Yeah, I've just recently re-motivated myself into watching anime, downloaded a ton, just need the time to watch it. Also hard finding stuff the fiancee likes (Slice of Life w/ a plot).

Thanks for the list. I hadn't checked this in a while, figured I'd update my list and such since 4chan is going on about dropped series.

This season is a mixed bag. Still need to watch Nisemonogatari, which will probably be the standout of the season. Lagrange, Area no Kishi (I'm a sucker for soccer shows) and Lives of High School Boys look to have the potential to be good, while the rest I've seen I can take or leave it.

I'll probably get to Aquarion eventually. In fact, chances are I'll use this season to clear my backlog. Already got too many shows I've only bothered to watch the first episode for.

Well, I'm only planning to watch Nisemonogatari, Another, BRS (mostly for the fights) and maybe Danshi Koukousei no nichijou. The others kinda look like fodder, to be honest. Though I'm not sure. I've seen some people praising those new Satelight anime (they have like 3 new series, right? ) and the new JC Staff with the Toradora director. I ended up with a lot of unfinished series last season, so I'd rather stick to the ones I'm sure I'm gonna finish.
Even those aren't something to call home about. Nisemonogatari is fine, even though the art direction is obnoxious sometimes (as expected of Shinbo). Despite this, it's actually creative and entertaining at times. Probably gonna finish it.
Another, on the other hand, looks unimpressive. It comes of as too much a try-hard with those ''creepy'' doll shots and the main kuudere girl. Of course, it has good music and good visuals, but they aren't really used to their full potential. The first arc of Higurashi (VN) did it so much better, as far as I'm concerned. The class intrigue and the plot seem interesting enough though. I think I'll finish it given its length.

What about you? I see that you've started a lot of series from this season. I only watch mecha when I hear a lot of praise for the series in question or, generally, when the mecha part isn't the defining part of the anime (Gankutsou, NGE etc)

I like to get things that are complete, at least by a season. Watching things as they air sucks when I got another person who enjoys watching things but doesn't like waiting. Trying to find some worthwhile 2009-2011 recommendation list.

Haha, spent all of Thursday night watching Madoka with my fiance, then started Index over for her to watch. I'm gonna start pulling stuff from your watched list to watch after she gets caught up with all the stuff I've seen.

Only watched the first 6, it's decent enough for me to continue watching. I have this ability to accept just about any anime series. I've only ever dropped two series; White Album and Glass Mask.

I work nights also, just happen to be off this night. I only just made my MAL account (swear I had one before). I'll have to finish my anime list sometime later, lurking the chan and downloading Index.

Why on EARTH didn't they just release Break Blade as a TV series? A high-budget, production I.G. backed series would have accomplished things so much more deftly. Instead we have tons of loose ends, characters who basically disappear, and an ending that basically winks conspicuously at making six more movies. Which they won't. My feelings toward Rygart Arrow can be summed up by the last ten seconds of him making faces. Look it up, it's hilarious - our terrible main character is simultaneously happy, sad, ashamed and relieved. It's a goddamn mess.

I think if I had to put my complaints about Gundam AGE mobile suits into words, it's that they're far too toyetic. They look like they could be easily made into soft plastic toys for kids too young to play with models without putting plasma rifles in their corneas. Which is to say they don't look like mecha someone might design for utility or warfare, but instead look like animate crayon drawings. Which, sadly, may have been the idea.
