Very tiny spoilers ahead.
This OVA is non-essential to the plot, so unless you just want more Shokugeki you can just skip to the second season.
Nonetheless, I highly recommend it, it's good fun and it does have a tiny bit of character development for some side characters like the Aldini brothers.
Otherwise, the quality is the same as the first season in all other aspects, it's just that the story itself isn't in any way significant to the plot.

WATCH THIS BEFORE SEASON 3
Tiny spoilers ahead. Compared to the first OVA which was more or less two side stories that aren't that important these two episodes are in my opinion a must-watch before starting season 3. Not only do they have a lot of character development and foreshadowing (especially the first episode), the second one introduces the Elite Ten in a much more well-paced way. The first episode takes a few scenes from the OVA and doesn't linger too much on it, this OVA goes in much more depth.
