The physical quality of this book is quite good and the translation is totally serviceable. However the manga just isn’t very good. The darkstalkers chapters are short self contained stories that remind you that Darkstalkers didn’t have a lot going on outside of character design and gameplay.
The Red Earth chapters actually have less story than the arcade game itself. This is not great considering that game was a fighting game boss rush.
I would only recommend this book to the most diehard Darkstalkers / Red Earth fans who want to own it for the novelty, because the story itself is not worth reading.

There are so many ways this manga could have fallen apart, and been embarrassing / cringy to read.
Instead, the author makes the story work by presenting everything completely seriously. The story is presented in an almost battle manga style back and forth between the MC and whichever girl he is currently nagging so he can see their underpants. The series has a kind of dry humour that you don't usually see in manga, this makes the completely clueless (but also genius level) MC likeable.
