The animation had a rushed quality to it as if the episodes needed to be pushed out as soon as possible. A few scenes were reused a bit too much, excluding the transformations of course. While the story was tedious, overly goofy, and some episodes felt like barefaced copies of previous ones, it did manage to keep me amused. If it weren't for those more entertaining moments, though, it would have been a very "meh" series. The main attraction here is the immature playful comedy. I would suggest staying away from Powerpuff Girls Z if you are particularly critical with plot. (80% of the awesome

Pro: Koge-Donbo's art is very charming and appealing to the eyes.
Con: Long-winded pseudo-plot; irritating characters that you're supposed to care about despite their only foundation being perplexing angst and tragedies guised as comprehensible character development, leaving a debilitated narrative in the ashes. Result: After reading I am wary of reading any more of Koge-Donbo's works in fear of just wasting my time and being let down. This is a shame as I've fallen is love with her drawing style.

- Brief and slightly predictable but maintains some old-school charm.
- Would not call the story enthralling. - The comedy that's in the show is at least amusing. - Not good fap material; few sex scenes in poor quality. Rewatch Value: 3; Almost zero redeeming qualities and it will probably be a waste of time to rewatch it. |
