I like action,adventure, and fantasy anime. The more badass the main character is, the more I tend to like the show. I'm also into romance/drama anime. I can't really appreciate manga as a medium, compared to books or anime(or even comics). However I'm sure that'll change when I run out of good anime to watch.

Strongly resembles the description of the anime you were looking for. Hair/eye colour, the fact that she's always reading, and is a childhood friend of one of the male leads. Her name is not Aoi, but her friend's name is. :x
