Hyouka (Anime) add
Preliminary (20/22 eps)
**Spoiler free review/

Hyouka, a great work by the famous Kyoto Animation team. Convincing with a superb art style, an interesting setting with sophisticated and special subplots and great character development, this is a must watch for everyone who isn't scared by a different approach at psychological aspects in anime and generally likes calm slice of life shows.

The shows follows high school boy Oreki and what happens to him following his joining the Classics Club on request of his sister. While there is no major plotline or a goal, the various miniarcs take a focus on the relationships between the main characters and various mysteries that ...

Shinmai Maou no Testament - or the Testament of SIster New Devil is another one of this season's battle harems. With focus on powers, ecchi and girls, this is the typical classic harem, just better. Definitely recommended for everyone who likes a good story.

Story: 7/10
Surprisingly, this is one of the stronger parts of this show. While many harems tend to have a very brainless story, the plot is just secondary and mostly disappoints. However Shinmaoi Maou manages to introduce quite a lot of interesting plot twists and introduce mysterious characters masterfully, while still keeping faith to the usual harem tropes. It also set a good ...

Absolute Duo (Anime) add
Mixed Feelings
Absolute Duo, based on a decently received light novel series. It enters the competition of generic battle harems of spring 2015 - and clearly doesnt make the cut. The absolute unoriginality of the characters, the linear and terribly explained story and terrible pacing and conversations make watching all the twelve episodes a clear waste of time.

Story: 3/10
High school setting; Powerful MC who cant love with mysterious past; all types of girls that fall in love with him for dumb reasons; a linear antagonist who breaks from his shell and gets defeated by MC with nakama power. Uhm, where have I seen this before? Well, everywhere. ...

Preliminary (11/13 eps)
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru, or My Teen romantic Comedy SNAFU, is one of the more popular series of 2013 Spring season. Even though the premise and setting - high school slice of life romance show - may not seem appealing to many, Oregairu does a lot of things very good, especially in being unique, good and refreshing.

Story: 8/10
Set in high school, the story revolves around the loner Hikky, a person devoted to being alone who created a lot of theories of the human mind, loneliness and the thought process of human in society. While being kinda generic, the actual plotline ...

**As this is the sequel to the first season of Code Geass, let me tell you that the review is for both seasons. I'd rate them the same and enjoyed them in a same way.

Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch / Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion /コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ ; 2 x 25 episodes a 20minutes ; aired from April to September 2008 ; Action, Mecha, Super Power, Military ; licensed by FUNimation and Bandai Entertainment

Code Geass is a classic, a must watch. The story very much follows a general idea often seen in books, movies and series: a normal human obtains a power to then ...

Barakamon (Anime) add
*This review is based on the anime series, Barakamon.

Barakamon/ ばらかもん , 12 episodes a 20 minutes, aired from July to September 2014 ; Comedy, Slife of Life ; licensed by FUNimation

Barakamon isnt your generic anime. This show may be considered something simple, non special - but thats exactly what makes it awesome. There are no battles, no magic, no harems, no romance - this is pure Slice of Life, and its awesome.

Story: 9/10
The story is something very unique. How many shows have you seen which center about calligraphy? None, of course. Barakamon tells the story of Handa, a young calligrapher who spends his days on ...

**I've seen the movies and NGE original series, but the review will be about the series (spoiler free)**

Neon Genesis Evangelion/Shinseiki Evangelion/新世紀エヴァンゲリオン ; 26 episodes a 20minutes (last 6 with directors cut) ; aired from October 1995 to March 1996 ; Action, Sci-Fi, Mecha, Psychological ; licensed by ADV Films

"This isnt a series to read reviews about, so that you're in the clear whether to watch it or not- you just have to watch it."

Neon Genesis Evangelion, a milestone and icon between animes. No matter where you browse, with who you discuss and whose recommendations you listen to - you can't split past NGE. This anime ...

**I have only seen the anime of Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate and this review is only based on that.

Romance comedys with high school settings are by far my favorite anime series, so keep that in mind.

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate/Love, Election and Chocolate/恋と選挙とチョコレート ; 12 episodes a 20 minutes, aired from July to September 2012 ; Comedy, Drama, SoL, Romance, School ; licensed by Sentai Filmworks

Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate appears like a generic romance school story who wants to be different from mindless harems, to then develop into a thrilling election battle with very interesting subparts to the main plot. It ...

Ao Haru Ride (Anime) add
**I have only seen the anime of Ao Haru Ride and this review is only based on that.

So as a person who rarely watches Shoujo anime this was a first for me, so keep that in mind.

Ao Haru Ride/Blue Spring Ride/アオハライド ; 12 episode a 20minutes, aired from July to September 2014; Comedy, Drama, SoL, Romance, Shoujo, School; licensed by Sentai Filmworks

Ao Haru Ride starts with a premise that seems typical for this type of anime - a slice of life show that wants to show the development of a romance and of the characters. The story is set in high school and focuses ...
