected to me. So when the final chapter hit, the feels that I was hoping to feel didn't hit me.
Instead of cheering on for Rokka and Hazuki, I felt myself leaning more to cheering for Rokka and Shimao. Of course I know that it'd be more "healthy" for Rokka to move on, but with how the story was portrayed (i.e. very little and arguably surface level interactions between Rokka and Hazuki), I just couldn't find myself thinking Rokka choosing Hazuki is the "better" choice.
Lastly, I just want to say, the author REALLY gave Shimao the shittiest treatment haha. The result for Shimao at the end of the series is just... a real punch in the face. Shimao deserves better x')

As someone who got into otome games thanks to Amnesia, I am forever grateful to this confusing yet still intriguing anime!
I think I watched this back in highschool, and I was just newly getting into the genre of reverse-harems. This anime is an adaption of an otome game, and that's why there's no real ending. It leaves on a "if you want to know the rest, buy the game!" sort-of ending... which honestly, not a good feeling for anyone expecting an anime to get a proper closure. So I can see why, from an anime-perspective, why this anime series is kinda crappy. It gives you

a mystery and then ends on a cliffhanger, forever unknown of what you just watched.
I definitely felt super confused and unsatisfied by how the anime ended.. but after a few months to a few years, I always came back to this anime, I was always intrigued by the plot and also the romance in the anime (I love shipping the MC with any guys in the show, and this anime CERTAINLY delivered on that aspect xD). So I watched it again, this time prepared for an inconclusive ending, and I found myself just falling in love with the characters and the overall design to the anime. Eventually I started doing some researching and found out that this is actually based on a otome visual novel... and hence, the start of a new era for me as an otome gamer lol.
This is a very niche genre, so this definitely isn't everybody's cup of tea. As someone who really likes reverse harems, where I can support a girl MC being surrounded by pretty boys and falling in love with her, I absolutely dig stuff like that. So this is a 9/10 series for me. It helped get me into reverse harems and helped me discover otome games, so this has a special place in my heart. I don't know how to explain it, but all the sweet stuff in the anime fills my heart with warmth and I get super giddy from it <3!
From a more "objective" anime viewing experience, I'd probably give it a 5/10 for it's beautiful voice acting, art and premise, however it loses a lot of points because of a lack of an ending and explanation for what the crap is going on. For anyone else interested in finding out more about this, the game is out on steam, and you can probably find a summary of what's happening on the internet if you want a quick read. It's mostly just a quirky romance visual novel that pulls on your heart strings lol (which is something I live for xD)!

Disclaimer: watched the first season of the anime back when it came out (season two was not out yet at the time).. A few years passes, and the final volume of the series dropped. And in my greatest error in judgement, I decided to blindly trust in the masterpiece that was the first season of the anime, and bought the first and second box set for the manga (aka all the volumes for the series) BEFORE finding out about all the mess that goes down in the second season... my disappointment was immense as I saw this beautifully written story... just.. slowly get worse and

