At least there was an ending.
It was hurried and messy and it skipped a lot of stuff, but well at least there is an ending. So many anime's out there that don't have that.
The OVA itself was hurried, they skipped a lot of explanation. I think if they made short OVA series it would've been a lot better.
It's also too bad they didn't even show the ending properly like in the manga.
Guess I'm glad I read the manga, otherwise it would've been a disappointing ending.
If you only saw the anime I do recommend reading at least the last chapters of the manga so you might

The first part was more of a recap from Kyo's point of view, but still a recap. It didn't show anything new. I'm not even sure why they added it. Might be for those who watch it without ever having seen the series, but I wouldn't recommend doing that.
The second part I enjoyed tho, it was fun to learn more about Tohru's mom and seeing her meet her mysterious dad who we never saw during the whole series. I liked the story even though it was sad as well. After this movie you understand a lot more about Tohru's family. Aside from the recap this was a ...

Tbh the only reason I'm still watching this is for John. (I watched 4 episodes so far tho)
Let's be honest, this whole show is only tolerable because of John. I don't wanna spoiler too much, but John is a armadillo. John is always the one contributing the best scenes of the show. This is not meant to be funny or something, it's the reality of this show. The other characters aren't very likable, but sometimes (mostly thanks to John's contribution) they are. Mostly Draluc. It wasn't bad. If it would've been the first episode of the anime or something.
But for just an OVA it was.. well a very weird beginning since there isn't much information about the MC's at all. I liked the music tho and the art as well, even though it's an old anime I did enjoy it. The worst about it was that it actually would've been an good anime if it were a whole series. Too bad that potential is wasted. The story itself is okay. It starts interesting and then it seems like the first episode of something with some short scenes with Deimos, but it doesn't ...

Basically a recap and not needed at all since the show ended it good enough already.
Not much more to add, but if you wish to see a recap it was decent enough. Do watch the whole animation series beforehand tho. Karma and Nagisa narrate the whole anime and the events that happened, they add some comments, but that's it. There isn't anything new and it doesn't add to the experience (nor the story) of the whole anime. I watched this hoping there would be some new stuff, but it was basically just two old students reminiscing about the past which resulted in a whole recap movie. I still ... |
