11-nin Iru! (Anime) add
This is an extremely obscure anime movie. The only way I even heard about it was because the GeekNights podcast was saying how great it was. Finding this thing is incredibly difficult. I ended up having to get it via a Netflix rental.

I'm not really a fan of old-school anime, but I gave this a shot. And it was good.
It's an incredibly interesting concept. And the pacing is well done. And there's lots of action. There's really interesting situations that the characters go through. And it's suspenseful... I guess.

And well... yeah. There's not much I can say without spoiling it.

It's cute!

As a 20 year old male I am extremely outside the target audience for this movie. Yes, this movie is for kids. In fact I'd go as far to say that this is one of the best movies for children of all time. It's a simple story. It's also an incredibly happy movie. You feel better after watching it. I can see having this movie watched over and over again by my kids when I'm a father. It's just cute and safe.

But if you consider yourself an anime fan, and you like the Miyazaki movies you've seen so far, and even though you are ...

*Review based on the English Dub*

I loved this movie! The characters were great. I loved how the story played out. The music was fantastic. The animation is magnificent for the time period it was made. And what I really loved the most was the hilarious dialogue! I'm not sure if that was there in the original Japanese, but it was very good dialogue and voice acting.

The Miyazaki staple of having really really disturbing and unexplained weird stuff does not show up in this movie. It's definitely a more normal movie, just animated. Because of that this is a great movie to introduce people who are ...

From the title alone you can tell that "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" is a time travel tale. And if you're a fan of Time Travel, you might wanna watch this movie, if only for another unique style of Time Travel to think about.
And just to reiterate, it's a movie. There's no deep time investment there would be if it was a long series.
Another good thing about this movie is the lack of fanservice. You could watch the whole thing with your family. And while this movie has not been rated by the MPAA it would probably get a PG rating for Mild ...

Let me get this out here first. I HATED the 26 episode series of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I hated being confused, I hated not having the entire plot available in the show and having to check what is going on online. But most of all, I hated being bored. I was so bored watching that series I was wondering how on earth this series could be so popular. And when I wasn't bored I was confused.

When I watched this I expected the same thing, it is the same story after all. But they fixed it! They fixed the pacing! They have so much better animation! ...