worse with each chapter.. I honestly reaally really enjoyed Vampire Knight, so I was extremely disappointed by what direction the author chose after season one.
The first 10 volumes (which I'd like to dub it "season one" for the manga) was honestly the best shit I've ever read! The characters, the premise and mystery was super intriguing and on point. I was excited every chapter to find out what would happen next. I was immensely invested in the mystery surrounding Yuki, Zero and Kaname. I also really liked how well-written the three main characters were. They really felt unique and alive. I especially loved the relationship between Yuki and Zero, especially if you read about their past of how they met. Not to get into too much details, but basically something happens and Zero, in his past as a child, didn't care for his life at all, he didn't care about living. But Yuki, our adorable shoujo protagonist, was the one to bring back happiness into his life. And from then on, he decided keep on living because of Yuki. He basically lives for the sake of Yuki.. it was really beautifully written, and I was digging for what will happen next.
Now.. everything is beautiful, up until you reach the end of volume 10... where the author drops a bomb. And from volume 11 onwards, all the way until the final volume (which I'll dub the "season two" of the manga), changes drastically. Everything that I absolutely loved about this series, the relationships, characters and the premise that was slowly built up throughout volume 10 felt like it was THROWN OUT THE WINDOW...! Now, something BIG happens in volume 10, which was super shocking, but that wasn't the problem. The issue was that I kept reading every chapter, and much to my dismay, the situation just gets worse and worse, and the story feels like it's being dragged on for the sake of things being dragged on. Everything felt like it was on halt, and I kept wishing chapter after chapter that SOMETHING will happen and bring this series back to how "season one" felt.. and then, I reached the final chapter, and realized.. "oh.. it's over."
Honestly, for anyone hoping to check out Vampire Knight, I do HIGHLY recommend you read it.. but ONLY "season one" (i.e. vol. 1 until vol. 10).. because after "season one," it's far from the fun and enjoyable atmosphere it had. The artwork, funnily enough, gets better as the series progresses... and as gorgeous as vol. 11 - 19 were art-wise.. the story has left a gaping hole in my heart (it's been years.. and I still think about it). "Season two" took this story with the characters I absolutely loved, and butchered them until they were unrecognizable. After reading "season two," I badly questioned myself "why did I like these characters again????" In "season two," Yuki was consistently hesitant and indecisive and she no longer was the same cheerful girl from before. Zero who used to have a semblance of a heart, became entirely emotionless and was now edgy for the sake of being edgy. As for Kaname, he also has his own sort of edginess just for plot convenience, and everything that was alluring about him before is gone now. In some ways, I really felt like "season two" killed them off... which really hurts me to say :(
"Season one," Vol. 1 - 10 was a 10/10 for me, super enjoyable, awesome story, lovable characters
"Season two," Vol. 11 - 19 was a 3/10 for me.. honestly, I want to give it 1/10 cuz it was really hard to read through, but out of my sentimental attachments to the characters in "season one", I'm giving it a 3.
For anyone hoping to check the series out, I highly recommend reading the first 10 volumes, it's super enjoyable. Just be warned that from vol. 11 until the final volume, the story deviates completely from the first 10 volumes and has a completely different feel.
P.S. If you decided to read this far, I just want to quickly bring out my biggest gripe that I personally felt was the first sign that this series was killed off after "season one." Remember when I mentioned how Zero's ONLY reason for living was because of Yuki? Just to re-iterate, Zero didn't want to live prior to meeting Yuki. He only decided to continue living, BECAUSE of Yuki. However when something happens at the end of vol. 10, Zero UNCHARACTERISTCALLY abandons Yuki. This to me... was just the BIGGEST NONO because Zero can give up ANYTHING (including his own life), EXCEPT for Yuki. He was written as a character who would love and protect Yuki no matter... and YET the author (for plot convenience) has Zero abandon Yuki and basically regard her as his number one enemy (for basically the entirety of the series </3)... which just BREAKS MY HEART...!!!! CUZ THIS BOY WENT THROUGH A LOT...! HE HAD ZERO LIFE PURPOSES AND DIDN'T WANT TO LIVE FOR HIMSELF.. AND HE ONLY DECIDED TO KEEP LIVING BECAUSE HE WANTED TO BE BESIDE YUKI... AND YET HE JUST UP AND ABANDONS HER, MAKING HER HIS ENEMY NUMBER ONE. GREAT..!!! MAKES A LOTTA SENSE [HEAVY SARCASM]. For real though, at that moment in the manga, it was a true tragedy for the series. A beautifully written character was killed, and subsequently, everyone else was spiritually killed off as well, and thus the beginning of a very long dry story that keeps snowballing into a jumbled confusing mess to give us "angsts", only to be "nicely" tied off in the end.
There is a new manga at work, "Vampire Knight: Memories", which is a sequel to the series, released a few years after the final volume for the original. However, personally I am done with this series. My heart has been broken enough by Vampire Knight. I don't think the new series will mend my heart any time soon, so I will just leave this heartfelt review here and say my peace to Vampire Knight. Absolutely loved it, and will try to pretend I only read "season one" and forget that I bought the second boxset for the atrocious "season two"
