I didn't go... but I met new people by joining a geek club. We play board games once a month. I'm sure there's a board with announcements and demands... maybe there's people needing help or some activities.

Or you can say hi to people in class and offer to go drink something or stuff. I don't really know since I'm probably antisocial, or the world is antisocial with me. But if I could do it with the geekout group, anybody can XD
